the app is average at best, the browsing and watching are decent, but basic. it is not easy to find more obscure amc+ content unless you know the exact name for searching. AND managing subscription is very confusing and difficult. IF you need to cancel or adjust from you mobile, you need to uninstall the app, THEN open amc+ on a mobile browser, sign in, then it gives you the options for canceling or changing your subscription.
BEWARE DO NOT SUBSCRIBE!!!!! This is literally the only app or streaming service I've ever heard of that does not work on consoles (the only way like half of the US watches them) which could be tolerable, but the mobile app does not work at all! They make it so difficult to cancel that it becomes one of those background purchases you absolutely never use but causes so much frustration when attempting to unsubscribe that you rage quit and they make more money. Save your money if you value it!!!!
The format of this app is not great. There isn't an option to select "next episode" so you have to fast forward through the credits to get to the next one. Also if I want to navigate to a specific season and episode you have to go through a whole search process just to do that instead of just being able to pull up a menu to the side/bottom of the show. Not user friendly in my opinion.
Like others are saying - the app no longer works. It will open to the dark screen and spin the blue line in a circle endlessly, but won't load beyond that. So it's unusable/unwatchable. And given they are going to be increasing the price in January, that's entirely unacceptable. When you go to the support website and click on the link for the contact form - it just sends you to the same page on the Shudder support site, that is also unhelpful.
I hate this app! when ever I pause a show for longer than a min it stops working. when I push play again I get the oops something went wrong error message. sometimes going to a different app like Netflix and playing a show there for a few seconds b4 I jump back will fix it. Most of the time however, I have to completely sign out of the app and sign back in again. Don't tell me it's my internet speed. I got gig speed and all the other streaming apps work just fine.
I subscribed to AMC+ specifically to watch Inside the 49ers, which is an excellent documentary. Unfortunately, I didn’t find much else on the platform to justify keeping the subscription. There’s very little additional sports-related content, unless you consider TNA wrestling a sport. The original programming didn’t impress me, there’s no meaningful library of classic TV, and the mixed selection of movies doesn’t feel strong enough to warrant a subscription.
This app is nothing but frustrating. Every four or five weeks, I get an error message that says they can't load the content, then I have to uninstall the app, do a reset on the TV, router and modem, reinstall the app, etc. and it still doesn't work. Tech advice recommends buying a Roku stick to use the app. Why should I buy a Roku stick when the app is already on my TV and it is available through my Spectrum account? I shouldn't have to spend more money to make a second rate app work.
1/1/26 it says no internet, but every other app on the TV works great. support didn't offer the "connection timeout" as suggested in the troubleshooting. they really made it difficult to cancel this unusable app. 17Feb26 I've seen your advertisements, now spend some money on making the app work on my TV. I want to be your customer, please make your service work.
Streaming options are limited and the streaming interface is cumbersome and difficult to use, especially compared to every other streaming app. Even worse on your television and roku. Does not pick up where you left off and the saved lists do not sync between your phone and TV. Also, some movies do not show up on the TV app, even when you search for them.
Downloaded and signed up on the mobile app because it's easier to enter information. On Roku, the app is garbage. Doesn't have a search option. Mobile app does have a search, but I watch stuff on my TV, not phone. Also, I watched two movies and noticed the editing was awful, like an ad break on Cable. Considering two different movies had this happening, I pulled up one of the movies on Peacock, confirmed AMC was the problem. Thankfully, this was a free trial.
I just wanted to watch mad men. this is why this app sucks 1. if I get a phone call and pause the show (I watch on my phone) it'll unpause itself and keep playing causing me to have to rewind and figure out where I was 2. constantly replaying the same episode instead of bringing me to the next one or restarting my current episode. 3. THE ADS. dear Lord they are the worst. they play the same ads over and over and over again and they are the worst. SO MUCH MORE, but there's a letter limit 🤷🏻
If you pause or stop a movie, good luck trying to pick up where you left off. The movie will play, then a commercial, and the screen will be turned blank with only the audio available. Please fix this issue 😭 It's almost Halloween 🎃 and I, along with others, want to enjoy this streaming service. There's tons of good horror movies to stream.
this app constantly spins upon opening no matter how many times I uninstall and reinstall, and restart my phone. now trying to watch one episode of one show and keep getting error code 500. going forward im going to subscribe by month versus the year so that I can just cancel during the months my shows aren't on since the app isn't good and there is no tech support. good thing the shows are available to watch on various other platforms.
Decent selection of shows and movies, especially with Shudder. However, where other apps have the mini player when I go back to my home screen, this one does not. Really frustrating from a paid app. Also, I paid for the ad-free version and AMC+ plays their own unskippable ads every time I start watching something. That's really annoying, too. App seems to work fine otherwise, but I've only been using it for a couple of days.
It took me a total of 3 days to be able to finish one episode. That's because the app kept glitching and then stopping, it stopped working if I raised the volume from my phone, it stopped working if I turned on the caption and usually after a couple of minutes, it just stopped working because why not. I have uninstalled it and re-installed several times... Didn't help. And even though I paid for ad free content, an ad still played before the episode, with no problems. This app deserves 0 stars.
I can't get past the main selection! This app worked fine when I first subscribed to a year's worth of service, but after the first few weeks of watching it I can't seem to access any of the shows or movies!!! I keep getting an error message saying two exceptions occurred. That's crazy and obsurd!!! What a waste of money! I want a refund on ALL the days I have not been able to access this appt, I feel like I've been robbed of my money. My contract with them should be honored in whole.
Do not buy! Worst streaming app! Pauses and disconnects from streaming to TV constantly. And if you need closed captioning (CC) do not use this platform! Subtitles show for the first sentence and then are stuck. When you stop watching mid-show and you reopen app, it doesn't show you where you left off as far as far as the last shows you watched. You have to go to the search bar and type in the title of the show. Not worth the $, wait for Netflix.
Constantly crashes, slow, isn't the easiest to use. There's no way to access the show you're watching except from the continue watching page or to search it. If you want to go back an episode, you have to search the show and go the long way. And even though I pay for "ad free", I still see ads. I don't care what you want to call it, if it plays before I can watch my show, and it's advertising something they own, it's considered an ad😒 at least give me the option to skip them
First, I would like to start off by saying I paid for the ad free version and still get 30 seconds of amc ads every time I start a new show. False advertising for the Ad free version. Second, I was at a friend's trying to cast to a TV. The cast button is grayed out, so I couldn't cast. Then i did a smartview from my phone, and the show would play for a few seconds. Then, the app would say it couldn't play the video. Third please fix the aforementioned because I enjoy your programs.
I enjoy that I can make a list. However , I absolutely hate that I can't see what's on the live channels, there is no titles given and it's always a mystery what you're watching. No guide, no nothing. I used to use the AMC+on the Roku channel and I loved it so much more, layout and all. Only thing I couldn't do was make a list. I also don't like how in the descriptions, years aren't given. Most of the time I can't even get live to even load. Such a shame for the price you pay
