Cryptogram - puzzle quotes

Exactly what it says it is, which is refreshing. No frills, no nonsense, just cryptograms. Only thing keeping it from being a perfect score is that I often know the quote which ruins the puzzle aspect as soon as I get a word, but unless the poor dev wants to only write original sentences that are nonsense and can't be guessed, there's no getting around that if you're well read, and a string of random words wouldn't be a very satisfying solution, anyway! So it's a minor nitpick.

UPDATE1: I lost this game when I changed phones 6 years ago. It is completely adjustable, which is great. It now has ads, but they aren't terrible. It is still the best crypto game that I've played! This is an excellent game if you want think. The puzzles vary in difficulty and you can get hints at any time. I haven't seen any way to purchase anything unless you want to donate to the authors, which is a good idea. I started playing 6 months ago and I'm still playing. Lots of great sayings.

This is a wonderful game. The puzzles are great, though they do repeat sometimes with minor variations. But the biggest thing We love is that it is a free game, without predatory ads. There are ads, of course, but without fail, you can skip them after five seconds, even ads that, in other games, are thirty seconds, mandatorily, or more. And beyond this, the ads don't come after every level. In short, a great, high-quality, engaging, free game, with minimal, user-friendly ads.

Downloaded the app today and have been playing for a while now. The puzzles vary in difficulty, most of them being decently challenging. Ads are not disruptive, one playing after every few puzzles, and all I've encountered so far are skippable after five seconds. Often ads in apps are aggressive, in your face, and annoying, but they're hardly a bother in this case and are, in my opinion, perfectly reasonable for a free app. I've encountered no bugs so far. Overall, a great experience!

I'm a puzzle lover, all kinds of them. I recently downloaded a different app that had several different puzzles on it but the only one I enjoyed was the cryptogram. So I decided to search for a strictly cryptogram puzzle app. I've been addicted to this one ever since. Great app, great puzzles. Only complaint was the high price to get rid of the ads (I hate ads with a passion). Otherwise a great game.

Years of enjoyment. Even after solving everything, more content comes along at a decent rate to keep me coming back. I've been doing cryptograms (or cryptoquips in the old newspaper column) for most of my life. There are hundreds of puzzles with a good variety of difficulty, from very easy to very hard, with most being in the easier side of middle range for me - if you see word patterns it helps. The quotes are generally positive. Interface is nice. Change fonts & size. Easy to switch puzzles

Out of all the cryptograms apps I have installed, this is definitely by far my favorite. Hats off to the developer for releasing this app for free. It runs seamlessly, has a pleasant design, and includes quotes from a broad range of topics. Once you reach the puzzles from later levels, the cryptograms can become quite challenging, which is why I would personally like an option for users to "star" certain quotes or save them for later.

Some of the quotes are challenging, others are quite easy. Once you get started it is difficult to stop. The puzzle fills in the letters very quickly when you get them right. There's a rush as you complete the quote, and words appear in blank spaces. Suddenly you're done and reading the thought of a famous person. Mystery solved. On to the next one. :)

This is exactly what it says it is. Cryptograms. No weird gimmicks or tricks to try to make you buy in game currency. No ads. Just Cryptograms. It is so rare to find simple games like this, or word searches, or mahjong solitaire, without some ridiculous gimmick or bells and whistles to try to "catch" you. Most are clones of each other and nearly all have in game purchases. This game is perfect. Simple, uncomplicated, perfect.

This is such a fun game, I stay up way too late playing it. I LOVE and appreciate that there are no ads and hints are free. There nothing in the app that requires payment. If you have some extra money please donate to the creater! They made a fun, easy to use app! I can't express my appreciation enough. (I know this sounds dramatic, but it's because I don't have friends so I spend as much time as I can keeping my mind busy. So having no interupptions means a lot to me.)

If I ever imagined a cryptogram game, this would be it. It's simply cryptograms and that's it. You can pick the difficulty you want to play and just play until you're tired. There are no intrusive, privacy-violating apps. All the developer asks is a donation if you want. This game deserves donations. It's that good. Thank you for making a classic game so enjoyable and keeping it simple.

Simple in design but seriously makes you think. The puzzles get tricky but you feel pretty great when you solve one quickly. My only complaint (and it's honestly not a complaint) is that there's no button to have the game solve a particularly difficult puzzle. It's not an issue because you can always skip the puzzle and come back later! Update: 18/11/20 I still play this game all the time! It's the one app game I've carried over from old phones.

This is cleanly formatted, with a nice variety of quotations. My only request might be more than two theme color options. I am really enjoying this app, it is both enthralling, and quickly rewarding. Edit and Addendum: New colors, fonts and settings are great! I still love this as a relaxing word puzzle app, and use it often. I feel like it keeps my vocabulary skills from deteriorating. Thanks for the good work!

A virtual book FULL of puzzles! Literally hundreds of cryptograms from various people on a wide assortment of topics with, my favorite part, absolutely no ads!! It has a gradually increasing difficulty, yes, there are puzzles with not a single letter to guide you but so far, I've done a few hundred, there have been no errors, no glitches, no unfair slang or other curveballs. There's no score built in, no achievements or that type of fluff, just straight puzzles to relax or kill time with.

Great game! There appears to be an issue with Puzzle 1432. After completing it, it won't clear. I tried it several times, double-checked it for correctness & completeness, cleared and redid it repeatedly, and even reset all the puzzles; but the problem remains. Other than that, you've created a fantastic game for hours and hours of fun. I'm looking forward to more puzzles!! Thank you!

So far the best cryptogram game I've found on the Play Store. The puzzles are pretty good. Optionally it can give you one letter from the puzzle at the beginning. You didn't do it if we shows you what letters are possible based on what you've already used. It does have a major bug: if auto advance is turned on it will go to the wrong letters. This can be frustrating as it will cause you to type the wrong letters all over the place.

Really solid cryptogram game. The puzzles have a good difficulty variety. I appreciate being able to configure the settings so I can change the font and background color. Most of the time, the solutions aren't horrible puns or really forced jokes like the Cryptoquips you get in the daily paper. Honestly, the only thing I'd change is, sometimes I feel as if there aren't enough initial "free" hints.

I'm hooked! I love this game! It's great way to build dendrites while killing time. The puzzles are just hard enough to keep you working for your wins! ... If you like puzzles, you won't be disappointed. There are hundreds to choose from through a myriad of subjects. With more puzzles coming out on a regular basis, you'll find it hard to get to the bottom of the list. It's endless, I say!! 🤣 And there are ZERO ANNOYING ADS TO DEAL WITH! GREAT JOB DEVELOPER! 🥂

I enjoy cryptograms and there is a nice variety here with no ads which is wonderful. Not too keen on the type selection, it's too easy mix apostrophes with commas, but not too bad once you get used to it. The scoring is based solely on the time it takes to solve the puzzle. To be honest a timer is all I need. Not sure what kind of scoring rubric would work better than what's here. Hope everyone enjoys this app as much as I do.

I highly recommend this CRYPTO app. Call me an addict, but I do enjoy the small chances to play just one more puzzle during my day (the few more minutes that something needs in the oven, or the putting something back into the dryer for just a moment, or the waiting for the 3d STL model to get sliced into GCODE). Did I say no ads? I meant to mention no ads, and cool quotes, and nice UI behavior too. 2025: I am still enjoying CRYPTO! 5 stars are not really enough to convey how much fun this is.
