CP24: Toronto's Breaking News

Probably connected with the latest update, but the app freezes on opening and needs to be closed multiple times.

A news app that reports local traffic accidents, crimes etc., but not important world news, so many are missing. I need to use other news app to complete what are missing from this app. The best thing about this app is that it tells you that you've read it.

I'm giving this app a chance because options for accessing news are rapidly dwindling. I can't afford to buy cable or shell out monthly subscription fees to individual channels. So far, it's not the best but at least it's free with ads. It's very unfortunate that this app will not install or work on my TV device (Nvidia Shield), but I can stream from my phone. I also keep getting notifications, despite the notifications preference being switched to off.

live view is always always dropping while the ticker news continues in real time

The app doesn't allow me to watch the live feed. I've reinstalled it multiple times and nothing. running on pixel 7. crappiest phone on top of that.

I've been watching CTV News with this app at 6:00 all the time but now it just buffs and circles and it doesn't open up. so I'll go back to global News app or Pluto TV. thanks for trying

Great app to have. Need to work on having videos play, instead of sorry unable to play video.

I have an LG G5. Somehow my notifications are still working, but when I try to open the app it keeps saying "content not available". It's been going on for over 2 weeks now and I don't know what else to do. I tried restarting my phone, uninstalling then reinstalling it, clearing data, etc. and it's still not working. I have been having to go online. This app used to be useful. I don't if it's my phone that's the problem or something else. The last thing i want to do is uninstall updates 😫😫😠😠

I'm not sure if it's just me, but none of the Bell Media (CP24GO, CTV GO) apps are working on WiFi, they only work on my mobile data. I used to watch live, until I realized that it was using up my monthly data, even when I had WiFi enabled at home. Just to make things clear, I upgraded my phone, and am still getting the same problem.

There are always so many typos in your articles. The app continuously resets to the top article after scrolling down, passing the 3rd or 4th article. The ad pop-ups are horrible and can't be closed, interrupting the ability to scroll continuining reading the article. Certain articles have the associated news clip that opens without any option to close it. Don't waste your time or the space this garbage app takes up on your phone.

I used to love CP24. But then I found it to be more and more irksome. Every single day, I find typos, spelling errors, grammatical impossibilities. You really need to find an Editor who can do the job. One who knows nouns, verbs, where to place a comma, etcetera. Today, I read that a man's 3 sons had been 'DRAFTER' to the NHL. Were they less to the NHL? Were they more to the NHL? IT has come to the point where I just don't want to watch anymore. Call me if you'd like any assistance.

Unfortunate update. This new update strongly mimics the CTV News app (both owned by Bell), and although is visually appealing it is lacking in previous functionality. For example, you can no longer just swipe left/right to move between news stories. Facebook integration is also gone, so to share an article you have to click on the Facebook icon which then loads it up as a webpage in Chrome to share. An unnecessary step compared to before. If it ain't broke then don't fix it!

Works great for me. I read it a few times a day as they add news as it comes in. Not as many updates on they come in. I really appreciate being able to read everything without having pop up videos interrupting me. If you watch a video there will be 1 short ad before the video starts but that is expected.

Way too much running ads. It runs like tv. So I'd rather watch tv instead. Save the data. Sorry for those who has to watch on phone. But there other platforms. Why waste so much time watching ads? Update 2020.09.30 The ad issue is less severe. But the App loads up very slow. Often up to a minute and over. So my star rating remains the same.

New update pushed out slowed down the app significantly. Sure the user interface is nice, but it comes at the cost of performance. I'm also not too happy with the bookmarking button being on the far right. If you use your phone right handed, you are bound to bookmark articles unintentionally.

Great app. Would have given it 5 stars if their 'breaking news' pop ups actually went to the main article more often. App itself is fairly easy to navigate and concise. I like that with your cable provider you can get access to CP24. While on vacation in Florida it was helpful to be able to check in on what was going on at home.

All of a sudden there are so many intrusive ads. Literally covering 80% of my screen at times with videos that you can't close without being redirected to another website. For shame. I just want the news, not get bashed over the head with ads... How appalling...

Horrible update. Difficult to navigate. I try to click on a story and it saves the story instead. Headings are confusing. It's like someone just rolled out of bed one morning and thought "I think I'll design an app today! That'll be fun." I don't think anyone tested it before roll out. I'll probably be removing the app until they work out the design and tech flaws.

Though I mainly used it for the weather, its the only thing that updates when I open it. I've tried to force refreshing but the same story loads. The only thing in the story that refreshes is the time I last refreshed. On our TV, CP24 refreshes the blurbs once every 20-30 minutes and is ad supported. But here on the app which is also ad supported nothing gets updated.
