Went from a 4 star app to a 1 star app with one update. Most of the functionality it had has, for whatever reason, been removed. You can group lamps together, but you cannot control them as a group as a group in the same way as before the update. Scheduling appears to be a thing of the past, unless you happen to be the software engineer, or it's an option hidden somewhere in a jumble of pretty confusing and in no way straight forward commands. The lamps are great. Software, not even ok.

Came home last night and all Cree bulbs no longer operational. Tried everything including uninstalling / reinstall app. Nothing fixes it. Already spent too much time trying to fix. Ordered different brand today. These Cree bulbs are getting tossed. Had for only about 6 months. Read that Cree made their money and ran. Sold out to Ideal Lighting. Obviously they aren't too interested in supporting considering all the comments about how unresponsive they are.

Technically it works... ish... Setting colors works, but routines and schedules don't. Setting color patterns is rudimentary and hidden under the name "create your team". There seems to be no way to save colors, patterns, etc. and reuse them for other bulbs. Bulbs are constantly changing to undesired colors (or white) due to the app seemingly forgetting what state every bulb is in all the time. The bulbs work, it's just the software that sucks. Don't buy unless you dont need any features.

Just got a 60W bulb with color today, and so far it works as expected. It requires 2.4GHz internet connection, but I am still able to control the light with 5GHz and 4GLTE on my phone. You also need to sign up with an email and provide location to use the app. As for the white light, it has a pretty good range from a fairly warm (Almost orange) color, to a very clean white. The colors aren't quite as bright, but that's expected as well, they still look good and you can choose any color using a color wheel from full saturation back to white and the brightness can be fully controlled by a slider as well. Scenes allow you to set 2-8 colors which periodically change by either a fade or a flash. It doesn't continuously flow between colors, but will periodically swap them depending on the speed you set. For the $10 I spent on the bulb, I'm happy with it.

The light itself is cool, i got it because you are able to choose colors. Set up was fairly ok, but actually scheduling times for it to turn on and off? It is sooo bad. There are no clear instructions for all the scheduling. What you set up doesnt work half the time and the scenes feature doesnt even stay on. You have to manually choose a scene EVERYDAY. For some reason, even after connecting to your wifi, and using an app, it also request your address to be able to set up some stuff.

The overall UI is OK. But inconsistency kills the convenience. Almost every day, maybe every other, I have issues with the lights. There's 2 in one room grouped together. But one keeps doing its own thing and it takes a few resets of the app to get them in sync. Also when that happens I can't scroll up to the group option. Screen "locks" at the bottom and I can only refresh when I try to scroll. Overall more frustration than I want to deal with. Just so much cheaper than the option from Philly.

Groups don't have "Add to home screen." Why? Single devices have this but groups do not, rooms have several light bulbs and grouping them makes it faster and easier to control them all at once but groups don't have an "Add to home screen" feature to encourage this. If the company wants people to own more of their products I think this hinders that. Other than that I've had a wonderfully smooth experience using the light bulbs and the app.

App crashes anytime I do anything other than change colors. I go to add a schedule "please try again later", I try to add a style to the schedule "please try again later". Then the app just crashes if I keep trying, even if it's days apart. The app is great and reactive with lights if you manually operate them, but doesn't work with almost ANY automation.

So far I've had few problems with the bulbs or the app. I did have a bit of an issue connecting the first bulb but after doing the reset procedure as described in the app it connected. Had no problems connecting the other two bulbs. As for the app, so far everything works as expected. No crashes, runs quick enough and is easy enough to use. The Alexa skill is one of the few that actually worked without a lot of frustration and retries. All in all, va good product, especially for the price.

The app used to work and the ability to add the lights to Google home is great, until you need to change a schedule or you want to pick a theme color and then app continues to force close you out. I've uninstalled and reinstalled 10+ times and it will not work, it just continues to force close the second all the lights load. PLEASE FIX IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Terrible app and product. I set the camera's motion detection to max sensitivity, walked in circles in front of the camera for 3 minutes and I did not get even get 1 notification for motion detected or video recording. What is the point of advertising motion detection in your camera when it does not work? The huge list under Q&A is also a nightmare to sort through. I can't believe they want to charge $60 a year for this garbage.

The Light needs to be reconnected to the app often. Options from the app to change colors and themes disappeared. The app says "the current version does not support the device. Please upgrade the app." I have had this for on year. Unable to find a way to "upgrade" the app. Only have access to basic colors and dimming.

I love the bulbs but the app can be very unreliable. It loses connection often and I have to close the app 2 or 3 times in order for it to work at times. Sometimes when I swap to a scene setting, it lags and it won't let me switch settings once I select a scene color option. I wish they would fix this already, I've had the app for over a year and it still can be very buggy and unresponsive.

Junk. Never paired up with Wi-Fi light. Tried Bluetooth option, "EZ" option, AP option, with hotspot, Wi-Fi etc. Light always flashed 4 times and then stopped flashing. Never was discovered. I've installed a half dozen of these types of lights before and I've never had an experience like this. A total waste of time and money. Stay away from this product and company!

so I have had these bulbs for a while now... I can safely say the concept is great if it worked.... most of the time you will turn the lights on and they will fail to connect to the app and then just start blinking until you connect the app to them again.... they require constant Bluetooth connection to work properly. the color function would have been great but it's honestly to much of a hassle. I would not recommend these lights at this point...

This app works, but just barely. EDIT: Wow, I thought this app was bad before but it's basically useless now. They took out widget support, so that I could easily access my lights for my room (turning them on and off,) and now if I want to simply turn my lights on/off I need to open up their slow, unoptimized app. I'm better off with just regular lightbulbs at this point. Turning on/off a light should take ONE step... what a terrible, terrible product.

Another application requiring physical location, email verification with code, scanning bar code for proof of purchase, and cell phone number plus more user agreements with rules to abide by just to turn on a light bulb! By the time that's done the application absolutely DOES NOT WORK! Here comes the email spam and most likely unsolicited postal mailings to my home I cannot stop. Never mind the couple hours wasted trying to fix things and the resources draining on my cell phone in the backgroun.

App used to work. Now I'm unable to set 'Home Location' (I can enter my address but it doesn't save), which makes 'Follow the Sun' useless (unable to automatically set sunrise/sunset times for my location). There's a lot of potential here. I own several Cree light bulbs and they seem to work just fine but I specifically bought them for the 'Follow the Sun' feature, which I can't use as intended.

App is great idea, no fade settings, scenes do not do typical holiday colors. Music is great if not have to play from phone and would be nice to have set of colors to pick from for both. Crashes a lot. Turning on and off lights sometimes does not go back to the previous color it was set at. Same thing if the music stops It will be on a random color and you have to go into the app of each light to resolve. 2 stars was generous for the ideas of the app, but the functionality is broken.

This is easily one of the stupidest and most ineffective apps and executions ever. The worst part is that if something doesn't go right with the app, the bulb just flashes like a slow strobe light instead of just being a dumb light bulb. I turned it on earlier and before it started flashing at full brightness, it actually blinked for a moment at the right brightness and color, which tells me that the bulb knows how to be a normal bulb, but the technology is just punishment. Awful awful.
