Crossword Puzzle Explorer

I would have rated it higher, but like so many other word games...it has turned into a money grab. after you reach the higher levels it will begin to bombard you with ads. I had to wait for three long ads before it finally loaded the next level. Sadly I will be deleting it. I do not want to pay 10 dollars to avoid ads. I understand Ada may be needed, but you don't have to bombard players with several in a row. it takes away from the appeal of a casual game, when you are spammed with ads.

The game was OK, but the overwhelming ads to do everything just put me off. If there was a way to make a one time purchase for a few bucks I'd have done it, but you could only pay for subscriptions. The gameplay itself was OK, but the clues were super repetitive and several times I was wondering if I'd already completed the particular level I was on. I'm sure there's better ones out there. Happily uninstalled.

I installed this game from the looks of an ad. Needless to say, the ad lied. I thought I was installing one that gave the clues in words & pictures. However that is not what this one is. Thw daily login rewards aren't worth the time of day. On day 50, I got maybe 8 coins today. Hints cost 10 coins. Some of the puzzles have maybe 5 clues while other have a lot more. Several of the same clues are used in puzzles back to back. At this point I'm only keeping it to break the boredom.

I really liked this game until I got into the higher ranks. then it became every clue was for something in the entertainment world. like who won what award, who played what etc. and I'm talking the whole puzzle. really irritating . couldn't even work the puzzle around it to guess, It was the entire puzzle. and you can't get around any to go forward. so I deleted it and reinstalled. if it does that again, I'm done with it. update- I'm uninstalling. It's not fun

Ads ruin this game!! And why do you put an "x" on the ad when it's not even active?? The player can't close the ad and keep the game, so that's when I swipe the whole thing away! I refuse to be forced to click on your stupid ads!!! I'm done! You want more detail but have you played the game yourself? Do you not get the same ads? It pops up in my top right corner and starts this audio that you can't turn off without opening the ad. The last one was McDonald's and I don't want to hear anything!

In my journey for entertainment through games I have found the crossword explorer to be fun and a great way to challenge myself to finish each puzzle faster! I was pleased to find that I was not bombarded by advertising during the puzzle thank you and the advertising was not the type that doesn't allow you to return to your puzzle we all know how annoying they are and it just turns you away from the products they peddle and sometimes the games we enjoy.

Several annoyances with this game. 1, they keep randomly turning on the "boosters" every other puzzle. 2, the clues are repetitive and not challenging. They literally give you the answer a lot by telling you what word it "rhymes" with. 3, the ads are irritating. You have to click an 'x' three different times but they make the 'x' so tiny that you end up clicking on the actual ad. And you can't even pay to get ad free. Deleted.

ANOTHER EDIT: Not only do youu view an add after a game, then another before you actually begin next puzzle, and then, now, little voice ads come up while playing games! Yes, ads are important, but this is ANNOYING! EDIT: This should be called "The Ad Game!" You'll spend more time watching ads than playing! I enjoy the game, but the ads are extremely annoying! Most free aps have ads, but these seem excessively long and annoying! Apart from that, I'm enjoying it so far!

The ads in this app is unreal. There is an ad when you win, before you can play and if that isn't bad enough they have ads while we are solving puzzles. If you want a game to relax, this is not it. They force you into competing with other players, there is no way to opt out. Even if you close the game they force you into competing. The cost to opt out of ads is extreme compared to most aps. I am finding a new crossword ap.

This is a money grab game, at first you are able to earn in game coins used to buy hints etc in the game, that's good so that when you get stuck you can get help. Yet after a few rounds your coins go into a piggy bank (like other games), which you MUST buy in order to get said coins, you get NO OTHER coins unless you buy. Then many of the clues are so obscure that no one would know the answer. And to top it off, gameplay is different from the ads.

Interesting puzzles, plenty of hint options, not too difficult, thoroughly enjoyable. I changed my rating because of the pop up game at the beginning of the daily puzzle that must be accepted in order to play the puzzle. It's annoying. It needs to go away. Nothing has changed.same pop up making you play a race in a daily game with no way out, not even an X out. Next time I delete.

It's a good game, difficult enough. I played for a week or so before a new pop up ad showed up in the top right of the screen, with audio. There's a speaker button, but you have to listen to part of the ad before the button appears ... Every time. Why an audio ad on a crossword game where you want to concentrate without distractions ?! Get rid of it !!

Left a review a couple of weeks ago which doesn't seem to appear. The clues don't always make sense. Just found a 2nd instance where the answer to the clue is "stow" and the clue says in parentheses rhymes with brow. This one was on #639. Other than a few mistakes, the app is entertaining. U can easily earn coins. I have 2400+ and I've never paid for any of them.

I love Xword puzzles & was excited to play this one based on the ad. However, it wasn't anything like the ads pictured. Nothing. I played thru a few levels to see if what was advertised was on higher levels. Nope. So I've uninstalled it. I probably won't download anything else by this maker because of the lack of trust I have in them to get what is shown in the ads. I gave them 3 stars because the app is easy to use and the ads kept short. This def isn't a case of what you see is what you get.

Having played over 500 games, to see if the difficulty increases, the puzzles are merely ok for passing the time, but they are often a bit simplistic, without an option to choose your difficulty. Often the clues are a bit too hand-holding. The ads are frequent, but that's par for many such games. The biggest issue is that they have started interrupting the game itself, sometimes in the middle of typing in an answer to ask me to watch even more ads to get "free" hints i neither want nor need.

There are just way too many ads. The levels are quick and there are ads between all of them. I spend *maybe* a minute on a level and then at least 30-45 seconds on an ad + another 10 seconds trying to exit the screen afterward without hitting the wrong spot and being taken to download a new game. The puzzles themselves are fun enough, but the overwhelming amount of ads ruin it for me.

It's a fantastic game, puzzles make you think AND learn. The competition is fun. But, you ran out of puzzles! I've been waiting a MONTH for more puzzles to continue playing your game. When are you adding more puzzles to your game? It can't be THAT difficult. Recycle puzzles from the beginning or mix the puzzles up and make new ones with all the answers from different puzzles. Seriously, new puzzles needed! Ok, read your response. When can I expect more puzzles or I'm gonna have to delete it.

Decent puzzles but the ads are too long, the puzzles too short, but the number of clicks to continue working puzzles instead of sitting thru an ad or trying to close the friggin' things is mind boggling! I feel for those who play and don't have a steady hand, they could be trapped in the ad loop endlessly with the X to close it being so small or non-existent due to being locked into an ad. $9.99 per month for no ads is way too much for this app. Uninstalled and moved on.

It's okay. I played over 150 puzzles and they're all a bit easy. As typical of this kind of game, it constantly tries to push you to use coins so you'll buy more. Often tries to turn on perks automatically before you start a match and puts you into tournaments so you'll use more coins, but the puzzles are so easy you'll never need to. When an ad comes on you can close and re-open the app to end it quickly. Presentation and design are nice, just not very interesting.

I ❤️ it!!!! I have been having so much fun. I have memory issues and these puzzles really make me think and i feel great when i get it right!!!! This is an AMAZING GAME!💜 I WILL BE RECOMMENDING to friends and family. one suggestion would be to limit the ads that pop up. I do like that i can skip them really fast. but otherwise, Crossword Explorer is a 10/10 from me!
