Update mar 4 2026: Now biometric login no longer works. And after first time, the option doesn't even show up. So to check stock price, I need to type my password. LOL. Way to go Morgan Stanley, you are finally integrating E-Trade to be more like you. Why is it always forcing to login when my home page is set to watchlist?? Before this recent change, could easily check without login. Now there is no way to get out of login screen.

Awful app. Prices are sometimes wildly incorrect which is dangerous if you trust your money with them. In the newest version they are now blocking one of the more valuable features - can no longer see basic stock information without logging in. Also, the widget doesn't update nor refresh making it worthless now. Drilling into symbols stops working, requiring a force close of the app and login AGAIN. This dev team is awful. About to move my money elsewhere.

Looks like the biometrics based login is disabled in the new update. I don't see the biometrics symbol on the android app any longer. Please enable it as soon as possible. It has been a great inconvenience to type in the password every time to log in. Also the email ID customer support for the mobile app is not correct. The email is bouncing back

App has a bug the doesn't show Base Symbol & Price in the options view. I have tried multiple times to get them to fix it (called, chat) but they don't seem to care about updating/fixing the app. Sad thing is, I still like this app better than Robinhood, Tasty, Schwab, for options trading on the phone... it's just this one column that doesn't show the underlying stock price that makes me have to flip back & forth to another app to see the stock price... annoying.

Recently, when I submit buy or sell orders through the E*TRADE mobile app, there is a noticeable delay before the order is reflected in the app and before I receive confirmation with the execution details. This lag can be problematic, especially for time-sensitive or short-term trades, and may result in unintended losses. This app came a long way. And it's getting packed with a lot of options and up to date informations. Love E trade and will always be my favorite.

Not user-friendly. Takes several clicks to see the limit price on an open order. No way to see realized gain/loss. Generally, the UI is extremely clunky. It's like the people who make it don't use it themselves so even the most common tasks are painfully inconvenient! It doesn't even come close to apps like Robinhood, Fidelity, or Schwab. If my company didn't use E-Trade for ESPP, I'd close my account immediately. The only reason it managed to even get 2 stars is because it's mostly functional

It starting to frustrate me. The amount of patiencience you have to have is absurd. The app doesn't work right. It claims "2-3 business days to process" I've been waiting several days for "deposit in my account" to occur. And then when things go south you have to wait an hour to talk to a real person on the phone! Ridiculous! I can go get FREE stocks just for depositing $100 through WEBull.

Trades are easy to make. However, the app crashes when the market is volatile, which defeats the purpose of having the app. I've missed out on several days of big gains. Also, the Watch List is confusing and Stock Price Alerts and Notifications do not work. I wish I had set up my accounts with a different server. I'll probably switch when I have time.

Either I'm missing something or in portfolio view the totals on top are completely wrong. Pretty sure it's the latter. I wish I had that much money and gain (148%.... And no, it's not 48% either)!!! :( Can someone explain this to me, please? I expect to see as "Total Gain" on top simply the sum of the total gain column in the portfolio view, similar to the website. Same for (net) market value and day's gain. Completely different (and correct) on the website, not in the app. Thx

Completely lost me on the research side of things... Can't just click on a research Tab and scroll down and pick something that catches my eye and read up on it... Use to love the ALL STAR FUNDS as well... Can't find them... Also when buying a penny stock that might be in tenths of a cent you can't go more that 3 decimal places... " if it ain't broke don't fix it"... If this platform doesn't take a step back to become more user friendly like it use to be..i may have to look else where... "

Absolutely terrible app. Crashes, login errors, freezes while making trades, alerts going off in middle of the night, bad customer service. Going back to Ameritrade. Stay away from this terrible app! Update 03/08. Now I don't even know if trades are going through! Placed a trade, no notification, no text alert, nothing. So I try again. Next thing I know, both my trades went through. I only wanted to place one trade! This is so much better. Done with ETRADE!!!

Coming from RH, this is a HORRIBLE app. Several friends recommended E*Trade for their penny stock trading. I was super excited to move to a "real" broker with more stock trading options and I am horrified and how unintuitive this app is. If you want to view the charts for a given ticker, you can only slide and zoom a picture. Theres no way to view prices for a given time without tracing across the screen to find the price on the side of the chart. This app is something I'd expect from the 1990s.

This isn't a bad app. It's fairly easy to use, & I can do most of the things I need to do on it when analyzing & buying in a pinch. However, as an income investor, there's a few things it's missing. I have other accounts with different brokers, but the Etrade app is the only one that doesn't give me a projection of future income. Furthermore, it's not really designed in a way to navigate around the lack of income information. Update these things & I'll add some stars.

Will not let me screenshot anything and super slow. I was recommended by an iphone user, I have an android. They have the same app but they for some reason can screenshot and have a black background. My background is dingy and white, also the app always signs me out. In the last week I have tried to call customer service 3 times. Each of the 3 times I was on hold for over 2 hours. eTrade has terrible customer service.

The app crashes at the most inconvenient times. You know, only when I'm trying to make trades, view options prices, etc. Loading times are incredibly slow. Obviously an etrade issue as your website is doing the same thing during high volume times. This is a new issue on both web and app over the last week. Please get your platform in order.

I have a good Etrade app on another phone. This one is enough to give you a breakdown, if you are trying to place a trade, or SEE YOUR POSITIONS!!! I had to get my old phone that is losing charge. That one has it's quirks. I changed one word, same # of letters, & it kept telling me itdidn't meet the password requirements. I'll forget it, though. I was just having to try different things that might work. It does this ALL THE TIME, but at least THAT mobile app is usable, unlike this one.

App Freezes, orders do not go through a lot of the time. Expiration dates for orders held don't show up, leaving you with an error, message, saying to call. Have called and been on hold for hours. Have only been using etrade for a month, and all of that has happened in that short of time. So far, way more problems than any other firm.

Getting very upset. Trying to change accounts. Because I chose the wrong type. Not ever done this before. Tried opening a second account and it takes to the chat screen. After clicking on that it tells me to call.. I've called 4 times now and been on hold for and average of 30 minutes each time. And no one ever picks up. Beginning to think I make a mistake opening an account with e trade...

I've lost a significant amount of money watching the wheel spin, waiting for charts to load. Often unable to login, called support and got tired of being on the hold for an hour. RH is obviously not an option but I think it's time to find a new trading platform. Nothing like losing thousands due to an app's "technical issues." Update 2/15/20: Updated to the latest version of this app and it's even WORSE! Forgot waiting for a chart to load...now the chart is only current as of closing on Friday!

The app is alright. Not intuitive, but I guess it's investing, you got to know what you are doing. Overall experience is terrible. I had to call the customer service several times to unblock my account. Then they won't let me actually invest. My account is limited. Then I can't withdraw money back to my bank account since they've been uselessly sitting in etrade since January. They told me to write a document stating I want to withdraw MY MONEY. It's been a nightmare from the very start.Useless
