Multi platform subscription is useless. Works on original device only. Very frustrating. Fails to log in on other devices that already have the freedome app installed. You never get a product key which would solve a lot of issues. I have used freedome for years and have always had a good experience. Not sure what is going on now. Very disappointed.
Edit : Have been using Freedome for years on all of my devices with no issues but recently the connection seems to become unstable the longer I'm connected causing apps to stop working, notifications to be delayed and having to either disable it completely or try reconnecting. Please can this be fixed as I would like to remain a subscriber. Always use the UK server so possibly this is the cause of the problem. Perfect. Privacy and security in one. Wouldn't be without it.
BEWARE!! This app would not allow feedback on any community forum or by contact with corporate. So I used the below listed email address and get a very winded denial of service by email. THERE are seversl problems with this app disconnecting without any notice. If engrossed with online work or play and don't notice icon missing from upper corner you could be out of protection for hours without knowing. Very unreliable service. App protection. Malwarebytes exposed threat issue online that was missed by Freedome. Then Freedome would not allow direct communication about issues, either thru app or via email. Both non-working. Got long-winded two page notice that below listed email not monitored. Everytime I tried to leave feedback thru app they changed the page and diverted options... Several other issues including deception about payment options. They will not accept monthly payments thru google play, only a onetime payment for year, even though monthly payment is suggested in app. They are concerned about discovery of app problems and don't want to lose your full payment for year after discovery of defects and deceptive practices. Monthly payments would allow you to opt out without losing money at discovery of defects. Good luck collecting from Finland. They don't trust their own product to collect money each month from larger pool, why should you then trust them with your money?
Works perfectly fine as a VPN, nice security options. More of a surface level VPN without a lot of options except country. If you're looking for an easy option for a VPN without much need of setup or gimmicking, this is for you. I am not an expert in security things, so no idea. Most importantly, it can't fool Netflix into believing you're from somewhere else, which is kind of a bummer, together with the lack of more advanced options that were sacrificed for simplicity, only 4 stars from me.
For many years Freedome was for me a synonymous of working stability. Unfortunately, situation has changed for a few last weeks. The app still works, and I hope still protects. However, it slows-down my cellular Internet connection badly, like never before. With really honest sorrow I have to stop using it for now. I will try again in few months. Maybe, than they will repair it... (?)
Money back? For a few years already, there are often location (server) errors where we need to switch to another other location. More recent (lost few month) are connection errors where you need to switch off freedom in the app and switch it on again to get a working connection (up to 50 times a day) , disconnecting/connecting wifi/mobile doesn't help, discon/connecting VPN from phone settings doesn't help. And now the App security function is gone as well. What is the point of using Freedom??
I'm not sure what's happened to this service. I've had it for a few years and it has always just done it's thing in the background and not caused any issues. Recently, however, it has started randomly turning itself off. When it is on it only works well for a while (usually a few hours) before the connection becomes so slow that it is unusable and I have to disconnect and reconnect. If I'm not actively using the phone this results in messages and emails not coming through.
I just noticed for the first time that you responded to my earlier 1 star review with a request for me to contact your office. Sorry it took so long to see it. Willing to give you a 5 after one more issue is resolved: my other devices get covered. Other problems appear to have been corrected. Thanks. I know that the VPN is working because when I use a foreign VPN location I get ads and search results, in part, from that country. The connections are now more stable and last longer.
3 times I've had to down load this app for work each with a year's subscription when you change your phone and try to login it says each time in correct details IVE ONLY GOT 1 EMAIL ADDRESS AND 4 PASSWORDS THAT I USE HOW ARE THEY ALWAYS WRONG. You ask for a password reset it says we've sent you an email IT NEVER ARRIVES. Yet again I've been robbed.
Not completely sure if this paid app is blocking unwanted eyes. I have noticed that when I do general searches on google or amazon, once I'm done, I'll see those same random items I was looking at show up in random ads popping up everywhere. Now why is that.
Was a nice product for many years, but suddenly in the middle of my subscription F-Secure removes the app-feature I've paid for. They also makes my serial number invalid and forces me into creating an account, and set up all my devices again without the app-feature that was there when I paid for my yearly licence. Already found my replacement for Freedome, and will change as soon as my current license ends. Sad, but F-Secures own decision!
well I really like it... for 1 it ACTUALLY WORKS! all the other 'free' ones don't work at all. but there is a catch, which I did get past😂... after downloading the app, you have a little tiny calendar on your right top corner. after 5 days goes by. you need to start paying for a subscription. Lmao, get that noise out of my face😂 all you have to do is clone the app and your trial starts over... if you want, go to one of my YouTube videos and comment if you want the clone apk. I am paying for this app but for some reason my protection keep dropping out, so I must keep turning it on every half hour or so. My phone us Samsung Galaxy S6. Could you please assist me with this? TIA EDIT. I have fixed this issue. I think you should put this out to all users so they know. I spent hours trying to fix this simple problem. Turns out you need to set your app to 'unmonitored' via device maintanance in settings under battery. There is no smart app no more, this has been removed by samsung. Then ensure you do not have another vpn on the phone. Even if they are not functioning at same time they will fight with eachother. Problem solved.
Would love to give 5 stars however not today! Identity issues not addressed so well . Had all kinds of devices included but not wanted, being forwarded and not notified of anything. Permissions grayed out trial period cut short. Also didn't catch any device and software changes. Still shopping around, never got verification email . Overall, very pleased with the service. Reasonably priced, doesn't use too much memory or bandwidth and easy to use. The only issue I have is that, after 6 weeks of trouble free use, the 2 main streaming services I use, Netflix and Amazon Prime, are now blocking access to their programs due to detecting that I am using a VPN.
Used this App when travelling ,never had any problems . Update: I left this VPN for a couple of years because it wasn't compatible with the Fire stick (still isn't) However returned to Freedom this year because it was less glitchy and my subscription had come to an end with the one I was using . Freedom has been working fine up to about 3 months ago but now MY5 and ALL4 are detected and blocked.
Used this in both in the UK and USA without problems. Purchased with the F-secure software suite. It was recommended by an article I read which outlined some research conducted by two universities into exactly how well VPN applications work and if they are working as they should. It appears that a lot do not do what they are supposed to and are compromising a users data. Freedome was the exception in the study and could be thoroughly recommended.
I Was pleasantly surprised at how easy it was. I found that I could install it to up to 3 devices. It keeps my device secure and allows me to access more of the web. It's becoming essential to have a VPN and Freedome VPN is one of the very best. Don't lose your registration code if you need to reinstall it. I did but found it in my files. Merry Christmas.
Looks like they have dropped the ball. Unable to watch UK tv channels for some days now. No response to the many people currently complaining about it on their forum. Thankfully my subscription is just coming up for renewal !! Time to go elsewhere. RESPONSE TO FREEDOM REPLY. BBC and C4 are refusing connections due to my location! I am signed up to and logged on to both of these services - so that's not the issue.
