Update: It's been 6 years since my review. I absolutely cannot rave enough about Chewy. SPECTACULAR customer service. I even joined the new Chewy+. Standing ovation all around!!! 2019 -I've been shopping with Chewy for many years now. Using this app about 6 months. Both are great!Their prices are normally very competitive. You have to buy $49 to get free shipping though. Chewy has a huge variety of selections and this app makes it easy to navigate around to find exactly what is needed....
I've ordered from Chewy a few times now since the beginning of the year, the app works pretty well considering. The issue always comes with the order itself, it's always come beat up, box has holes, cans inside are smashed open, bags of things split and poured out into the box. for a company that touts customer service its strangely toothless, they'll say "This is unacceptable" "I'll run this to the higher ups" but nothing ever comes of it. it's fine if you don't mind getting 3/4 of your order.
Great company, I love how they actually support animals. Only issue is shipping. If you use auto ship I recommend taking a week off for shipping (better chance of it arriving on time). For example, if you need something every 5 weeks select 4 instead. I have an auto ship for food set for every 5 weeks and it's hit and miss as far as arriving on time. EXTREMELY dissatisfied with chewy. So, I had an autoship set up. Worked great. I tried to cancel once autoshipment a couple hours after it had charged me, and I couldn't find an option to cancel! I spent 20 minutes looking on the website, then downloading the app, and sure enough, there was NO OPTION to cancel the order. This is well before it shipped, it had been a few hours since the order was placed. I should not have to contact customer support to cancel an order. TERRIBLE customer servic
AReally good app instead of going to the Petco store which never seems to have the stuff you really want. I realize that autistic makes you a reliable funds stream, but we're occasionally changing what we need some the apps constantly pushing aotoship is pushing us away. need a setting to disable autistic for people like us. Also if I'm going through a search result set, why doesn't it return to the list after I select an item. That's a real pain.
I love this app/service. I recently got 2 kittens and was struggling to find their food in any of the stores nearby. It's been a nightmare. Chewy autoship is honestly so easy. I felt sure I'd find a snag somewhere but for the last 3 months I have received my packages quickly with a reminder ahead of time to confirm I'm getting what I want. I also had to change their food and canceling their autoship service could not be easier. If you're curious, try it. 10/10 for me.
*Update: App doesn't function. When trying to sign in, it just opens and reroutes to a webpage in my browser, but never returns me to the app, nor am I logging in on the app when I return to it myself. I've also had to stop getting RX subscriptions due to inconsistency and unreliability.* Doesn't allow 12mth subscriptions on certain things which can be frustrating. Some brands feel like they never go on sale, or at least a good sale.
The latest update the app is completely different. What I'm assuming is dark mode, cause that's what I have my phone set to, the selections on the bottom are near impossible to read because they're in a dark color, too. I can't find my favorites list. It's still on the website so I know it's still available. And, I looked for somewhere to contact customer service to complain about the app redesign and that, too, is not available. If these things are fixed I'll update my stars.
I love Chewy as a company, I can't say the same for their app. Making an order through the app is always a bit of a headache- it constantly lags, takes forever to load, and I often have to click things twice for it to properly register. Chewy itself has great customer service and offers good quality products, I just wish they could put more attention to the app user experience. For what it's worth, I'm on Android, not sure if it's any better on iOS.
I love chewy as a company, the app though give me almost nothing but trouble. Pages constantly freeze or refuse to load, and occasionally it goes in this "dark mode" and will not respond to touch. I dislike how the "favorites" is now hidden in the account page instead of having its own tab. I'm not sure if it's newer updates or what, but I've had the app for years and these issues are all relatively recent. Otherwise, shipping is fast, quality and pet supply selection is great.
I absolutely love chewy but lately have been having the hardest time ordering medication! I'll select the medication I need, try to change the quantity, dosage or pet and the page refreshes every time and reverts back to original options. I have 2 pets on the same medication, different dosages but can't select the correct options. it's very frustrating as I have to contact the customer service for every order. I wonder if anyone else is having this issue.
I like that they usually have cheaper prices than most pet stores. one issue I have for chewy is that some things just don't pop up when looking for a similar like aquarium items I bought 80$ of fish supplies then go to dog food and aquarium plants pop up. I didn't even know they sold plants. also rocks for a tank all I got to pop up is 2 options and I know they have more. but all in all I still really like chewy. thanks and have a great day
I have used Chewy for several years for my cats & bird. I have been able to find 100% of what I need to give them a happy life. Their food, toys, prescription medications/food are very competitive with other businesses. The explanation of each item is easily understandable and concise. The autoship makes reordering very easy and you have the option of extending the shipment time if you don't need the item(s) right away. As you can see, I highly recommend doing business with Chewy.
I love Chewy as a company and have had wonderful experiences with their customer service team. Not just me but all of my family. The app is aweful, though. Very awkward to navigate, slow, not all of the information on products is accessible(the + buttons don't work). I removed it to use the website and have no issues with that, so I will continue to just use the website. I still would recommend Chewy to anyone who asks, though!
ITS handy for keeping my pèt supplies for the cat in stock and to be able to order them and receive them in a timely manner 😎!. I am unable to join the world 🌎 in shopping for my needs due to being disabled 😔, and homebound!! I also like the item selection, and their Veterinary services which are provided for FREE, or for a "reasonable" fee 👌! Happy with it am I 😀
I am very happy with all the features with this app and the website (when on my computer). Chewy is my go-to place to get everything I need for my pets. The prices are either the same or at a lower price than stores which is very helpful. The Autoship feature is great especially if you need the same products shipped to you automatically. The best thing about is you can add, remove or completely cancel the Autoship with no added fees or cancelation fees! Great app overall!
I was very happy to find my priority item on sale, along with a promo, if I added more items to reach the minimum requirement. I tried to buy 2 more bags of cat food, but try as I may it would not let me choose more than 4 bags. I was forced to add another cat litter and a toy to reach the target amount, when all I really wanted was 2 more bags of cat food : ( Also, the sale price on the cat food is scheduled to end soon. I wasted a LOT of time trying to find a way to make this work!
I love Chewy!! I love their app and their customer service is amazing. I have never had any issues with returns or missing items Even if an item is out of stock they inform you well in advance and make it so simple to replace that item with something similar or you can choose to wait or cancel the item. All the choices are yours. My pets love their American Journey brand and I find most items on here a lot cheaper than in stores and it's all delivered straight to my front door!!
So customer service is awesome, amazing, one of the best. The app.... it's getting incredibly difficult to navigate. I just tried looking for grooming supplies and the tab for it is completely gone. Finding any tab for any group of things is difficult now. There's too many suggestions and ads in the way for me to find what I'm looking for, and if you don't word your search just right, you're not gonna find what you're looking for.
This is a review for the company; I don't really have an opinion on the app. There was a bag of dog food missing from my autoship order. I called the number provided, was greeted by a kind woman, and my issue was resolved in under a minute. I was fully prepared to have this be a long process, but they quickly solved the issue and were very helpful. For that reason alone, I'll be for sure sticking with chewy autoship.
