Deputy gives me real-time, one-click, access to my work schedule. It also keeps track of how long I have been on break so I don't go over. Working a flexible schedule has never been easier! My employer hasn't enabled clocking in on the app: I like the cohesion between the phone app and the app on the company time-clock. If I had the option to set a reminder alarm for two minutes before start-of-shift or end-of-break, I would be even MORE thrilled 😀
always something different when I try to clock out, sometimes I can't find a clock out button at all and hours later, after my shift has ended, then it appears. getting tired of this, my shift ended forty five minutes ago and can't clock out. i've closed down the app and restarted the phone. still nothing. really great software folks.
App works perfectly most of the time. Recently while choosing shifts, it will give an error message "no internet connection", but I am connected to the internet. It does not happen in just one place. It happens at home while i'm connected to my internet and it will also do the same thing at work connected to their internet. When this happens, it will not allow me to choose a shift
Overall a decent app. Only issue is the constant glitches. I've had past issues of not receiving notifications. Others in our company have had issues that are only corrected with Uninstall and reinstall. My current issue is not being able to message individual employees. Only able to message employee groups. When looking in the people list, I can see all employees (I think) but their ability to be contacted is gone and it says they have not accepted the invite.
Would rate 5, but the mobile version does not work as well for me since the last update. It used to run so smoothly, and I have enjoyed using it for the last two years. But now, neither my shift notes nor unpublished shifts on my desktop sync to mobile, and vise versa. I also can't select any employees to work a shift. These issues make the mobile version almost useless to me. I do like how the app keeps track of your break☕️ Will change back to 5 stars when issue is resolved for Android.
It's a pretty good time tracking app/website. I do like some of the notifications - like shift reminders, but despise the way that they remind you to take lunches and clock off. If I am already on lunch, I do not need to be reminded to take one. If I am clocked off, I do not need to be reminded to take a lunch or clock off. It may sound insignificant but I spend about 15-30 unpaid minutes a week dismissing/checking on work related "reminders" to do what I have already done.
I enjoy this App because it's easier to see your schedule and to clock in and out of work and for breaks! Asking for a day off is also a plus and switching shifts with someone! Before we would be waiting in line taking turns to write down our time we started work and at the end of the shift also breaks, it was a pain! I recommend this App it's awesome!!!
Ridiculously poor customer service. The online version is good, and ios was decent, but had problems getting the Android app hooked up & running correctly. 3 emails and more than a month later & they haven't even bothered to respond. If they were actively trying to be as unhelpful as possible, they probably couldn't do any better than they are now.
[Edit] Issue has been resolved, and the app works beautifully. Thanks, Deputy, for a great product and great customer service. [Original] It's a decent app. The only issue I have with it is, when uploading an image to be posted, I get the "Cannot find file" error. This doesn't happen when uploading pictures taken through the app. Other than that it's almost seamless. Fix this issue and I'd give it 5 stars.
Love the functionality of the app, gave it 4 stars because there are still some bugs. But most effecting me and my co-workers, for some reason when I go to add a message to the news feed I can only select the entire staff and not individual employees. This issue comes and goes so I know it's possible but the list of people to send a message to is not populating. Thanks, if fixed will change to 5 stars, keep up the good work, it makes my every work day better.
I find the app very useful! my only downfall is that I never get notifications on it anymore like shift changes and such, I did for the longest time, and they randomly just stopped. When I get text notifications about the schedule it always messages me 2 weeks after the shifts that I've already worked. I've tried updating the app. uninstalling it, then restarting my phone and downloading it... I cant find a solution other than checking the app everyday.
i work from home and we started using this earlier this year to keep track of hours. pretty handy and fairly easy to use, especially since you can also clock in and out from their website if you've logged in since some people may still not have a smartphone, good call on their part. one thing I do agree on with some other reviews is that it would be awesome if there was an option to add an alarm feature/function to alert you at some point before your shift starts to give you a heads up.
App works well and seems to have a lot of great features, but it was useless to me. I couldn't send invites to my team through the mobile app, and it took forever to try and create schedules. It's easier to just drag and drop into a spreadsheet or Google calendar. There didn't seem to be any easy way to use this app without paying for the desktop version. Which is bad enough, but it also makes you pay for the mobile app on top of that. Solid app but not small business friendly.
We are supposed to be able to roll back the time when clocking out at the end of our shift(if we forgot to clock out). Well lately, when I roll back the clock and hit (save) it doesn't save and shows the actual time, not the adjusted time. I have contacted my company(payroll) about this timesheet issue. Since we've been using Deputy for the last few years, the problem comes and goes. I'm hoping this issue gets fixed. I was told to update any new version of the app, but I don't see where.
amazing app! I use it for work and now is my day to day app, my first to go in the morning and the last one I check before bed, it really makes my life, my work, the balance between those, so much easier, I handle my schedule and shifts with ease and keep everything updated 4 tracking and monitoring of my performance, I just love it! all the features it has allow me to record accurately all my time at work, my breaks, my working schedules, everything even internal comms between the team 5⭐s.
user friendly, but notifications are intrusive, you can't pick what notifications you want on and what you don't want on, and then an email is sent as well 'why'? give us the user to control the notifications ... A feature you should add is after a shift or an event is writing notes on the event that occurred.
as an ex manager I understand the importance of scheduling and having a system that allows not just managers. but employees to have access to neccassary information. Deputy seems to cover it all and I highly recommend it for any business looking at giving their employees and management team a smooth and easy to use platform when it comes to scheduling, sharing information and keeping their teams updated on what's going on. AAA+++
My shifts don't show up on landing page consistently. I have to wait a while and just hope they show up when I open the app. More often than not, I end up having to check on my PC via the website when the app doesn't work
Spectacular! Honestly this is a wonderful staff roster app and it's so easy to use and has a lot of features. When my workplace asked me to download an app to view my roster at first I was very hesitant because I don't like the modern way of having to download Apps or QR codes for daily interaction however out of all my past experiences at previous jobs and the way they would send out rosters, I find the Deputy app to be a brilliant, easy to use and the best way for rosters to be sent out.
Easy to use but it has one weird bug whenever an employee works over 13hrs in a shift, ie. if I was scheduled for 11am to 12am next day, but for any reason had to work until 1am and only then clock off, the system simply says "no way you worked that" and, the next day it gives me the "Your timesheet of xxx was automatically closed after having been left in progress for 23 hrs and 10 min", even though I DID close it. then it proceeds to steal how many hours I worked extra. got contact HR again
