User friendly for the most part. I'm asked to update the app everytime I open it to shop. My account information is never saved after update, or I get logged out all the time. My biggest complaint is when following promotional links, it loads a ton of products that are ineligible for the discount. It's really misleading.
The app has been somewhat of a problem lately. It showed that I was logged in, yet it wouldn't register me as a VIP Elite customer when attempting to checkout. I went into the store to checkout and showed my card using the app, and it wasn't even recognized when scanned. Tried signing out, but the app wouldn't sign me out. Tried resetting the password, but it would change screens so that the code couldn't be entered. I had to delete and re-add the app then go through the reset password process.
This app is glitchier than ever before. I've enjoyed ordering shoes from here for years, but lately it's been especially painful. I've had to call customer service I've had to call customer service a couple of times and lost everything in my cart twice. The reward coupons expired in the process of waiting for resolve and all I got is compensation was a $5 voucher.
I love the app but had to change stars because I can't get my order history. The person I chatted with today was really no assistance at all. Wrote the above back in June. It is now Dec 2025 and I'm having the same issues with this app. I placed an order and the first part came to the right address but when they shipped the other half if the order, it went to an address where I haven't lived in eight years. I still can not see my order history. worst app ever!
I like that I can click on items that I've ordered to view them, which always frustrated me in the past. I also love that I can filter by material, specifically leather. The App is still so glitchy though, especially when moving from one page to another. One false move & you're right back to the beginning. Also glitchy when trying to edit your cart. I've had to leave the app & use the website at times for this reason. Also hate that there's a limit on how many items you can add to your favorites
The app is easy to navigate when choosing a product, color, or size, but the delete option in the cart is buggy. the option disappeared for me when I had a price point dependent coupon applied. I had to delete the coupon in order to remove anything from my cart. it would be better if coupons that no longer apply automatically drop off once your cart no longer meets the cost threshold.
Shopping is easy, and navigating the site is fine. Pictures are plentiful and helpful. However, I experience issues with loading pages and connecting to PayPal petty frequently. If I click on a shoe, sometimes I get an error message, and no matter how many times I go back and try again, it won't load. What happens then is I get frustrated and just close the app... meaning I don't buy the shoes.
Horrible since 2025 update! App freezes every single time I try to edit my shopping cart! I've been trying to check out for almost 3 weeks, at this point I'm just going to log in online but I just don't want the hassle of trying to remember my password and everything that will follow if I don't! Administrator, please fix whatever bug that won't allow edit of shopping cart, freezes stating "error with trying to reload cart" or the app freezes completely, and I'm not allowed in past cover picture!
The app is not clear when a size is not available, for example with socks. Discount codes and $5 off don't work on majority of items. Trouble resetting password. You have to check your email for the password reset code, but then you lose the password reset screen I the app to put the code in and wind up stuck in a loop. I wound up having to get into my computer to check my email. The app could definitely be better and more clear.
The app works fine, but it's really dumb that I can only favorite 30 pairs of shoes at a time. I'm buying new clothes and shoes for myself every chance I get. My daughter needs new shoes every few months, it seems. Asking the shoes i like to my favorites list isn't affecting inventory, so why does there have to be a limit to what I can save?!?!
Always get notification that you qualify for free 2nd day shipping but app still defaults you to free 4-7 day shipping. It's like a bait-and-switch...you have to catch them to get what you earned. Favorites sometimes just stop adding, apparently there is a limit that I'm not aware of, which is rough for a shoe lover. I also find this app to be slow more often than not. It's frustrating.
I always struggle to check out in the app. I have tried using Google pay, a credit and debit card and PayPal. It always takes several attempts to get the order to actually go through. I do like how it keeps up with all of your rewards and makes it easy to find shoes/sizes that may not be available in a local stores. Also, when I have needed to return something I purchased in the app, it is super easy at the store. I hope DSW will improve the actual checkout process in the app.
I shop on this app more than I shld. Unfortunately, it 'times out' frequently and/or it can't load the basket. If I have maxed my favorites saved, that's usually the end of my browsing for the day because it just wont load anything after that. I've missed a few big deals and orders due to this which is very irritating but then I think of the $ I saved lol. But it is disappointing to have wasted time and excitement of one less thing to buy for the school year only to have it not process.
Payment not allowed - I have been using the app for over a year without a problem. But lately, the app won't let me make a payment. When you hit checkout, it gives you the option to pay via credit card, PayPal, Venmo, PayPal, etc... No matter which one I pick, I get an alert saying something went wrong and to try again. It's been happening for days now. Very frustrating because the cashier at my local store told me I can't use the coupons from the app in store.
Still quirky. I elected not to purchase an item because the priced changed back to full price even though it was still advertised at 50% off. Then I had to try three different GOOD payment methods before the payment button worked. It didn't say anything was wrong, it just didn't do anything. I will, of course, have to check all of my accounts to be SURE I wasn't charged more than once. Please, please fix this app!!
The app repeatedly clears the fields for shipping address, billing address, and credit card information whenever you enter anything into one of those three sections. You can complete one section, then complete one of the other sections, and then when you look back the first section you completed is gone. I had to enter my credit card four times, my billing address twice, and my shipping address twice. Not worth the time when I could have just gone through the regular website.
Had coupons that were expiring today so I was trying to place an order. Selected a sandal that said "1 item in stock". I go to checkout, apply coupons, and complete the order only to receive message that item is not available. Start searching for a different shoe. It also said "1 in stock" and surprise at checkout the item was not available. What a waste of time and energy!
Very slow with lots of glitches. It often took more than five tries before it would add items to my bag. I had to restart the app three times during the process of purchasing a pair of shoes due to glitching. It would not allow me to pay with my chosen payment method, even though it is an offered option. I was eventually able to pay using a different method. What should have taken 3 minutes tops took over 15 minutes to purchase.
Love this store & the shoes they offer!, Since having to order online, my orders have been messed up. 2 Customer service reps been VERY Very rude! This whole situation has brought me to tears. Too many issues to list, but when I don't get a shipping label for returns or a purchase slip in my box, I had to improvise. Now a month later I'm getting told I don't know how to follow directions, won't honor discount, no rewards back. WTH??
No way to enlarge to see detail of product - useless. No way to read actual reviews; only provides the vague scale for star ratings - useless. Does not allow you to see full account activity details - makes you go to your laptop email to obtain all order info- wastes my time. Overall, I only really use it to see the offers that pop up in notifications; however, even those details are limited - you can't click on the details of free items see what they really look like. Useless.
