I love Etsy, but the shipping is expensive, just bought a simple sticker and they charge over $4.00 for shipping. It was more than the sticker! But I can't find it anywhere else and I needed it. Why not just a stamp? It would fit in a basic envelope! I don't buy alot just because of the shipping costs. But they have amazing sellers and items! I love the uniqueness of the items! Just the shipping costs makes it frustrating.
There used to be a feature, where you could see all the shops you followed, and they would show you the most recent items for those shops in one area. They took that away? Why? To make it harder than it already is to find what you want to buy? Combined with the fact that the search is the worst (sort by recent? Doesn't work. Search key words? Etsy throws in 100s of unrelated results) and the app is just this awful garbage that shows you stuff you don't want to see.
I like the crochet patterns they have. But the app is so confusing. You make your purchases through the app. But the instant download can't be downloaded from the app. It is supposed to be available to download from the email receipt they send to you. But on each and every pattern I have had problems downloading. When you open the app, it goes straight to sells. Not your account. And going to your purchases and reviews is total confusion. I like the patterns, but it's almost not worth it.
The app wouldn't let me apply my 40% off code, I tried 3 times. On the 3rd try, I clicked the enter key, and instead of trying to apply the code, it sent my purchase through. I've spent the last 20 minutes trying to contact customer support, but when I click "contact customer support" I keep getting rerouted to the "contact the seller" page. I am furious & will be deleting the app and not using the site in the future.
Everytime this app is updated it creates a million problems I wish they would just leave it alone. Once again there's a bunch of issues after updating. My saved folders are all rearranged, items have disappeared from my sorted folders. I have hundreds of saved items in each folder and after scrolling through maybe 40, the items just keep repeating forever instead of showing me the other things I have in said folder. Also, after so many items it shows Everything to be sold out even when it's not.
The app is fine but I wish they had a way to REMOVE a material from search results. As someone with skin sensitivities it's really frustrating that no matter what combination of search results I try; Sterling Silver will always show up. Even if I have the search results only for obscure non-metal options. Also the platform has definitely been taken over by AI brands that are just taking more rip-off amazon products and heat pressing them onto tee-shirts, and that goes completely unchecked.
When I select the 'Ships From the U.S.' filter, I expect to be shown items that will ship from the U.S. only! Sellers shouldn't be allowed to lie about where the item is coming from & how long it will take. So many shop profiles state PA or NY as their location, & delivery dates will show a date that is 30 days earlier than the actual delivery date. It isn't until you receive the tracking info that you discover that it's coming from India. They also allow sellers to DELETE NEGATIVE REVIEWS!
Good variety but shipping costs shock. I always check if Amazon has it first before buying because, 9 times out of 10, after shipping costs, it's more expensive and on top of that, Amazon's delivery date is much sooner. But here's the rubberized, Etsy has good stuff Amazon just doesn't, which is where it definitely shines. Still, in this economy, I look at the final total in my cart and often just delete it and go for alternatives elsewhere.
Fix your search function! Items that match the most words need to come FIRST. Sponsored listings are no exceptions. If you're going to firehose us with sponsored listings in our searches, they need to match the search terms. If it's not what I'm searching for, I won't click it. This issue affects sellers too. They're paying for sponsored ads, but they won't get clicks if you put their ads as results on irrelevant searches. Also having to click twice to see a seller page is dumb and annoying.
I love Etsy Sellers but the filters in the app are very disappointing. The mobile and desktop versions are a bit better but still make it difficult to shop locally, all you can do is choose a country items ship from. I want to see distance from a zip code so I can go pick up items that might be costly to ship. Really frustrating. Another complaint is the items that have measurements you can filter don't show an item's actual price, instead showing the price of the smallest sample, i.e., rugs.
Mostly works as needed, however I cannot stand that when I am using the browser (since some functions do not work in the app), links automatically redirect to the app. If you're so insistent that we use the app then every function of your website needs to work in the app. Otherwise, quit redirecting me. Edit: Found a setting to stop links from opening the app. I wish it weren't automatically on, but at least it is optional.
I usually enjoy the app, but I'm consistently coming across an error stating "Unable to take photo. Please check your storage permissions". I've allowed all permissions, uninstalled and reinstalled the app many times, and even after the most recent update - I'm still having this issue. Through a browser, you can upload a photo through their "Help" process regarding a product, but you're unable to upload a photo to actually review a received product. Error still exists as of 01/05/2026.
Trying to figure out how to request and pay for quicker shipping is not easy. You need to go back into your item when you get the last stage of placing the order instead of being able to select shipping speed when you put in the ship to address. I went back several times to see if I missed something on the shipping step before I accidentally went into the item from the last page in the checkout process.
Mostly useful, but I couldn't download digital content. Worse, if I tried to access my downloads via the website, it would automatically open the app. I had to uninstall the app before I could access my purchases. Since most of what I buy are digital patterns, the app just didn't meet my needs.
I bought a shirt that I need to return because the size was smaller than advertised. However, in order to do a return, you have to submit a photo. No big deal right? Except that Etsy gives me an error message every time I try to upload a picture, saying that I need to check my storage permissions. All of the permissions are turned on and it still doesn't work. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app, clearing the data and clearing the cache and it still is doing this.
I love Etsy, alhough they've allowed far too many mass-produced goods to be sold on the platform, muddying the waters for those of us who actually create products that are hand-crafted. Furthermore I was surprised that I couldn't find a bug-reporting page because my previous orders list in the Android app is incomplete and missing at least one order as confirmed by opening the iOS app and seeing it there.
I'm weary about ordering through Etsy again. I had a seller misrepresent an item, then offer a partial refund in exchange for a 5 star review. I submitted multiple support tickets, but never received a response from Etsy. There also seem to be sellers who buy wholesale then resell on Etsy, claiming the items are handmade. As for the actual app, the search functions aren't as usable as the desktop version, which also isn't great
I swear there used to be a way to search for ONLY handmade items alongside the vintage option. Why are we not allowed to do that?? I want to just be able to search for handmade items, considering this app is supposed to be for handmade items. I should also be able to see every item that pops up when I search for it. There's no way that I blazed through 6,000 results, it's like it doesn't want to show me anything new. Needs a way to filter out certain words as well.
The latest update sucks * Every box now reads as a password box, so my auto fill keeps popping up. Not an issue in any other app or before this. * Instead of drop-down menus, it's now scrolling sideways through options. Ugly and more frustrating for my thumbs. * Item descriptions are now mostly hidden as a small tap-to-open area. What happened to it being front and center so I was actually sold on items? * etsy is still mostly drop shipper who have taken over, but that's life
Etsy has apparently decided that it's a good idea to force its users to download their app in order to track your orders now... something that was never necessary before, and a task that can easily be handled on a web interface just like the way 99% of websites handle it. Forcing me to download the app is obnoxious and selfish. So here's your one star review, you morons.
