Great for stuff like seeing the park map with attraction wait times (though those aren't always accurate), entertainment showtimes, placing mobile food orders. Not so great for showing parade routes or car locations in parking lots (it doesn't really show you where your car is, it just lets you enter the space's # and Disney character), but it's especially deficient for showing wait times for entering the park. These are completely missing. We had to wait 50 min. The app offered no explanation.
its buggy, has a lot of rules, only works in a specific way. I hit the back key and in some places it backs out and others exits the app. Missed a couple of lunch times because it was not intuitive to understand how it works so it took hours to eat because I ended up going to another part of the park and waiting in a slow long line to eat.
The app helps in so many ways, it is so convenient. You can see EVERYTHING that is happening whether you are at the park or not. Open and closing times, order food, see the wait times for the rides, times for any performances/shows, purchase and use a lightning pass, link and buy your photos, easily scan your annual pass for discounts on merchandise and food. And you can literally type in anything and look it up in real time as well as get directions to anywhere in the park. I love it!
Unfortunately the app kept crashing. Was unable to "connect" to server. Had so many issues with connectivity that getting in line to order food was way faster than Mobile ordering. Had to retrieve reservation tickets through email confirmation instead of app because they would not load. It was very frustrating. I feel the pain now when I hear all the complaints. Great content and tools... if only we were able to access them in a timely manner.
Used app at Disneyland, and we ended up only using it to book passes. App is difficult to navigate (and app developers, suggesting that we use the bottom navigation does nothing to change the fact the entire app is garbage to navigate). Didn't seem to be able to buy the genie pass for only part of your party, so we ended up buying it for all the passes. Struggled to navigate with the map (what if I want to look for certain shops? Why can't I see a list? Why can't I filter for mobile ordering?)
Not a well designed app (Android version) with many small issues you'd think Disney would be able to fix. For instance. If you try to create an account on the app, the only option for birthday entry is to start at the current month and scroll the calendar back each month until you hit your birthday. There is no option to skip back years, nor are you allowed to simply enter the birthday in numbers. Come on Disney.
Disneyland CA was fun, but the app needs major improvements. You can display your tickets, and see wait times in the map, but most of the time it wouldn't bring up additional info about the ride. You can search for items like "ice cream", but it won't direct you to a selected location. Since parades block streets, an intelligent navigation process would be a huge help. Also, the conflicting info from employees is irritating. Some say you can bring strollers on the monorail, but no.
Payment doesn't work. It's very frustrating not being able to pay for tickets and such, tried multiple cards and called Disney just to hear to keep trying. Tried for days on end and system continues to say there's an "error with payment, try again later". I've even called my bank and the transaction doesn't even populate to say it's been declined or anything, it's just not even processing at all... Would be nice if it worked...
The app is somewhat confusing and the Maxpass has not worked for us at all. It took our payment but we couldn't access it. we had friends with us that only had 1 day and we weren't able to utilize it at all. When we called the phone number for assistance, we waited over 30 min on hold, then they weren't helpful at all. Very disappointed and very unlike Disney.
The mobile fast pass option is not worth the money! You pay $15 per person per day and can only reserve once you are in the park, one ride at a time, even if there are fast passes available later. So, was good for one or two rides which you can get in person if you get to the park when it opens or get to easily of you have magic hour. The app is good for checking ride times and having the map (to search for food, bathrooms. can make restaurant reservations and order food for pick up.
Clunky and difficult to use the app. Fortunately the staff are willing to help out. The restaurants that only allow you to pay using the app and ordering ahead really throws a kink in your day. Tried to get icecream cones from cars land and was told we had to order on the app...and then we could get the cones in 45 minutes. There was no one in line. Hopefully they don't spread that feature to other restaurants.
We use this app extensively while at Disneyland to check ride times and mobile order meals and snacks. We were at Disneyland yesterday and it's kind of glitchy when ordering food. It would say there's a problem, but if you keep trying, eventually it would go through. Ride times weren't accurate at all most of the day, but that's probably not the apps fault, just the ride operators not keeping up with the crowds. Overall, when it works, it's fabulous.
11/21/2021 Won't load half the time. 1/05/2024 Difficult to purchase park tickets and make reservations. Locked up mid transaction, then displayed an error message. It charged my card, but I didn't get a confirmation. Had to go to the website to find I did, in fact, have reservations. I then had to go hunting for my actual park tickets. The system isn't as user-friendly as it should be. The park is still the "happiest place on earth" for me, but the app is not.
Would like the rides and wait times to pop up first, especially when we're already in the park. I think it would be more convenient. And a separate tab for dining would be great. Plus, they could work on getting more accurate with wait times. We were in Peter Pan's line thinking it would be 20min but we're in the line for about 10 min (with little to no movement) before it changed and said it was a 45min wait.
app is convenient for ordering food and not having to wait in line, especially when its crowded. But unfortunately on 3 different trips it would not give me my Passholder discount. When I brought my concern to a cast member. they said they couldn't help, and the only way for me to get my discount was to get in line and order like everyone else. That is the issue I have with the app especially since there is no way to rectify the error and the discount is lost.
We bought Max Pass with our tickets and along with the app it has been great. I like how you can get Fast Passes right on your phone, saving time which is valuable when at Disney. I really like that ride photos can be linked right to my phone too. It does seem to take a long time for the photos to link, but when they finally do you can save and share them. I love not having to carry photos around with me all day!
It needs to be simplified. It takes way too many steps to get to what you need. Also, not very clear on explaining how everything works and what is needed for your day at the parks. Do I need certain things for rides or things like Star Wars or to get a fast pass? Bottom line: More clarity. Also, reserving a day for tickets, getting there is not simple. And linking tickets. I go to usethe app and it asks for me to reserve my tickets when I already have done it and link them when it is done.
For a 171.97 billion company this app should be flawless. It constantly redirects you to a website what is the point of having the app. You have to hunt down emails to get information that could be added inside the app. You can't cancel reservations day of, I get that. Why can't there be a notification within the app to let you know your status. Customer service within the app usually takes 20+ minutes for them to tell you to call a number that takes another 20 minutes for them...
Difficult to navigate. Help is not vaguely helpful - keyword search just gives you more options to buy things. Used it to mobile order at a restaurant in the park. Received a notification that my food had not been picked up and therefore my order was canceled and I would be charged for it. Luckily my food was still there. 15 min later received a food is ready notification. Instructions for Genie not self evident. Also the sheet number of periods using that makes the option a joke. Fix this
For a company as big as Disney, you'd think they'd have an app that had it all together. Do NOT rely on this app as a room/resort key. You'll get locked out. I'm constantly having to clear cache and data, forcing me to start all over with the app. It'll run slow frequently, things aren't where they should be (because they prioritize what they want you to see over what you want to see).
