So nice, I bought it twice! I have it on my old iPad as well as my Google Pixel. The iOS version is slightly more polished (for example: you can't move items between containers in your inventory in the Android version for some reason but you can on iOS), but the $3 price for no ads and unlimited characters is infinitely better than alternatives' need for subscriptions and purchasing of individual books and such. Highly customizable and easy to create characters. Easy 8/10
Being fairly new to the game, I got this app and it was blown away at the Simplicity of the UI. To be honest, I hate that other websites don't allow their apps and their servers to sync. Here, all you need is your phone. Only gripe is that I have to find files to import to cover all the new books, but I'm a tech nerd in that was pretty easy. Props to this group, I hope you continue your great work, it was worth the money to get the full version unlocked.
I absolutely love this app! It's is a small learning curve compared to dnd beyond but once you learn it, it's a game changer. Sources are easy to find and upload into the app so it's not like it charges you for every supplement or book. I do wish the interface for android was the the same for ios though. I have them on both and while they're not major differences, it's still easy to navigate.
Best app I've found overall so far as it allows me to easily manage summons, items, and custom on the fly spells and features. I'm taking 1 star off for two reasons. If the char is over encumbered there is no indicator, and there is no option for the variant encumbrance rules. There is also no easy way to track things like once per day spells. Other than that this is an excellent app.
I've played using the 3.5 and the 5e app. Both are wonderful. I enjoy the ease of creating a character, min/maxing, and playing using the app. Some small tweaks I wouldn't mind seeing is perhaps an area to see a breakdown of scores. When you look at your Dex score, and area that would show a base+level+item+buff would be cool. App plug-ins for various books or releases would be nice as well, even if they are pay2play.
Years of use and still a good app. It's best if you find an expanded compendium online, but I understand why the app doesn't come preloaded with all the content (copyright infringement). The only issue I routinely deal with is the [export to character sheet] function, which is intended to create a copy of the character formatted to the traditional D&D style character sheet PDF. It often spits out garbled text due to errors formatting.
I ditched D&D Beyond for thos app. I love how much more freedom I get with Fight Club 5e. I get so much more here for just a couple bucks, while D&D Beyond wants hundreds of dollars for access to all the extra stuff that makes the game so fun. With this app, I'm given the freedom to test out all of a character's parts and contrast and compare unique builds without restriction. Thanks for looking out, guys.
Help!! I have added so much to my compendium and now it's all gone and my backups say they won't load because the file isn't the correct format even though I used the app to back up the data?? I literally saved it in 3 different places trying to avoid this exact situation. The idea of redoing it all is daunting and I don't think I have the heart to do it. I need to fix this to be able to use this app again. :(
Really great so far. I'm using this for DnD 2024, and they make it very easy to grab the compendiums off the internet and load them into the app. The only issues I've found so far, is that I can't find a way to manually adjust skills (for training or even to apply Expertise). I can manually add spells (for the Magic Initiate background) but it forces me to apply them to a race or class I already have, so no selecting Wis mod. And they say I can move gear between containers, but can't.
This is a GREAT app... but don't make anything in it. I've been using this app for a good majority of like 3 years or so and I've loved it, the only caveat is that I can spend hours making something like a subclass, an item, a feat, a race, etc.. all for it to be gone the next time I opened the app. Good to use if you don't make content and only use the features you import, really user-friendly interface and you can import ANYTHING you want into it just don't make the same mistake I did.
Normally, I absolutely love this app. Recently however, if you make updates to the compendium, it completely wipes out all of your data. Hours upon hours of work is just gone. Edit: I had hoped the recent update would have fixed the random crashing and deletion of data when making edits. Unfortunately, it still seems to crash when editing or creating equipment.
It's a little difficult getting the book content on the app until you get used to it. The developer's reddit links to both official and unofficial content that you can download and then use in the app. After getting past the initial difficulties, the app is great! Extremely organized and easy to use. Well worth the small purchase price for multiple characters and no ads (free version ads are not invasive). I've stopped using physical character sheets entirely thanks to Fight Club.
Great app, but 1 major issue. I just happened to have an issue with my device a week after installing and setting up. I had paid for the premium version and was very happy with the results but then I was forced to factory reset my tablet due to issues unrelated to Fight Club 5e. I expected to lose my characters, luckily I had backups, what I was not expecting to lose was my premium status. I have tried emailing the issue but have received no response.
Sturdy foundation that requires the user to manually add files. Files are easy to find, but still require manual download and addition to the app. Past the initial setup, though, fight club works well. With the reliance on user content, though, there are some buggy stats that require manual tweaking. The tweaks are easy, though. Also, the paid version is more than worth it.
A very solid app! I've been using it for years now and fairly quickly bought the full edition and it has wholeheartedly been worth it. Once you find the XML files you can find everything you need in here. I've only every noticed problems here or there, things like there's no place to write certain proficiencies such as tool or language, and that when multiclassing there's no way to track more than one set of slots, such as warlock vs wizard. Otherwise though, phenomenal app.
Honestly, this is a great app. I've been using it for a few years now in lieu of traditional character sheets. EDIT: I had a whole irritated diatribe about how they re-posted the app and killed purchases, but it turns out that it was because WotC got on them for some bit of copyright, not a scam. Customer service was amazing and prompt in refunding my original purchase, and I immediately purchased premium on this version. It's worth it.
Once populated with the content I use, incredibly useful for making characters, referencing rules, even playing D&D when all I had with me was my phone. Easy to customize and add your own content, including items, spells, classes/subclasses, etc. right in the app or from a computer in bulk with a little know-how. Nice of quality of life things, like the ability to select a type of rest to take, or trackers for class abilities that automatically recharge when you take a rest. Always using it, 5⭐
An amazing app; however, some of the few bugs it has are devastating. When copying a weapon to make a unique entry in the compendium, every single equipment entry disappeared. The compendium was basically empty with exception to race entries and maybe a couple other sections. Not the first time my data has been suddenly and inexplicably lost. Another time, closing down the app as normal, I've returned the next day for the character I created to have disappeared. This hasn't happened since though
Fantastic all in one app to handle all your player needs. Some uses of the app are a little hard to find (things buried under class features), but once you learn the way around it's quick and easy. Having offline access is invaluable and makes it way better than dnd beyond. Wishes: sync between devices, printable character sheets are poorly formatted and incomplete.
The app is great and is an extremely viable alternative to dnd beyond where you have to buy anything, here you just get the premium for a couple of bucks and your good to go. A few little neashes about the app get on my nerves, like how you have to go online and download your own compendium if you want access to all the content, but it's every single source book for a few dollars instead of 30 dollars for one. Overall very useful, a little weird and has some odd bugs but would definitely recomme
