Enjoyable but it isn't pulling me back to it. I've been playing for over a week but don't have a lot of things unlocked yet so maybe the gameplay gets more involved, for now it's just something to do when I have a few minutes here and there. Once the maintenance is done you run out of supplies quickly and have to wait to do anything else. A mini game or puzzles to do in the meantime would be nice so I'm not drawn to play something else while waiting.
updated (2026) I was able to log-in to this game. it is fun, and strategic. the problem with most events is that you move the goal post too much. there should be a goal and those that make that goal get the prize for that level of achievement. it is incredibly demoralizing to push hard as an early player to get to the next level, only to be outpaced by advanced players and never surpass the lowest level of awards because of that. in that case its better to not try very hard.
Elvenar has been demoted for glitches. The enchantments and boosters I used were not properly applied. One instant disappeared from the inventory without taking effect. I had to use Melissa's spell twice before getting the bonus. No reason to put money into a simple game that simply refuses to work. Also, probably I have the game uninstalled today when it has misperformed too many times. Those movie reels are not functioning properly. Those rewards are unclaimable.
Enjoyable but only for a few minutes at a time. It's hard to play for more than 5 minutes despite there being multiple events happening, why is that? because your events keep hyper focusing on using the longest production options they can. There's zero point in me coming back to the game when you forced me for the 5th time in a row to produce using 9 hours. Is your goal to make me forget your game exists?I understand wanting things to take time but this is absolutely ridiculous.
Great game, I have been playing for 4 years now. it does take time to get ur city build up but once u get into a great fellowship and help build each other up, its perfection. You don' have to spend a lot money on things, unless you want to. I may spend 25 a month, and you get things free thru the game the longer you play, the bigger your city gets, and how you build it up. Bit of advice, invest in lots of troops, build your military cause you use them a lot in tournaments, spire, and provinces
Okay, it has been over 4 years since I started playing this game. I rarely write reviews, but this game has been fantastic. If you hate ads, as I do, this is the game for you. You are offered ads to enhance some things, but you can advance without ever watching an ad. If you are looking for a fast moving shooter game, go elsewhere. this is a builder game and you do not lose ground because someone bigger attacks you. I highly recommend this game.
This is a great game and I played it for several years. This is a city building game with no battles or battling. You progress through chapters by researching teks that allow you to build structures to produce goods. The chapters become longer and open new buildings. The game is not P2W. It will allow you to spend money to speed things up, and it will frequently reward you with gems you'd pay real money for. But it penalizes paying to speed up. I really enjoyed playing this
The new player experience isn't great. Game feels boring, intro tutorial is boring, initial buildings and overall feel just isn't enjoyable. I also noticed all the tabs in the research and to me this doesn't go "Whoa, can't wait to see all that" instead I ask myself if I really want to slog through the boring game to unlock all that, I don't. Seems like a game for someone in their 60's.
I just got tired of it. this game is from the same people who make forge of empires. and that game started out great but after a while when one of the side quests caused the game to completely freeze and their tech support told to just delete the app and come back in. it neglected to say if I deleted the game I lose all of my progress 🙄 I don't want to give out my email to everyone who wants it because I don't want a lot of junk.
I played this many years ago. It was nice back then. I downloaded again. This is far different from the original version. It's now inundated the ad spots. This is why I uninstalled it for a final time. GET RID OF THE ADS!!! PEOPLE JUST WANT TO PLAY GAMES!!! You don't get it... this game started out as not having ad spots everywhere. For every little bonus in the game. People don't like it nor want it. I'm a premium google play subscriber. I shouldn't have to pay for in-game actions.
The gameplay is quickly monotonous, you need to make big in game purchases to move at anything more than a snail's pace. The opportunity to build community isn't as embedded in the game as it is in others ( i.e. few real time quests, most of the game play is asynchronous). The graphics are pretty good, the game is stable and the developers release frequent updates.
I enjoy this game. Sadly, I must uninstall it because I can't play for more than 5 minutes at a time unless I pay for diamonds or packages. I have been playing for a week and its not getting better. I can make ONE trade at the wholesaler per day. I can't upgrade residences or workshops without expanding my territory, which requires a great deal more resources than my dinky workshops can put out. The devs are taking the scarcity model to an absurd level. And packs cost too much.
I have been playing foe several years and I really enjoy it. I have 3 cities and could play all day. The Fellowship aspect is key. It makes the game go faster and adds new aspects. Yes, if you buy diamonds you can advance faster, but you don' have to too have fun. If you learn from more experenced players you can groe your city very fast. Play for a few months and you will get involved and reach your goals. :-)
Edit 11/27/2021: uninstalled. I really wanted to like it, but after months of playing the progression is atrocious. It takes forever to do anything and you are constantly battling against resources, population, culture, and space. I just cannot recommend this game. Check out Inno's other game Rise of Cultures for more balanced gameplay, at least at the start.
I have never been in a game where the developers work so hard to make your life difficult. From buildings that don't rotate, a perpetual shortage of space that is only easily solved by spending real money, to events that intentionally are programmed to request what you have the least of. The side events are fun, but having a great fellowship is crucial. I am still playing because I have a great fellowship. The teamwork is good, even if the prizes are ridiculously low.
I am really enjoying this game! There are so many levels, I may never finish it, but that's ok. Some game items are available for purchase with real money, but if you are patient and like a challenge you can certainly play for free. Building space is limited, which can be a source of frustration, but you can earn expansions (slowly). If everything were easy, the game would get boring. The developers continually add additional, optional challenges and tournaments, which add to the fun. Good game.
It's a really good game but it's a hassle having such limited space and working so long (months) just to free up enough space to do building upgrades. You have to be very constant and consistent with this game . But truth is it really is a good game. It's fun. It's addicting. I love it. But I only rate it a four because of the amount of long tireless effort you have to put into the game to have space to play. Then when you think you opened up space to upgrade your buildings... Think again... lol
I find it pretty boring. It's fun for a minute, then it turns into yet another click and wait game. Not fun at all. Open, collect, wait another 9 hours, repeat. No entertainment at all. I'm giving it a chance by upgrading, but now I seem to be needing so many stones and boards for everything, and no way to make that many. Click, wait 9 hours, click, repeat. I enjoy games I can log into and play for an hour at a time at least. This isn't it.
Updating a review, had reported problems getting it to update, but haven't had any issues that way in quite awhile. Biggest issue compared to using it on my PC is that watching ads is much worse, they take a LOT longer. So skip them the VAST majority of the time and get those bonuses on the PC. If PC changed for the worse and was like app, I likely would not watch at all.
I found the game easy to learn, and so far have been enjoying the game play. Update, (10/15/2019): I've been playing for well over a year now...almost a year and a half and have advanced all the way thru the wood elves level. I now am an archmage of a fellowship group, and still continue to find the game challenging and enjoyable to play.
