I rated lower due to the recent changes in not rewarding points for health articles. It already took a long time to get to be able to cash out (like once a year), but now that you can't earn points from the articles it's going to take even longer. Now I don't really feel too incentivized to even read them. Also, just learned that the app now charges $1 if you cash out to your bank account. So 1,000 points worth basically... which took forever to earn in the first place. Super disappointing.
nothing is syncing anymore EVER. Cannot disconnect Samsung Health no matter how many times I try or how many app reinstalls or connected services reconnections I attempt. I use Fitbit as well and it has stopped syncing completely. I may have to delete my evidation account and start completely over if that's even possible. it seems stuck beyond what normal troubleshooting can address. I'm not factory resetting my phone for one misbehaving app. sorry.
It took me a while to earn points enough to cash out, but I am not very active other than daily walking. I do love the research and the fact that they send surveys that pertain to me. It is a small app, so even if it takes longer for me than most, I'm keeping it. Can't wait for new opportunities and surveys. Oh, btw my payment was within 1 minute of cashing out. Samsung Galaxy 20 is my device. Update: still amazing
easy to use but takes too long to earn rewards. 10,000 points to get $10. took me 5 months, and that was getting most of my points every day. read all the cards, took all the quizzes, had my fitbit linked. for the first 4 months I averaged 93% of the daily points. maybe could have done it in 4 1/2 but quit logging meals. still seems too long to get anything back.
Evidation/Achievement used to be 5 star. I used to be motivated to keep getting more steps, tracking food, and weight, until they hacked up the point system. Now it only motivates to sit in front of your phone taking health surveys. They no longer care about healthy action, just health information provided in surveys. Now there is a fee to redeem to Paypal and others, that I don't remember being the case. I kept hoping they would get better, but clearly won't happen. Finally uninstalling.
Very annoyed with the new "restructuring" of points. I went from gaining 800-1000 a week to hardly 150 a week. I'm doing the same amount of work but getting a small percentage of the points. This app is getting the same amount of research information from us but now paying out a tiny percentage of what it was. It's not worth giving them all my information for a year and a half and in response I get $10. Uninstalling now.
I've been using Evidation for years, and after trying several other fitness rewards apps, I have to say Evidation is by far the best one I've found. It's the only one that doesn't require daily logins or paying money in advance. It rewards not only steps, but logging meals, weighing yourself, and basically any other health data you put in your health apps, plus offers surveys that all add up way faster than the other apps.
So, about May 10th of this year I finally hit 10,000 points, so I, of course, decided to redeem them. Filled out the little form and whatnot and guess what? I still haven't got it as of 5 minutes ago. I have messaged support twice now, only once getting a reply. So maybe this review will get things fixed since going through customer service is about as helpful as using a gallon of bleach to sanitize a full port-o-potty.
EDIT: ive had evidation for YEARS and they recently capped the amount of points you can get from walking and other things within the app. I understand capping duplicate entries made by different apps, but now I get barely any points from walking! (...THE WHOLE POINT OF THE APP). Not sure how long ill keep the app at this point, it won't be worth the extra battery usage and data privacy breach. You all know the saying, "if it's not broke, don't fix it"!
Great app. It tracks everything in the background. You set it and forget it. Achievement rewards you for tons of different healthy activities like steps, sleep, logging food, and completing workouts. It takes a while to accumulate enough points for a gift card but it runs without any work what do you have to lose? I just cashed out $10 to my PayPal. Would recommend!
This app does not function properly. My FitBit app says that I've walked more than 27,000 steps, and so does my cellular device, but Achievement states that I've only walked 19,000. This is an every day occurrence. I should have twice as many points as I do, quite frankly. It's nice to motivate people to exercise, but lying and misinforming is unnecessary. Would not recommend.
I do enjoy this app, incentive to work out and be healthy. some days you may log in consitently, it doesn't count points every day you do it. For example, I always weigh mysel. When the achievement app syncs with my fitness app (Samsung Health), it skips my points earned daily for this task. Ongoing issue, the app will not count activity points for EACH activity (running, biking, walking, etc). You are supposed to earn separate points for each activity, they count it as general exercise.
EDIT: It has begun to freeze the moment I open the app, and it won't let me do any cards. I can't even check if it is syncing with my fitness apps and giving me points for steps and heath metrics. Unable to use this app at the moment. ----It works as it says it does. You get points for logging different health metrics, and once you get 10,000 points, you cash out $10. I've cashed out to my PayPal a few times, and the payment goes through without issue and quite quickly.
As someone who was referred to this app by a friend, don't bother. You're going to be having to use this app for a year at least just to earn ten bucks. I work out 4 days a week for 2 hours each day, and with basic Google fit tracking and lacking fitness tracker support for other 'midrange' trackers, the app doesn't count much of anything. If they add better fitness tracker support, maybe it'll be worth it. Right now, though? Don't bother, just mow lawns for people or something instead.
This is hands-down the best "pay to walk" app ever. You forget about it and it still keeps collecting. The more info you feed it, the more points you get. Luckily it is not one of those apps that demands to be run in the background, drawing constant attention to itself. I am honestly getting paid just for doing the healthy stuff I would normally be doing.
So, the fact that the app isn't riddled with ads is huge, but there's some caveats. For instance, I live an active lifestyle, and was getting roughly 1,000 points a week. The point system gave about 1 point every 380 steps logged. More points came with actual activities recorded, though. Daily check-ins and logging data with my health app gave points as well. Now, you get fewer points from activities and check-ins, and one point per 580-ish steps. I suggest a set-it-and-forget-it approach.
Not as good as it used to be since they've capped the points you can earn for exercising each day (8pts no matter how much you exercise). They'll say, 'oh but there are cards' (articles to read & surveys), but those are doled out slowly. The motivation factor is greatly diminished by the new points system. It's better than nothing, but not what it used to be.
Had an issue and reached out to support. They made the problem worse and haven't been able to access account since January. Almost seems like they accidentally closed my account, I can't access at all on any platform. Support requests several times and they have not responded and have not fixed my account. Lost out on quite a bit of $ ready to cash out for their ghosting.
Edit: Evidation(as it's now called) reduced the max points achievable per day by 50% at once AND reduced the number of points received for several tasks. They do still pay you as promised, but now it takes over twice as long to reach the required 10k points. I love achievement. it's super easy to use, and they send your reward fast when you earn it.
Why wouldn't you want to get paid to do the things you already do? I log food, workouts, weight and sleep already on my phone. All I had to do was hook those apps too achievement and start bringing in points. I have had achievement for two years and made $40.... to do nothing I wouldn't already do. Great app! And the data they collect from you is used to power some awesome research!
