Stethoscope is nice. The app functions as a medium, so if you are using hearing aids for mild to moderate hearing loss and they are connected to your phone bluetooth then you will not get appropriate volume from your connected device. This app desperately needs an optional interface to control how your media plays through to your devices so that you don't have to crank up your hearing aids to listen; now I'm pulling my hearing aid out for the stethoscope tips which defeats the entire purpose.

I was able to record an arrhythmia on a pediatric patient. When I went to save the rhythm, I was asked to pay for the app. After entering my card, the app went back and deleted the rhythm I was trying to save. For the next 20 minutes, it would record but it wouldn't allow a stop and then it would freeze. If this is the quality this product has for the cost of the stethoscope and the program you have to purchase, I'm happy to send it back and get something better. Any ideas on what the issue is?

This is an updated review. My original review was one star because the couple of days after I installed the app it was very buggy to the point of being unusable. I reached out to customer service and that has since resolved. I don't know if it's because they did something or if there were just software Gremlins in the app that day. Anyhow, now that it works, I'm very happy with the app and the product.

I have the Core. And overall the stethoscope is great. However the app leaves a lot to be desired. About every 45 days or so the app completely desyncs from my Core and then I can't reconnect it to the app until I uninstall, forget the device, reinstall the app and reconnect everything. This is becoming a serious issue as I work in EMS. When this happens I am locked in whatever the last mode I had it in. Overall great product, but it has caused massive issues on scene.

Love the app and the amplification of the stethoscope. The two items separately are fantastic, but they don't communicate like they should. App won't run in the background, so I can't record or wirelessly auscultate without my phone out and on. I also wish there was a way to switch between heart and lung audio filters without having to open the app (a double button click?). Great product that works well, just needs a little more synchrony so I'm not having to use two things at once.

I am pretty impressed with the Eko device and app so far. I am only using it as an individual nurse on the Med/Surg floor of a hospital, so I have not used it as a remote listening device with headphones, or to record and send to a provider. I mentioned this in my review of the Eko CORE itself, but I'll repeat it here: I wish you could access the noise cancelation and filtering without the app. The app always disconnects when I switch off the device, which I do every time I leave each patient's room. If it could be paired with the app and connect automatically when I switch it back on, it would save a lot of fidgeting with my phone with gloved hands. The filters are the best part of the app and the most helpful in a noisy hospital room.

update: first day the Android app supports the Duo. I guess the server's traffic is overwhelmed. everybody is testing the app. and the Bluetooth connection is a little slow on my android device. otherwise, functioning as expected. thank you for a great product. original: Duo works great on my other iOS device. but my primary use device is an Android device. I'm just waiting for the Android support for the Duo.

So far so good. Good work on first gen app that records and plays back. I'd like to see an update that allows for pinch to zoom both the EKG and heart sound recording. it'll make it easier to see in a larger format. As it is now, the tracing is a little underwhelming. id also like the option to chose one or the other (EKG OR HR) instead of both. 6/16/19: better again, would like to see the ability to log in via fingerprint or iris recognition.

The update on the app has made it super glitchy! It starts recording immediately upon connection, taking control away from the user. It then auto saves every nonsense recording, and then, upon exiting the nonsense recording, immediately starts a new one. Which ends after less than a second without any input. Never allowing me any control. Not allowing me to select 'quick record' or 'exam', just in a constant loop of nonsense recording. In the market for a 3M or anything better than this now....

We were so pleased with the new app version. we got this stethoscope specifically for our little girl who was diagnosed ASD 3 years ago, the App back then was free, but we haven't used the app for a while a couple of months after her surgery, new phone, downloaded the app and check on her today, and was disappointed that I cannot use the app without paying for a subscription, which surprises me because you buy it for $299, yet the app that goes with it is not free, correct me if I'm wrong please.

The product is great and helps amplify and clear sounds. The app is garbage, you need to have the open to connect the core to your phone, and the app has terrible sound quality and makes pretty poor recordings. I've been trying to come up with a set up where I could effectively just have the bell connected to the core attachment and then transmit to a Bluetooth headphone, so I can listen to lung and heart sounds while in full ppe and, the app is quality prohibitive for allowing that to happen.

So far this has been a waste of money. The app is bad. An internet connection is required to make a recording. However you won't know you can't store recording until after you've made the recording. Recorded sounds can't be accessed unless there's an internet connection. The Core device itself is nice. But the app is a complete disappointment. Eko support is responsive but nothing has improved after many months.

It needs to be more prehospital friendly or have an app option for prehospital exams. It is very helpful with the noise canceling, heart and lung sounds while transporting patients are easier to hear but to have to open the app, then go to app settings just to change it is a pain in the rear end when you're in the field.

buggy app, requiring an account to use my stethoscope and asking for my medical credentials is nonsense. I didn't mind using an app to control this but connection issues abound and you don't need all this data. constantly trying to upsell a premium subscription on a very expensive device, it's possibly a hippa violation as it asks for your patient info as well. If I had known before I bought it, I would've chosen a different, less greedy company.

I love the product. The new upgrade on the app I am not happ with. I am hearing impaired and Bluetooth my EKO to hearing aides. The upgrade defaults to cardiac exam when opened. I find that I have to spend more time adjusting the settings for pulmonary exam of my physical exam is a higher priority than cardiac. I work in ICU/ED/PACU where time is important. Again I love the product and how much it has improved my practice and the app is doesn't easily fit my needs.

Playing the audio back is absolutely awful. Every single recording has what sounds like someone punching or tapping on the stethoscope and mutes the audio for a second, which definitely is not there during recording. Cant export as an MP3 either, which is ridiculous. So sound is screwed up every single time, audio playback way too quiet on phones, and cant export as more file types

The app leaves a lot to be desired unless you are paying for a subscription. Really not worth bothering unless you are paying. Core amplifier is great though and I highly recommend it, but cannot recommend a pay service for something that could just use internal memory on my phone.

Can't skip selecting subscription plan. During onboarding the app forces you to select subscription instead of providing option to skip, and use base version. And the subscription is super expensive for someone who uses the app maybe twice a year....

Excellent device, and perfect choice for us older nurses that have less than perfect hearing. Being able to isolate heart and lung sounds is a great feature. The EKG feature is also awesome. I have SVT, so I have personally used it on myself. LOL to show my doctor.

The lung and heart sounds are incredible with this stethoscope! The eko app is a great tool as well when working on any unit, but particularly for tele units. Overall a win and I highly recommend!
