I've had Fastmail subscription for about 10 years. So I was excited to find this app and install it on my Android 7.1.1 phone. Unfortunately, it rarely works. It constantly freezes up on me. Also, when reading an email from my inbox, the further i scroll down while reading, it starts to become more narrow. Too many other weird bugs and glitches. Most the time, i get so frusterated trying to use it, I just end up waiting till i get home to check emails on my PC. This App needs A LOT of work!

It somehow never occurred to me that Fastmail might have an app. I'm very happy with it. One of the best parts is that it clears the notifications almost immediately if you mark new emails as read from another device. But it does everything else well too. I'm not a heavy email user on my phone, but I do want to be able to see emails as they come in, and it works very nicely for that.

If you have a fastmail account, this is the best way to read email on the service. Why? Because uses the built in fast search. This client will also follow settings you have set in the web client. Notifications suck in this client. I frequently get a new mail notification in the client, click on it to launch the app... And the new mail isn't in the list. Until I refresh the list. Or, I see a notification for a message I already read and deleted.

The App was crashing about a month ago, however, after having several discussions with support, it is likely my phone or settings within the phone. The problem went away by itself, so to speak, so I am not sure exactly what caused it as I did not make any active changes. Support was knowledgeable and went beyond standard information and fixes that seem the endpoint for many customer service representatives. I have been using the service for years and this was the only issue I have had

Used to be awesome but the recent UI changes have broken really basic functionality. Things moved or arranged haphazardly, you can't download attachments directly from an email anymore (you have to save it to their file service then download from there). I have used this service for a long time and have had no complaints before now. Like another reviewer mentioned, though, we are paying for this. It is inexcusable to break the user experience of paying customers in frankly baffling ways.

I'm updating my review to 3 stars because clearing the cache and data after uninstalling and reinstalling the app solved the login issue. The old version's interface was much better. ******The old app version was great. I was disappointed with the new version but at least it worked, until yesterday. Please undo whatever update just went through because now I can login online fine but I can not login on the app.

Good Service, Terrible app. While I'm enjoying using the service with my custom domain and the web application is really good, this app is just bad. It's overcrowded, labels don't display well on the email list and overall the app feels very dated. I've decided to use a third party client instead. I can't even keep the app installed, as even after removing notifications from both the apps internal settings and my phone, it continues to display a notification badge on each new email. Not good.

I've had no issues with this Fastmail app. I've had this now for about the last six years. I use this app as my notifier for my calendar events and I do not replicate them to the google account or gmail account associated with the phone that it is loaded on. This is nothing like a Microsoft Outlook client or Gmail client, but operates very efficiently. I would recommend this client for those who have a Fastmail email.

Unfortunately Fastmail is also following the enshittification of all software movement. This used to be a good app. It now refreshes the app while you're using it. Great. Clicked "load images" and scrolled down an email message, then clicked a link and came back? What about a refresh and then you have to click "load images" again and scroll all the way down to -- uh, where to? The app should've remembered it but yeah it refreshed. Oh my, why? Why make things worse?

Been using Fastmail for a lot longer on iPhone and PC and the Android app mirrors the experience very well. Everything is where you'd expect it like the desktop app. Calendar, contacts, notes, and of course, email work great.

terrible at uploading photos to send. half the time it takes forever, the other half it won't load. I have to send one email a day at least with photos and with this app a 5 min email takes 40 minutes and many attempts.

UPDATE: I have uninstalled it. This is a poorly designed app. ORIG: I like this app a lot. Yes, it's not perfect, as it is missing some standard functions, but for me it's better than the stock email client on my phone. Hope they continue to improve this app.

I have been using Fastmail for some years now and the addition of offline capability in Android is the reason I have switched to it from my current app. Having mail / calendar / contacts in one app is a must. But the single biggest weakness is a lack of contact integration with Android. The contacts need to be available as an account in the phone so they are available to navigation and other apps. Stove-piping them keeps me using DavX5. Which fortunately works fine but shouldn't be needed.

Great App. This email service is very fast. It's provide all the features I expected. Subscriptions methods are very reasonable. Support team also perfect. I love this email service. Thanks for the creators.

Decent app, but clearly not designed for mobile. There's no calendar widget. UI could really use a coat of paint with to match latest Android UI. The app may not be very good, but Fastmail as a service is exceptional. I hope they'll improve the app at some point.

App is fairly great. but the calendar should really be a separate app or at least have a much easier shortcut to get to. It takes 4 clicks to open your calendar, terrible.

Update: the graphical glitches are less frequent now. The app is, despite a number of quite glaring instances of lag and very common graphical glitches, quick and well designed, but it still does not provide for the offline storage of emails i.e. you need to be online to effectively use the app. That's very restrictive, especially for business use. For example, not having access to email while on a plane or on a subway is a major negative.

If the app wasn't so wasteful with white space everywhere, or had an option for a condensed display (without needing to lower font size), I'd like it a lot more. I also would love if there were three swipe actions per direction - short, medium, long swipe. That would allow me to swipe 99 percent of emails without needing more cumbersome UI. Finally, I still need to use a third party tasks app, as using the Fastmail calendar for repeating reminders, results in massive calendar clutter.

An amazing service and the application. I love the total UI redo, it's more stable now, though I had to get used to it. Two details though: the application doesn't allow to be set as a default, whilst I'd like to set it as one for both the Email and the Calendar; and I'd like it to generate for me a Home link which opens Calendar, allowing to use general link to call Email and that one special to call Calendar (doing the same for Notes will be even more appreciated). Hoping to see the changes
