if I could give you zero I would. I'm tired of having to call customer service go through 20 can't speak to no one the one person I did speak to you told me to reload the mobile app which I did and it still won't let me log in. I have to call Press a bunch of options just to find out things going on in my account or my balance I signed up for an alert when there's a deposit made I've been using this for over a year and never received a notice unless I call and go through all the button pushes.
I've had nothing but problems since day one.I've had this account for 2 months and they canceled my card because it's been compromised, withoutout them contacting me or any notification. Every purchase I go to make online is declined!! They're controlling the way you spend your money. When they sent me a replacement card it took me 24 days and I had zero access to my funds or account during the wait. Scary to think that I intrusted them with my money. They are horrible, steer clear!!!!
There is something very strange going on with my account. I'm showing two "reversal debits" that list as being from Direct Express on 1/28/2026 and 1/27/2026 that resulted in money being taken from my account. Personally, I take"reversal debit" to mean that money should have been credited to my account not taken out of it. I was on with a supervisor for over 46 minutes trying to figure out how this could be and why they don't see the same charges as I do and got nowhere. It's all very fishy.
This is the absolute worst banking app in the world.Basically, it's completely worthless. Mastercard has control over whether or not you can buy something and if you call customer service, they can't do anything about it and you can't get ahold of Mastercard and if you can call their main customer service, they can't do anything about your direct Express card but direct Express Can't do anything about your Mastercard. But it's the same card. Just go get a bank account.
It would be great if it allowed me to log in using my thumb. It would be great if it let me log in at all. It says my info doesn't match anything in their system when I try to reset my password. I know for a fact it is all correct and should match. But it's telling me it doesn't. Almost like they deleted my account. I sure hope that isn't the case, but someone in the reviews had that happen to them recently. Absolute dumpster fire of an app. Get your sh together, people rely on you.
App never recognizes a password, or allows for the full password if it's too long. Can't reliably get a hold of their "24/7" customer service. Can't access the app at all because it won't acknowledge the brand new password I set on a 10yr old account. This new app is terrible and there's no need for 2 separate apps for the same company. Everyone should have the same access to their account.
I hate this app! This is so much to do just to see what your balance is, your purchases! I think you should change it back to the original Way to login!!! After it locked me out, I tried to reset it, I had to call customer service, and they informed me that they were currently updating there system and needed to wait until they finish. But, they ( Linda) don't know when they would be done. Anyway it's too much to do, when it was much easier before!
Too many issues, poor customer service and some of the representatives speak poor poor English. It's definitely time for a change in who I entrust my money (direct deposit). Locked out & declined purchases and calling customer service and receiving a recording to call back in 30 minutes with no explanation as to why. Scary feeling knowing I had plenty of money to cover my purchases and there was nothing I could do but wait. I guess all good things do come to an end. 👎
Installed new app, set up card info, signed in all great. Then tried to sign back in later, tells me my info is wrong and wants me to call to verify my card. Screw that, I will just call for balance on the automated line. The other app had been fine for years! Then you go changing to something that apparently doesn't work for anyone! Great job, smh!
I hate the new app! I can only get a month of transactions, and It takes forever to load. Beware, if someone gets your account information, and can get into your account again, even after closing the account. Direct express, will deem the first one suspicious, and take the money back that was stolen the first time. Without investigating the fraudulent transactions. It happened to me, two months in a row. When, I investigated the transactions, they were all false sites. No investigation!
I started using US Direct Express around 5 years ago. I logged into account and could review transactions from each month, up to a year prior. Now, it only allows me to look back 90 days. Also, it's never showed a monthly balance, only a balance when you log in, so I would take a screenshot of the balance and refer to that. It would be improved if it had a monthly balance to refer to for a specific date, just like credit unions or bank statements. Please fix these issues. I don't like the new ap
I wish I could give it a big fat ZERO!!! Ever since I updated to the new app it hasn't worked. I have been having to use the phone service, which you can't see your transactions place or pending transaction. I've been on the phone over an hour now trying to check on a cash transaction that was made while I slept. Customer service hangs up because of heavy call volume, no option to wait. So I chose to dispute a transaction and I've been on hold forever. The old app would've answered all questions
CS told me there is an issue with this app on Android. There is no timeframe for when the app might get fixed, though they are working on it. The older version also most likely will not work if you have already registered with the new app. Anyone needing to call CS should call after 9pm, since the call volume is much lower. My app worked fine until around 11:30pm last night. I had no issues registering or anything, but I was forced into doing so before the end of last year.

This app is always a nightmare whenever it updates and wants you to register your card again I've noticed it seems to take months before they get all the issues worked out so that can be done. When it worked it at least worked for basic information but looks like I'm back to the website for a few more days until I can get to an open bank to withdraw the remaining balance and close this account for good. I haven't been able to open the app since I've installed it. Every once in a while I could get the old app to open, now I get told "for a better banking experience use new app" My money disappeared last month. This month, I'm afraid to even use the card except to pay a bill, even that's iffy! Never know if you are going to get declined. When you are finally able to speak to a live person, I'm told no transportation came thru! This is a nightmare!
Frustrating. I don't get alerts AT ALL I'll set them but every time I open the app, they're gone. When I ask for paper statements I don't get an entire month's worth of transactions, if i even get it but I'm paying for it. Transactions will show up as if u purchased it the day after you did too. Edit: still don't get alerts, none!! I can't see deposits for any month before the current month& i cant see transactions before the month prior to the current month. Don't I have a right to a statment?
This app is supposed to be able to make things easier but it won't even allow me to log in. Says they can't verify my identity and to call, but when I call they say just keep checking back in???? I never had this issue with the old version. Why upgrade if the old one was way better, and didn't have these annoying issues. Not to mention how much harder the log in process is even when it does work. The list of complaints is much longer but I only mention the most irritating.
I was informed to upgrade to the new App, but after several attempts to re-register this new version refuses to allow or take my info. I've been with them for 7yrs now. FRUSTRATED!!😠 When you try to contact customer to resolve the issue. There's a long wait and when someone finally answered they put you on hold to send you to the Tech Dept., which then hang-up on you. What the HELL is going on over there @ Direct Express. I'm seriously tempted to switch to something else!!

New update...HORRIBLE! Why do you guys keep meddling with this app? Last year it was a mess. This current update isn't showing me anything on my account. My name, login, account info or balance. It stays on the open Direct Express main page. It doesn't open to the main account If I could give it zero stars I would. With EVERY change it's ALWAYS a issue with this app without fail. If it isn't broke STOP messing with it. It's frustrating and annoying. Next year there will be a new issue. 🙄
PLEASE bring the old app back. I've been trying for over a week to access my account without success. Being on a fixed income I have to keep up with every penny and I can't do that anymore. PLEASE HELP Still no luck installing the new app. My old card expires in 1 week and if I can't register new card I will have no access to money at all. UPDATE I GIVE UP! It is ridiculous how much time I have spent on this app. It is USELESS!! I'll do banking by phone.
