eh. this overpromised. This app doesn't seem to do anything special worth paying for. it's just a simple habit tracker wrapped up in a bloated UI with some generic or cliché motivational quotes and audio clips. Annoying bedtime notification that pops up way too early at 7PM every evening and can't seem to be changed (?!?) They must know these things aren't worth it and that's why they try to get you to sign up for like seven other paid apps before you even get to use this one, lmao.
I like the idea of this app. The graphics are cool, but the number of pop ups to even get into the app the 1st time is terrible. I've never seen an app this bad with asking a bunch of questions about goals that are all multiple choice instead of letting you put in your own answers, immediately asking to sign up for a free trial when you haven't even gotten to see the app yet, forcing your first goal to be drink water (can't be deleted for some reason), on and on. Too frustrating to use.
2 days in, and they're only pushing drinking water, which I already do, just not in the evenings. Other apps are included in the free trial but you have to download them all. Ugh. Why not combine them all? App burnout is real. No way to customize font, so if you have dyslexia this probably won't work for you since they use a seriffed font. Also cannot customize content once you've set your goals there's no way to skip ahead if you're bored or need to fine tune your goals.
Easy to use. I can see how this would help in the long-term. Cheap for what it's worth. Update, I did have an issue with my free trial and was charged but they handled it quickly and satisfactorily. I'll eventually sign back up when I cancel other subscriptions that I don't need which are adding up but I still recommend this app. It gives you a feeling of peace just by the user interface and appearance. It's well out together. Best wishes to you all in your journeys. This is a good app to add.
A few affirmations, a 3 day assignment where you commit to drinking water for 3 days straight bc it will create a habit in you after 3 days. C'mon, Science learned a while ago that it takes 60 days to build a new habit for an app that gives you very little for the money & misinformation. The kicker.. In order to progress to the next level you have to give them 5 stars! Thats the work. They bribe you in order for you to unlock the next level! Save your money for an app that really can help you!
I wanted to see what this program was about and authorized the $1 trial cost but then the questionnaire turned into something that made it seem like I could only proceed if I accepted the additional subscriptions. I wasn't able to set up an account with a password. When I tried to back out, it acted like I was starting the questionnaire all over again. I didn't want any of the added subscriptions. And now I don't even want the trial. Please cancel this entire thing.
Predatory and deceptive app. Beware. I signed up for a free 14 day trial thinking the price after would be $39.99. Nope. They attempted to bill be $150 because they snuck in 3 ADDITIONAL subscriptions in with the premium subscription. They also make it hard to cancel as you can't cancel on their app, you need to go on their website. Don't bother with this app, they will try to stick you with $150 charges.
ALL OF THE ART IN THE APP LOOKS LIKE AI and I feel like its intentionally difficult to delete your subscription. you can't do it through play store OR the app. you have to cancel through the website. i feel like this can be somewhat predatory for people with adhd. when you do finally find it, you have to go though FOUR prompts begging you to keep your subscription. and then it offers some other app after canceling.
great app! why 2 stars ? well upon using the app for the first time, it offers you the plan for a dollar. got charged 40, I can already read the response, yeah its probably clearly stated .... somewhere in the block of the tiny text. they do it like that so you don't read it. my fault, don't make the same mistake I did, unless you're ok with a 40 dollars a month app.
This app is a scam and a ripoff. I signed up for a short paid trial. I didn't feel like I was getting any benefit from using the app but missed cancelling before the trial ended. I was willing to pay for the one additional period since I missed cancelling before the renewal date but somehow I was signed up for THREE different subscriptions all invoiced at the premium rate! How did that happen? I never agreed to that.
I'm not sure if the app would be helpful bc it's constant pop-ups and shady "free" apps which are just a way to get you to sign up for additional paid subscriptions. You can't use the app without them coming up several times. I was listening to a nightly reset and it came up 3 times interrupting the reading and it wasn't even half way thru. That was the last draw for me and that's why I'm here to give my review and uninstall the app. I get the developer wants to make money, but it's obnoxious.
The app itself is good, just not for me. My problem was trying to cancel before my free trial was over. I tried everything I could to cancel, spent hours trying to do it in fact and was just billed $87 for it. Even a year now is less than $40. Update: In December I was charged ANOTHER $87. Time to look into contacting legal assistance? One month later, and the app says i only have the free account.
Overwhelming amount of reminders. They described the app as new ways to tackle ADHD and be productive but really its just reminders. Lots and lots of reminders. Oh, and all the time setting them up. If reminders were going to work for me they would have by now. There is nothing revolutionary about this program. One more thing....you can't cancel thru the app, have to go to their website. It is very pretty and they have a LOT of things for you to read or listen to if that's what you want.
I didnt make use of this app. My schedule is too inconsistent for it to be effective. I attempted to cancel my subscription, and was told to do so via the website. I did so via the website. two weeks later my bank was charged repeatedly for it. 4 charges went through successfully, a dozen others were denied. each charge was paired with a $1 international fee. the service might have been nice if Id been able to use it, but the technical side and management is atrocious and bordering on theft.
I canceled the subscription and it still tried to take the money out of my account. Very hard to cancel subscription. "Go to fabulous on the web" but does not give website. I found it "thefabulous.co " I'm glad I blocked the app on my card in December because even though I canceled in December they still tried and continue to try to take $39.99 out of my account. A trial is a trial and should be able to be canceled. I wish these apps would stop taking advantage of people and their money.
A visually cluttered, confusing mess. Poor Customer Service. The additional apps offered as a free part of your subscription only open a webpage with an error message. When I tried to contact Fabulous customer service, I got the EXACT SAME email from them 5 TIMES in spite of the fact that I responded to the 1st one with additional feedback & screenshots. I then got 2 emails saying my case was resolved. I canceled my trial subscription but received NO email confirmation of it. Very unhappy.
The app is far too much in your face constantly and consistently. I feel 0 motivation to add my routine because it will constantly throw new stuff at you that's not interesting whatsoever. I got the premium for free and I wish I would get a mental refund for it. Even the premium is built like a constant pop-up ad over anything useful Maybe if you navigate the minefield of stuff it throws at you, it would be helpful as a reminder for habits you would like to build up.... but not for me
Extreme gameification of basic habits like drinking water. I don't know what I expected, but since I didn't say anything about health habits as a concern on my intake survey I was surprised that was the first goal or habit (I think this app calls them "journeys") that was prioritized. I didn't like the tone of the directions provided - very pedantic. Reached out immediately to cancel and they processed my cancellation quickly, which is about the best thing I can say about this app.
The Fabulous has predatory business practices while signing up for their trial. It's said to be a "pay what you can" model, but you get misled into paying $16 just to take a look at their app. It's a non-refundable 'set up fee' (I am not sure how downloading an app would require such an expense). Their approach to improvement is setting up routines and daily habits by using a glorified checklist. You can do the same with paper and pen, and it's much more affordable.
Not for me. Great at first then you're constantly bombarded with popups to write a review or share the app or sign up for the other apps. I don't want to be sold to constantly while trying to implement changes. Eventually the reminder alarms get annoying due to having to constantly open your phone. it's also too "bubbly" when you miss routines. I also signed up with the coaching offer. I really liked the idea but turns out you only get 1 session a month. Not enough accountability.
