I've enjoyed this game for many years but it's reached the point there are rarely enough players on to start a game, only during certain hours of the day is it even worth attempting. Even more, about 15% of the time the servers seem to be down as you can even load a game (it says it's the internet connection, but like others my bars are high and no other app gives me connection issues). Sucks as evil apples used to be a great way to have a good laugh while wasting some time.
I have watched so many ads....one time I got a cake (gameplay) out of prob 50ads. plus u can't back out of the ad if u accidentally hit it. great customer service! I had an issue where a purchase had disappeared and others that I didn't pay for appeared. customer service fixed the issue. Bonus they are funny as well. I wish you could get more than 1 cake every 4hrs. But this game is a great way to waste some time and have fun.
Best version of PvP Cards Against... you'll find! Playing Vs. compared to Friends Only lacks for the simple fact (I understand the reasons why) that you can't invite friends to open public games. It's easy enough to earn what you need to unlock more decks. Minor issues - sometimes there's an update splash screen that you're unable to bring up that information again; decks will be listed under "Evil Sale" and still cost the normal amount regardless; clarity of sub vs 1 time buy.
Fun game when you can find a game. Unfortunately, finding a game takes ages and you're just forced to stare at the waiting lobby until you find a game. Exiting or restarting the game will still take you back to the same lobby. MANY disconnects or afkers because of this. Maybe add in an offline version? If these things can be fixed, i will change my rating.
All of the complaints I had when I wrote my original review in 2015 have been fixed. My only complaint now is that I don't airways get notified when it's my turn. So unless I check in frequently, I'm at risk of getting snoozed and missing out on some of the fun.
On a high note, I bought the "all packs forever" (or whatever it's called) back in 2015, and they really meant it. I get every new pack (whether I want it or not) as soon as it's available. Definitely worth what I paid!
This game is great. I wouldn't recommend it to kiddos. They just dumped a whole bunch of goodies on us for Hanukkah, and the in game credits (pie and coins) grow at a rate where you don't have to spend any real life money. Good questions, good decks, and good people. I'd recommend adding everyone you play with in random mode to your friends list, as friends games don't cost pie.
Great game. Updates have fixed most of the issues. Noticeably clunky when connection is even just a little bit slow but with solid 4G everything runs smoothly. EDIT: Had purchased all packs forever a few years ago and can't recover my account anymore. Played this a while ago and was having same issue and stopped playing for that reason. Can't remember if it was linked to a different phone number or not but I can't even recover it using this email. So lame when even my old review is still here.
This game is really addicting, but there are no lobbies to join. It seems there are not enough players for quick play. Yes, I could make a custom game but I can only invite people I know/give the code to. Not many people have as much time to play as I do. I'm editing this review because I'm realizing that the issue seems to be the connection to the servers. Players are constantly dropped.
The only thing that is missing is YOU NEED TO ADD a button that opens a friend's lobby up to matchmaking with strangers. You could also let us party up and go to a strangers match. Anything that allows two or three people to join up and find new friends to play with! Even if you charge everyone in the group one cake to play with strangers, my wife and I really want to be able to play together with random people. I know I'm not the only one that wants this feature!
After years of playing this game and finally getting EVERY. SINGLE. DECK... I can confirm, this is a really fun game that you'll enjoy if you and your friends like games like Cards Against Humanity! Writing your own cards and the perk of discarding ones you don't want to use makes it much easier to have a good time! Though I don't recommend playing with strangers. It gets frustrating when you're playing with others who obviously don't share your sense of humor. Otherwise, it's a great time!
It had a good run but now I'm not even gonna bother. It's been a while since I tried and apparently it still isn't fixed. I have tried signing into my account, but rather than signing into/redirecting to the app itself, the sign in link redirects in the browser so I can't even sign in. I'm not even gonna bother making another account just to get locked out again. Shame, because this was a good free alternative to cards against humanity. Based on other reviews, maybe I'm dodging a bullet.
I try to join games, and not even my icon will appear in the waiting for players screen. I click "quit game." Hours later, often in the middle of the night, the app will connect to a game, the game ends because no one is actively playing, and my Cake is gone for the games I didn't even get to play. So frustrating, seeing that I've actually spent credit on cake. Step up your game, guys.
Love this game. Good and free if you're cheap like me, or you can pay out if you're not poor. I have very few problems with it. Only two things I hope to see in the future. Either improve or get rid of the bots, which I'm sure is being worked on. And let us know if a friend we invite to a game is even available or online to play. Otherwise, great card game.
I downloaded this game when the quarantine started and it ran very smoothly for the first couple weeks. Right now, there's quite a few connection issues in the app. Sometimes during games, it'll basically lag you out of the game. It appears to do that to a lot of people. Most of my games end with just me, one other person, and a robot the game adds to the game to keep the game going because people are getting disconnected.
Used to enjoy this game. They disconnected it from Facebook so I can't log on. The app says to contact customer service but they can't get your account back without: "avatar photo, the number of cakes and coins you had, and the last date you were logged in and of course, the username! We can definitely track down your account IF you are able to get in touch with a friend who would have you in their Evil Apples friend list" Bought many of the expansion packs and now can't get my account back. BS
I absolutely love this game! A lot of the people who reviewed had tech issues, but honestly I have experienced very few glitches at all, and it's really fun to play. There is a feature now where you can use email to recover account data, which I was able to do recently when I got my new phone. The only thing that can be frustrating are other players. A lot of times they drop from the game before even playing one round, but you can still keep going as long as one other person keeps playing.
A very funny app. However, even with a 5-star. I still say it's issue is where the original deck of cards get bland and almost not as effective after some time. This creates the effect in which it seems the player or user will pretty much be forced to get in game packs. Yet, I will say it is quite rewarding with it's in game currency, so this is only a minor defect. Though I will say it's completely wack that we have to use gems in order to play randoms.
This time, the games don't automatically refresh after you play - when you go back to the games screen, it still says it's your turn when it's not anymore. Needs fixing. And the previous update's avatar size is better. Overall, the game is great though! It's a mobile Cards Against Humanity! And if you have any issues, you can email the team and they reply promptly.
Finally, an app that let's me know which of my friends are sociopaths. Update: four years later and I have one suggestion to make it better. I keep getting notifications that I have too many coins. Problem is that I don't have anything to spend coins on since I bought every deck forever four years ago. So an upgrade I'd like to see is the ability to use some of my coins to send gifts to friends. Example, when a friend first gets the app it'd be cool to be able to send them an expansion deck.
I love this game. It's really fun to play. However, it has so many glitches. It constantly crashes randomly while I'm in the middle of a game and recently, I had an account with a lot of decks and power ups but it logged me out and won't let me log back in. There needs to be another way for me to be able to log back in besides a text message. Also, a suggestion I have: when someone creates/joins a game, you should have an option to kick people out of the game, not just snooze them.
