The whole point of having a smart meter is to track your energy. However, the energy hub is not even accesible from the app, and when adding meter readings it does not collect them from the smart meter but asks you to input the number. Even the basic app from Scottish gas could show usage and collect the meter readings from the meters, this is like going back in time.

The good part is that you can review charges for each separate day. The bad part is, you can't simply choose the custom time period (say 28th of October until 13 of November just as a custom example) for the app to show you a combined cost for that period (if it does have this option it's not really user friendly to find it)... Personally, I didn't experience other issues, so the lower rating I give is just for not having this very basic function included in the app and make it easy to use.
I used to love EDF, I had a key and card, and everything was great. now, then I had a piece of paper that quickly fell to pieces, taking it to the shop each week. after moving to a smart meter property, I tried to get rid of it but was not allowed!!! like a child! then I topped up on the phone, now I have to top up by an app which if the fuel has run out can take hours to go back on or I have to crawl in the cupboard trying to restart the meter. I am sick of changes that are not what I want.
can I log in, no, it's forgotten my password again, (which is handled by a pwd manager) Eventually, I get logged in, oh, I'm £60 behind in payments, ok, I'll settle, several log ins later on EDF and banking app, pay the money, nope ! there was a problem, payment declined 4x.Great way to impose late payment fines on people and screw up your credit rating. Absolute useless app, can't even change my energy tarrif. I could write a better more reliable easier App. Tried again,Nope !! God I hate them
Could not recommend at all. Can't even get final meter readings for 3 weeks, keep changing payment dates and amounts. Keep changing figures on app with reverse figures then altering again and then deleting again. Bills inaccurate. I. debit and credit keeps changing on app. have moved to Octopus 🐙. EMAILS HAVE BEEN SENT ALREADY WITH SCREENSHOTS AWAITING REPLY
trying to raise my direct debit buevto a mistake at there end that is currently in dispute i went from using 250kwh to 2800 for last reading at new meter instal which i believe he wrote numbers down in wtong order. did contact customer service and they got it all sorted but youse asked me for review on EDF not the app. Plus my app is never upto date usage never there ontime as i set on app for meter readings every half hour as you recommend pity it takes day or 2 to filter syst sometimes longer
my account is way over credit and I calculated the amount I need to pay each month so that I'm not overpaying and in high credit. it stops me from changing my DD to a more correct value. EDF want to gain interest on your credit amount!! ps: EDF this does relate to the mobile app!! your DD option won't let me lower to acceptable value- why must I overpay at end of winter season??!! its a scam to gain interest using customer money? why can't I extract credit easily via app?!
Installed smart meters in March 2024. Never worked since day 1. Lost count of the number of complaint emails. Engineer finally called this week, a week after regulator advised all failing meter customers to be compensated. Couldn't fix it. Readings are submitted via mobile phone signals. Weak signal. Really? Total con.
easy to use app although not 100% accurate,Asked for an inhome display,as my gas meter,is located outside my neighbour's kitchen window,so I cannot access it to turn on Emergency credit.I was told my meter is an old version and would be replaced,and be given an in-home display and now I am not.Friendly credit is great,as are customer service (most of the time).
no problems encountered with EDF. So far, an excellent services provider. App is easy to use, very easy to add credit and adjust direct debit if needed. Clearly shows usage and billing. I referred my son to EDF and we both got a reward. Win-win! Thank you EDF
They cancelled three smart meter install appointments. This goes back to pre COVID. Eventually someone came and only installed an Electric smart meter but no gas this was about 2 years ago. Guess what the Electricity smart meter never worked. So I continue to read my meters. Ever since I tried to get them to offer a date to install but they never have a free slot any day of the week. I have never yet turned them down. I would love someone from the company to text me. So 1 star but really 0.
estimates used are crazy. instead of judging based of the previous month or months usage im billed 22 times more than I used last month and direct debit then adjusts accordingly. please stop doing it like this edf. my savings shouldn't be your savings!
I wanted to change to the best tariff. The person in the call centre was very helpful and the app is simple to use
The new look app offers an easy way to view usage and an indication of what monthly payment is appropriate in line with my energy usage..
won't let me switch to electric account just keeps going to gas. this been happening for few months. have to login online which makes the app pointless having. and don't get me started on Sunday saver, used to get free hours regularly when they started it but this past 6+ months get nothing even if everything switched off during the 4-7pm, I've given up bothering with it not worth trying.
at the moment it is not showing electric readings etc. when you leave gas account to go to electric its still showing gas account or saying cant be found. been like that past 2 month. needs sorting!!
I find the app very easy to use and its so convenient for topping up your electric & gas, it doesn't take long for it to go on the meter, would recommend using the app
still have to go up our seven step step-ladder to read meter! When engineer fitted smart meter he said it wasn't working and didn't fit or give us anything to read at a lower height. Appears to be working now, can you please rectify this situation as we are both over seventy!
App is unusable, it keeps redirecting back to the home screen whenever you go to anywhere else on the app. Tried reinstalling, logging in and out, turned phone on & off. Nothing. Fix your app, it wasn't like this a few weeks ago. Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra.
I could not create an account. The app failed to send me an email. I've tried on multiple devices and going to their website.
