I'm sick of these stupid companies buying free apps and subscription-ifying them. This app used to not have ads or need a subscription. It wasn't bloated, and all was good. This has happened to three other apps that I was actually using and had to (or couldn't) find alternatives for. It's very upsetting. And what kind of compass needs an effing subscription? I'll go buy a real compass instead: $10, one-time payment. But I liked having one in my pocket at all times. This is enraging.

I thought this app was something that was from the phone since it was always there when I got a new Motorola. It worked perfectly. Then suddenly there is ads all over and it cost a ridiculous amount to have add free. $15 a week for what? What a rip off. Too bad. I wish it would go back like before. It was great for years. Now it's terrible.

This developer has taken to ruining its basic apps for profit. Used to be great! Didn't need to worry about ads or wait a long time to load, but now there are constant popups and banner ads, all of which can be removed for the high high price of $14.99 per WEEK. This is a survival tool, not a game. Find something else without ads.

I do not understand all the 4 and 5 star reviews. This app is literally unusable because of all the invasive advertisements. Before you even get the application open, FIVE advertisements pop up, and it's almost impossible to close them. To avoid these advertisements, the developer wants $15 PER WEEK. That's $60 per month. Absolutely not. If zero stars were an option, that's what I would rate this application.

The app is great. However if you want to get rid of ads, there is a 7 day trial after which your subscripton renews at $23 A WEEK!! , which is a crazy, rip-off price to remove ads. No other features are added except ad removal, despite their claims and responses. Would be great app if they didn't expect to rip you off by getting rid of ads. I hate ads, and usually pay to remove them from the app and support the developer, but I'm not spending $100 a month for a Compass app!

Very well thought-out compass app. Having tried several compass apps, this is hands-down the best, with excellent extra features. Calibration & customizations are simple to do. My only quibble is 99c/month for an app I only use occasionally - I avoid subscription apps as much as possible, and this isn't an exception. If it were a one-off payment $5-$10 I wouldn't hesitate.

works great. A few more notifications. One of those things you might need. also has a pretty neat level that is another tool. and a strobe light that would be handy if you broke down on the side of the road. only had this app for two days. Haven't had to hit the woods yet. Wonder if it works if GPS or mobil connection is lost? Good luck

EDIT: I guess greed gets everyone eventually, today I opened the app to 2 Fullscreen full-volume annoying af ads before I could use the app. I would have considered paying to remove ads if it was a single-time payment, but they want you to subscribe, giving them your card info so they can automatically charge you every month, which is ridiculous for a compass app. On top of that, the price of said subscription is absurdly high! You're better of buying a smartwatch with free compass function!

This app doesn't allow you to use it unless you subscribe. It gives you a 7 day free trail. Thereafter, it bills you R259.99 weekly. There's no option to skip this screen and to use this app without subscribing. My rating will remain 1 star until this issue is seen to.

The app WAS great, then the developer threw in ads and demands $60/month to turn them off. it's billed at $14.99/week. If the ads weren't full screen ones that interrupt the experience with fake X buttons to close, it would be a 4 star app. response to developer: there's no way a compass app is ever worth $2/day for no ads or support. Ever.

I'm still learning about the app, but I was wondering about the zero degrees, on the next slide. However, I did came to the conclusion, that's a tool to help you know the angle to place your phone so that it's a more accurate reading for N E S W? If I'm wrong could someone help explain. Other than that, no ads (so far), and an app I would recommend.

I installIPhone. Android app to replace another compass app that isn't supported by my phones OS any longer. Short answer. This compass is inaccurate compared to an actual compass and compass apps on my Iphone. I recalibrated several times and the directional bezel goes west when I turn east and sitting still it jumps back and forth. Even the free version is t worth it if it isn't true. Am deleting the app.

The most reliable and essential compass app available! "This compass app is truly a five-star tool. The performance is flawless and pinpoint accurate, providing consistent and responsive direction readings every time I open it. The design is sleek and intuitive—it's so easy to quickly find my bearing. Whether I'm hiking or just trying to find North in a new city, it is an indispensable tool. Highly recommend!"

I've had this app for some time on my phone (literally years) never had an ad. I needed to use the compass urgently and I had to endure the ad before the compass could be accessed, Instead of having ad alongside the app. Unfortunately not being to access the compass immediately, I will be installing this. :( It was a good app.

Used to be my go to compass or level. But since a recent update this app is full of ads and it costs 15$/week to disable them which is a ridiculous price for a compass. To me this seems like a scam where the developer is hoping for some people to accidentally sign up to the service. The developer is commenting on it saying it is worth the price but the only perks of paying are no advertisement and customer support (why would I call customer support for a compass?)

This app used to be ad free (or maybe just in the bottom), now it's full screen sound and video ads everyone you use it, terrible when hiking and conserving battery. I was ready to pay one time to keep the compass ad free but you gotta be kidding if you think I'm paying 5 bucks a week for a compass. Uninstalled.

I've had this app installed for probably over 5 years now and just opened it for the first time in over a year to use the leveling function. Come to find out, it's now filled with ads that just cause the app to absolutely crawl on startup, with a subscription that costs FIFTEEN DOLLARS A WEEK. Absolutely disgusting. The original app was ad-free, lightweight, and I'm pretty sure was open source as well. If I had to guess, the original app was purchased by these new developers. Uninstalling now.

Used to be an excellent simplistic compass app, and suddenly the developers went delusional and now this thing has a premium subscription that costs more than a streaming service?? It would have been fine if it was just a subscription to support the devs, but full screen ads? I can buy a physical compass and spirit level for a fraction of the annual cost of this app. And they don't have ads, the delusional devs probably didn't know this I guess.

This app has been ad-free and very lightweight since it was released in 2016. A recent update has ruined that, and it is now overflowing with pop-up ads. The cost to remove them is a completely absurd $14.99/week subscription. I highly recommend looking elsewhere or buying an actual physical compass for that price.

Please don't comment that ads are a free trial... The app was once free, had no ads and didn't require any payment at all, it was once from r-apps and worked beautifully but it has recently changed to a new company that charges a humongous $15 fee every week to get what was once free... (Please use an online apk from the older r-apps version, that's the only way you'll be able to get everything in a non scammy and fair way... Cuz it was free for years and now is suddenly a "paid app"...)
