App has been crashing a lot. It's crashed on me 3 times before I could finish an article. Gave up. I love the content but the app is a mess. I don't understand why it crashes so much. None of my other apps do. It's so frustrating to start reading an article; app crashes; reopen the app; search for the article; and try to read as much as you can before it crashes again. And again. And again. Until you either finish or give up.

The Sports section frequently stops refreshing even after I reload the app and clear app memory (including the cache).

This app is very wonky. It behaves in a strange, unpredictable manner. Prioritization of news items is poor. Lots of pointless articles. High school sports coverage is sorely lacking. That's an area the Plain Dealer used to excel at. Not anymore You'd think that a major newspaper could do better than this.

The app is functional and not too cluttered, but it would be nice to be able to filter the Top Stories view by category so people can only see what they're interested in (also you wouldn't need a bunch of separate apps for all the different sports teams). Showing subscribers ads is pretty annoying too.

This is a step backwards since the update! The font is way too small and not size adjustable and the layout looks much less professional without the quick view slides. I frequently visited the old style but I can't stand using it now. Please fix it!

Just deleted this app. It started sending notifications that cant be turned off. You can choose some notifications, but not *important* ones. I've received several in the last couple of days that are far from important. Ridiculous

This app constantly crashes after reading one, maybe two articles. Also just changed over to another page while still reading a different one. Uninstalled and downloaded a new one a couple times, but just gets worse.

There is ways something wrong with the app like not being able to load full articles to now, not being able to read articles because of graphics. Words are overlaying each other and the back color is black with different font colors.

april 2016: Always slow to load and refresh with new stories. Also downgrading now to 1 star as it doesn't allow me to move app to SD storage. march 2019. downgraded to one star. always something wrong. this time whole articles of text being displayed on a black background with unstrucured paragraps making reading impossible. also some lists and stories dont load in full on the app forcing you to navigate to the main site if you want to read that article.

Welp! Nothing good last forever. Pretty soon the Plain Dealer will be obsolete & so will this app. Because nobody will want to pay to read certain articles. Besides that, the update & new format looks good but it does have less articles.

This newer version is awful. It's slow and is always freezing up or jumping to a different story. I'm an ex-Clevelander and really want to stay in touch but this is really testing my patience!

It was my go to app. Not anymore. All stoties load on a black illegible screen. It's been like this for a week now. I think Im going to uninstall and try another local news app.

The damn thing crashes almost as often as it runs smoothly. I've never had an app that performed so poorly.

Very annoying that app makes you sign in every few days. I pay for a subscription and should be able to see the articles without constantly signing in.

This app has been junk for years. It get so slow and freezes constantly. I can barely read one article before having to restart it. Painful.

love the content, but the app hangs with every article, and crashes at least once during a morning of checking sports. needs much improvement!

something happened as individual said below. all articles are black boxes with unreadable overlapping blue letters. an app that was me go to for Cleveland news is now trash I've since deleted.

App has been a great go to source for Brown's , a step above of the Brown's own website, and posted 5 star satisfaction in 2019. Today I post extremely dissatisfied as most articles and media casts are teases and not availble unless you have a subscription. It feels like desperate extortion. Deleted App, who cares..Go Brown's.

Used to be a decent app. Sucks now. All stories are black and unreadable along with many other issues like the content itself...DELETE!
