I'm liking this app so far. The one thing I can see that it needs, unless I can't find the setting, is to be able to pause and resume text to speech using my earbuds. I use that feature many times daily at work. This is the only app that isn't allowing that to happen. EDIT: 5 stars. By disabling remote bookmarks, I am now able to pause/resume TTS with my earbuds.
My only, and I mean only complaint is that the contextual menu that pops up with an open book doesn't have a "long press" function that can be edited. I have fat fingers so if I don't move the page quite enough, the ribbons at the top and bottom appear. I'd love to see that as a long press instead of a short press. Or, just increase the action to open it with a longer press than just an instant touch.
it gets 3 instead of 2 stars soley because it's the only epub reader I have found that allows you to zoom (why even include cbr or cbz if you can't zoom: you can't read a tiny comic book page on an android screen of any size without zooming; I have better than perfect vision: if I can't, no one can). Unfortunately, it's a nigh impossible to use feature: you can only look around the page with 2 fingers and it's totes unwieldy and hard to do something that should be easy (it is with most maps).
Easy to use app so far I have been able to add unlimited books without any glitch and no annoying ads. My favorite part is that you can bind pictures from your files into a book like a photo album. Also the app automatically bookmarks your book for you so you can pick up where you left off when you reopen the app. The one thing I'd like to see added is a comment section and annotation tool. Great app I recommend this app to anyone that lives to read. I just hope it stays free
The app is literally the best for reading anything, and has great features as well. I've been using it for quite some years now but I've recently started facing this problem. I always read my books in dark mode and never had any problem but recently the pages would be half black and half white, even in white mode. It's so annoying. the pages would only become fine after I zoom out of the page whole and I won't be able to read clearly. Can you please fix it. I literally never had any other problem
Beautifully designed, very extensive list of ebooks that this program will view. It has a lovely user interface that is simple and easy to use. Why the one star? The UNSKIPPABLE FULL PAGE ADS WITH SOUND THAT POP UP WITHOUT WARNING. I refuse to pay my hard earned cash to not be startled or annoyed by ads when I'm concentrating. If this application would favor more subtle, non intrusive ads, I would support it with real money. It's really a shame. edit: their response - they didn't read my review
Way too many ads in the free version to the point of pretty much unusable. Literally every minute, long video ads you can't dismiss. Really quite obnoxious actually. After suffering through the ads, more often than not you are kicked out of your book without retaining your place. The UI seems well designed, but ad supported software needs to be at least least polite enough to make a fair evaluation.
-chooses one pronunciation for homographs & always uses that pronunciation no matter the context -does not join end line hyphenations. Pronounces as 2 words or spells one & pronounces the other -does not always open in the same place where I close the app -the line at the bottom of the page makes it too easy to accidentally turn to another part of the book -when searching for a word, always starts from the beginning of the book instead of from this point forward. No option to search backward
Yesterday, my books stopped loading all of a sudden. I click on the book and it opens, but no words/images appear. Just a blank page. This is very disappointing. The three stars are because the app had been great previously, despite the pop-up ads.
Has some good features, but scrolling within pdfs takes a bit of setting up, but has good options. Reads epub docs better than other apps I've tried. However it also seems to be advertising another PDF App which tells you that your PDF Reader has expired & you are about to lose the ability to read your pdfs unless you "renew" now - ie install their (unneeded) app. Misleading advertising! If you see that message ignore it. After a while you have to watch adv videos to use it.
Great app. I use it to have epubs read to me, and I'm very happy with it. I've tried a multitude of apps that crashed often, lost my place, were full of ads, had unintuitive software, ect. But this app has worked splendidly. (update: after recent updates app keeps losing progress with books, or reverting back to chapters i was on days ago, unable to generate chapter list, and problems with initiating the read out loud function.)
The app was good till it went through an update. There are many things wrong now, but the most annoying is that the pages reset when I leave the app. Normally it leaves off where I stopped but now I have to actively start searching for where I left off
Font sizes are glitched and don't work. I like smaller font sizes. Also get rid of the popup that wants you to watch a video to get rid of ads. It's just trashy on an otherwise good app. And the musicians mode is also bugged.
I have been using this reading app for a very very long time and absolutely loves it. However, since the last update I have problems with opening books. Sometimes it doesn't want to load and shows (a blank page with - 0/1 pages on the page counter)
I always loved this app for all the good features it had, but after the latest update it just gives so much error opening a book or changing a book! and it didn't used to be like that, I loved how smooth it was but now it always gives errors. I'll be more happy if you can fix this.
This book has good features but fails open the whole pages of certain pages. for example, I downloaded a textbook and switched to a certain app through internet but on returning book could display.
excellent application where the UI can populate a small library without any book accessible to a direct internet interface. The logic enables different views to accommodate user setting. App does not appear sluggish or unresponsive
One in a million. I have been using this app for years without problems. If you're searching for a reader, I sincerely recommend this app. I wish it were possible to give more than 5 stars. A big thank you to the developers. More grease to your elbows.
I'm uninstalling this. All the words appear lined along the left margin of each page, and not just in one book I've tried reading on this app.
I hate the fact that it just randomly resets all the tags that I've spent ages creating. This is the third time it's done it. I really hoped after paying for it, it wouldn't happen again.
