Drudge Report (Official App)

the new app is terrible. why are there 3 columns of articles? it's so hard to read and click the one you want. the old way was a single column of articles, very easy to read and select. also now every time I click on one, I get a full page ad that I can't get past and have to exit the app, come back in, find the article again, and open it. very not user friendly design.

On a pixel 10 phone, pop up ads take up the entire screen to the point you cannot even see the ad (too bad for advertisers). Then, you have to enlarge the ad to Max, scroll to the upper right, & close the ad (the close button is in the notification space on the phone). Then, you get to minimize everything you just enlarged so you can read an article, sometimes it just sends you back to the home page. I sent an email a couple weeks ago, still no progress... New apps aren't always a better app.

This went from being my most utilized news app to the least used. the upgrade have made it almost completely unusable. The three column format is terrible and is done in such a way that it is almost inevitable that you'll click ads instead of content. The "menu" at the bottom is positioned in the same area of the screen as my phones (Samsung Galaxy S24) navigation which makes exiting screens and switching menues nearly impossible. There are way too many pop up ads that you cant close out.

The default three column page is not formatted for a phone display in typical use portrait mode - the column text is way too small to read. In single column mode, which is readable, large ads now take half the screen and won't go away... Not sure how or why a developer would release with such deficiencies...(well I'm sure it's for more ad revenue.) Don't upgrade if you can avoid it..

I have followed Drudge since college and love it; however, something weird happens when I click an article. Once article clicked, an ad pops up that is extremely large and I am unable to see the ad and end up just moving it so I can click close and move onto the article. Should I be seeing an ad that I can't see due to its extremely large size? May be a good ad but no clue what it is.

JAN2025 update on my review. most of what I wrote below was fixed. Now fix the ad that pops up. the close button is impossible to get to and instead I have to close the app. the December update is terrible. Get rid of the giant ad at the top. I can't read the breaking headline at the top and I can't zoom in and out anymore. this app is ruined until it gets updated again. I'm going back to the website. Go get your money back for this work. Whoever thought it was a good idea should be fired.

downloaded the app because the website full-page ad shifts when you try to click close, forcing you into the ad. On the app, the its the same issue but worse, now the close button for the full-page ad is so small and in-the-corner, jammed in next to the phone case, that the only way I can hit close is with my stylus. Nearly unuseable. I remember Drudge back in college, 2007 era, clean simple amazing. How very far it has fallen.

Just uninstalled the app, again. They redesigned so every time you click on a link a pop-up ad shows up. It often locks up the application most of the time, and if you're reading an article within the app scrolling and screen locks up and you have to force close the app. Going back to the web as obviously the means here is to generate clicks and revenue.

App functions terribly on my S23 Ultra. Often app only displays a few headlines so I have to log on to the website using my phones browser to get all stories. The "web version" link in the app doesn't work. Also, often many of the story links don't work. App used to work significantly better, but for several weeks now, it really sucks.

Navigation could be better. I'd rather swipe between the columns rather than scroll down or use the column button. It would feel more fluid. Additionally, the font size is rather large which means more scrolling than needed. As always the stories are great, this is my favorite news source. Keep working on the functionality and then it'll be 5 star worthy.

I am not a fan of this latest version of Drudge. It doesn't work at all on mobile devices where I get all three columns. There's also a glitch where sometimes a particular ad pops up and occupies the entire screen and the only solution is to close out the app completely and reload it in order to read the story, ⁷and that's only after you resize the whole thing to get one column on your screen. I'm amazed they ever let this version out to circulate, the last one was so much better.

this version of the app has been disastrous for Team Drudge. As a very, very long time, multi times per day user, I am very disappointed. The crashing and freezing are persistent and make it unbearable to use. Should have given 1 star but I still enjoy the work of the Drudge Team, the Tech Team has failed everyone.

Horrible update! In full screen it's too small to read but when you switch to column view you can't see the top headlines. Also, if you click any link it opens an ad that covers the entire screen and you can't get rid of the ad, so you can't even read any articles. Completely useless now!

The app works fine...much better than trying to view the site on a mobile device. The ads are a whole other story: most do not allow you to click an X to get out of them (often a fake X) and they fill the screen, forcing you to view them. Terrible ad management.

The updated app in Dec 2025 is trash. I hate the default full-page view and the pop-up ads on pages that appear on a mobile pov. The ads are terrible and not easy to close. The articles are difficult to traverse and read and I miss being able to scroll from the top headlines down through the columns. Is this an attempt to make more ad money or consolidate visit/click/tap counting? I loved the previous app but this is untenable and horrible to use. This will probably be buried and/or ignored 🤷🏼

Just installed new version 12/8/2025. Switched from 3 column mode to single column and ad take up 90% of my screen and I can't close them. Drudge Report is now unusable in single column mode and print too small in 3 column mode. Even in three column mode in landscape, the ad is 90% of screen. When ad shows up on first click there is no way to remove it other than to go back to Drudge and start over again. New version is terrible.

If you like full screen ads that pop up with every link you click that you can't close out without exiting the app, this is for you. Horrible mobile experience, possibly worst ever. Maybe AI could create better because whatever human thought this was good idea should be fired. This app is useless for news now. Complete failure.

love the Drudge Report but this app is terrible. there's an ad on nearly every link and when they appear they are typically so big (typically = ~95% of the time) I am unable to hit the "x" to close them as the button is hidden under my battery/wifi/signal interfaces.

Still a really good app. covers the headlines effectively. my only issue is that as I was reading, a full screen add came up completely halting what I was reading and throwing me for a loop. if the full screen adds are removed, this is easily a five star app, but until then the most I can give it is three stars.

it worked great before, the updated version is ad riddled and clunky. bummer. ok. back after trying again, I had to delete the app entirely, it took me on an ad journey through Google and tiktok. also, only seeing 1/2 screen of news with the other half being a google ad...no please. and I've been on drudge since the beginning. I know you'll work out the bugs.
