DC Metro and Bus

Edit: I paid for no ads, and now have ads. Seriously? I want to love this app. WHEN it is working, it's by and large a pretty accurate app. The payment for ads is a one time payment and not a subscription. That being said, this app regularly goes through periods where it does not pull live bus data at all. Right now I can't even search for the bus route. The other large issue is the fact that the stop numbers do not line up with those posted.

the ads are insanely obnoxious. they come up at critical times when you're trying to realize if you're about to miss your train. it'll be an unskippable video, with unmuteable audio that will still your music, then when it's done, you press the X and it takes you to some spam app download paid. the premium button literally doesn't do anything so there isn't even an option to get rid of them.

Not very reliable. Train says 0 minutes, doesn't come, then is just gone on the app. Too many ads. Many glitches with some stops simply not showing any busses. An uncalled for change in bus stop numbers, and how they work. I ride the metro every single day, for school and work, if this app isn't reliable with correct times or with knowing if a bus is actually coming, then I can't do what I need to do.

Doesn't give no where near accurate information at all anymore. It's off by 20 to 30 mins. It used to work but not sure what happened in the past month or so. For example, I'm waiting for the train and it just showed up but the app says the next train is in 22 mins. Unless this issue is fixed, I'll be uninstalling and just going to the DC matro website

I don't use Metro, bus or rail, very often but this app makes riding much easier by cutting my wait time. Especially useful if the weather is bad. 2021 update: Originally rated 4 stars. Due to the pandemic I haven't used this app in awhile so I was surprised at those overwhelming number of ads, so many that it really tried your patience slogging thru them. There's no way to skip and they just pile in top of each other. Screw that. Uninstalled it.

This app has gone downhill. You push location permission and the Nearby part of the app gives you your location with no bus information. If that isn't bad enough, it has twice the unnecessary ads now and does half the work. They need to fix this or lose the ads because it's not worth it.

When the app is functioning, it's great to have. However, recent updates have removed bus stops from the map so you can only look up by bus line; changed station identifier numbers rendering existing favorited stops defunct; added a random imaginary metro line; and for customers who paid to avoid the very annoying ads, added the ads back in (they're was no other benefit to buying the free app). Seems their new programmer is not up to snuff.

it's okay to have ads it's annoying when the ads constantly freeze with no way to skip or exit them without closing the whole app. and that sucks when you are trying to access information fast. it can take multiple attempts

Utter garbage, gives zero real time update for buses, shows no time table to know when a bus should come, and ofc having ads just to find out that you can't see when the next bus is coming. I don't understand how the only thing that changed was the icon, while the app itself is just trash. I have no clue who you people hired, but you need to get your priorities straight. The fact the website is 10x much better than this app is pathetically sad.

Useless. Many WMATA buses operate with 'not in service' displayed, and don't appear in this app. Even at a busy station like the Pentagon, the app often has no buses displayed even though one might be boarding right in front of you. The app won't offer any additional information so long as WMATA lacks the means to reliably track and manage realtime data about its buses.

App works well, have been using it for years. Occasionally the bus won't have the GPS on so there may look to be a gap that isn't there. Regardless a good app. The only reason I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is the ads. I would be willing to pay to get rid of them but there doesn't seem to be such an option which is aggravating. The ads are long, loud and constant.

I love the app and find it highly reliable, but I'M ANGRY with the developers and METRO itself for not only allowing more ads, but intrusive ads, that occasionally COVER THE ENTIRE SCREEN! Someone wrote that Metro has a paid app, is that true? I don't see one, but if it exists I will buy it. I don't anticipate Metro decreasing the number of ads - they need the revenue.

App is pretty good, but doesn't cover all the available bus routes. It only covers buses for D.C. and Virginia, bit it doesn't cover the Maryland bus routes, particularly those that run in the areas just outside of D.C. Future inclusion of those routes would make this an all around great app. Plus, the increase in adds is very irritating.

I've used this in the past specifically 2020 I used it all year to get me to and from work. I've re-download it and my issue is that it's just overall not responsive. The location locator won't save my home address, work address, or any address I put in the trip planner search bar. Therefore i cannot find train routes. I'm giving this a 1 star because I can't use it. Developer should figure out what the bugs are.

Just downloaded this because my previous app doesn't seem to work any longer. Nor does this one. Apparently it just shows ads unless I register. Why should I have to do this? Plus it wants way too many permissions. Very intrusive. I have uninstalled it. Use the WMATA site instead. It's clunky but it works.

Piece of c***. I have allowed all permissions, Trip Planner will not find any locations (uses Google Search which I have installed). I cleared cache & storage, un- and re-installed. SAME PROBLEM, VERY FRUSTRATING. I hope it's something I'm missing because it would be very handy to be able to use the app.

I have deleted and re-download this app multiple times and it consistently will not load, no matter how good my internet connection is. update: I have my phone and this app set up to receive alerts. I check consistently to see if I have my settings correct, but I still never receive alerts.

Not reliable for bus. Too many times the clock on the app does not sync with Metrobus in real time and will say your bus is closer or farther away than it actually is. The pop up ads are not accessibility needs- friendly: A blind user would not be able to hear the bus announcements on this app because the ads play over the bus arrival time announcements. Sometimes a listed bus will disappear from the app altogether. This app is only reliably accurate for Metro rail.

It worked better before the ads. Bus stops are out of order, last stop in a line isn't provided and doesn't match what the bus's end stop says. For example, I'm waiting for the 90 bus to Anacostia metro station. The stupid app lists it as "North to Metroway." No idea what that means. Fix this.

The other app I had no longer appears in Google play and hasn't been updated in awhile but it did still work but didn't have an updated Metro map. So I uninstalled that app and I'm now trying this app for awhile. It would be nice to have a widget with this app. Can that be possible in future updates? If this app Improves I'll update the stars. Giving it 3 stars for the time being. Also you need to fix the Metro rail map...the yellow line doesn't go all the way to Greenbelt.
