Very disappointing. The recent update made it bad. I used to be able to sort out files much more conveniently, such as by size, and it loads faster when deep cleaning. Now, I have to wait for it to count totally and cannot sort anymore videos. It is put in random order and does not have any sort menu. Please, stop updating things if it will result in lesser usability.

Dear xiaomi developers, i hope you hear my feedback. As a professional ui/ux designer, I've been a big fan of this file manger. It is awesome. But there is one simple but important feature you need to add to this app. when you browse in a folder, If there are multiple photos, when you open one of them, you can't simply swipe left or right to see other photos inside that folder. You have go close the photo, then open another photo, this is such an important yet simple feature. Pkease add it

Great file management application. It is a significant improvement on the system file manager on my device, an S9+ running Android One. The ads are unintrusive and occasional. Even though I have bought the ad-free upgrade, I believe the application works well, with or without the ad-free upgrade. I like the option for a dark theme. The UI and functionality of this app is superb, it is not as clunky and slow as I would expect file management to be on a phone, rather than a computer.

Good app. Ads don't seem to be too intrusive(at least for me). It has a good deal of features, can read a good deal of file types. However it lags sometimes, even though I have plenty of storage space and I clear cache regularly. Also you're forced to click on every photo to visualize it, no way to swipe from one to another. I'd suggest making the heart symbol for favourited items a little bigger, to improve visibility thus making it easier to tell at a glance which items are favourited.

Somewhat decent app, but compared to other file managers, this one takes a collosal time to navigate. The feature that I did use intensely was the private files, as they contain some of my important stuff, and it was fairly easy to access. Unfortunately, my files stored there has already disappeared twice. I was lucky I did a backup on my cloud storage, otherwise those things are gone forever... I would not recommend this unless you find it easy to navigate and you don't encrypt files.

Shows adds. "Remember my choice" option missing when opening a file. You get a prompt with apps to choose from but there is no "Remember my choice" option like it used to be before. So you can't set default app for a file type. When opening folder with multiple files and folders, view of the content appears to be scrolled down, not at the top of the page.

It's a very good app. The only problem I have with it is not being able to properly search files containing underscores in the file naming system. It fails to recognise the words in-between the underscores and will only pick the files when the underscores are inserted and the full name(s) of the file typed. Apart from this, it is a well thought-out file manager.

Just upgraded to Redmi Note 15 5G. The view is totally different than what used to be with MIUI. 1. Files under "Recent" are not being grouped as per the app they belong to. All files just carry "Internal Storage" info alongside file name. 2. No preview of media files under "Recent" section. 3. Further, there is only List View for Recent files. Not able to set it to Tile view. 4. No vertical scroll bar in Recent Files section.

It's not good to copy everything to the iPhone. Previously, the file manager would show how many GB of storage was free and how many GB were full, but now it doesn't show anything.Well, you can't copy the iPhone to Samsung without copying it. Samsung doesn't provide a recycle bin like its file manager does. Then you can also see how many GB of storage is free. It used to be seen on Xiaomi, but now it's not seen. What Xiaomi is doing is not good at all.

Not the worst File Manager, but isn't really that great either, especially you you connect a USB drive, the interface to access the drive is so tiny. Should make it bigger. There's also the ads (called recommendations), but luckily it can be turned off. Can't view some folders and it'll still point you too the Google File Manager instead.

Apps that provide core functionality should not have the capability to collect your data, even when they give you an option to opt-out. Period. I remember a time when installing keyloggers was a crime. I suppose corporations are immune to law nowadays? An end-user agreement is not a legally binding document,no matter what legalese the corporations spew at you. Pre-installed Xiaomi apps are the most anti-consumer software I have ever come across, excluding Adobe of course.

Terrible! Not inly it built in your phone - so you can't delete it! But it has ads. Like, built in app has ads??? What? I didn't use it ever, because for what? But I tried to move the folder with screenshots from my phone's memory to a new sd card and...well...it's gone. Like completely! Not in the internal storage, where it was with 1000 + screenshots! Not on the SD card. Better to do it with computer. And I even can't delete that "file manager" if you can call it that way.

I mean, it's decent enough for me to still use it. It does have some problems like not being able to change the amount of files in a row, problems with moving files (it takes too long and sometimes says "can't move" after like 90% of progress when there's everything fine with the file) and you can't swipe to get to the next picture. If they fix these issues, I'd happily recommend it.

From the outset it's a breeze to understand and to simple to use. There's so many apps of this type, so the only flaw, if forced to give balanced view, is that your app icon is a bit plain and needs a little tweak, a bit of bling, something that helps get attention. Individuality is key, at present it looks just like the Windows default icon for a file in File Explorer. Other than that I freakin love this app, so keep up the awesome work and enjoy the weekend when it gets to your turn.

Terrible irritating app with intrusive ads! This should not be the case with official file manager app! Pop-ups are jumping suddenly out on the full screen and force users to accidentally download apps which they don't want to! Users need file manager to manage their files, nothing more, nothing less. Ultimately disappointed with such shady approach, it does not deserve even 1 star! And besides that, downloaded files are not visible in the gallery, so it's absolutely useless!

Absolute mess. It is filled with bugs especially with the file selection, it won't even let me choose what FOLDER to use and instead bugs itself out by making me choose what FILE to use, which is obviously not how it should work. I want to pick a folder to use for my documents but I seriously can't get to because of this app, and this being a system app to my phone doesn't help at all. This is very frustrating and I'm really questioning about your phones' quality.

HEY GUYS! EVERYTIME I download file from a browser or any app, it wont reflect in this app. Even i refresh more. Nothing in recent and in storage. App loads slow. YOU can check Google's "file manager". it's fast also. i use X7 pro device.

I installed it because of the hidden folder or security folder and saw that it doesn't work except on Xiaomi devices. This was really annoying and that's why I'm giving it a 1 star rating. If I could, I would give it half a star rating. In my opinion, the only interesting thing about this app is the hidden folder section, which unfortunately doesn't work.

Can't even handle multi tasking. Clunky, super slow, not much features, inconvenient UI and button functions, annoying to navigate between different storages. Unable to set default app to open certain file type. Just bad and annoying to navigate. *Edit: It's much worse. Really slow file read. Constantly saying "Can't move files" without telling me why, when clearly I still have enough free storage left. Transferring files is much worse between the device and external USB drive.

Mi File Manager is a clean, fast, and easy-to-use app for managing files on Android. It offers quick access to storage, supports multiple file formats, and includes features like file sharing, compression, and secure folders. The interface is intuitive, and the built-in cleaner helps free up space efficiently. However, occasional ads and limited cloud integration can be annoying. Overall, it’s a reliable, lightweight tool for everyday file management.
