This game brings back so many childhood memories and I loved playing the PS version even more with the revamped graphics. However, the OS version doesn't have the "Encounters on/off button" that the PS version has and I was just a little disappointed in it. If you'd like to try to include that in your next update, I'd certainly appreciate that. Thanks again.

Overall, it's a great version of the game. There are a lot of QoLs for mobile so you know that they put a lot of thought into making it a great experience. I was a little apprehensive at the updated sprites at first, but after playing for a while now I think I'm on board. I really wish there was an option for a different font and I REALLY can't understand why the extra content wasn't included in this version. I don't buy the "keeping it close to the original" explanation. Hopefully it'll get released in an update... I also wish the bestiary was accessible in-game instead of only at the menu.

I did not experience the problems other players reported. Possibly fixed with an update. Double experience, double gold, half prices in shops, monsters are weakened, and maps are available for the dungeons. It's designed to give you that sense of nostalgia replaying a childhood favorite and also to be quick playing mobile rpg. I personally thought it was excellent. Most excellent.

Having beaten the game and getting every achievement, I'd say it's a great remaster! Fantastic rework of the soundtrack, and I was pretty happy with the sprites, art, and now having widescreen. My only real complaints are with the controls. The tap-to-move is a great option and definitely is playable, but there is absolutely no controller support. This was a pretty solid deal breaker for me, and I do not plan to purchase the other remasters unless they add controller support for them.

I've been enjoying the game greatly so far! Everything seems to work as intended, though the achievement for accessing the slide puzzle minigame doesn't seem to work. I've accessed (and beat) it many times, and still don't have the achievement. Other than that, complaints are very minimal: the font is rather small, as are the buttons in the battle menu in general. I also find the virtual thumbstick difficult to move with, but thankfully the tap controls make that virtually a non-issue

PLEASE update this so that it doesnt require me to have internet access just to boot the game! It is absolutely absurd that I have to pay $10 for a three decade old remastered game that needs wifi. This must be fixed, it NEEDS to be fixed as soon as possible! But other then that, this may be the greatest remaster/remake of FF1 that I have ever seen, the game is absolutely gorgeous, the audio pops, and the frammrate is super smooth! But that damn wifi connection... REALLY needs to be fixed!

Game constantly freezes. If you lock your phone and come back the game is completely unresponsive. Must save every 5 minutes or risk losing 10-20 minutes of progress if you get a phone call or check a text. Overall. Looks good plays good, sounds good. But for god's sake, don't require me to have an internet connection to play it. That's a joke.

Game somehow feels disappointing. I've beaten Final Fantasy 30+ times in my life, played on every platform and every version. This one seems off. Cons: 8-way control is too sensitive, I can't walk through doors or talk to people without going off in the wrong direction. Font is not that great, just hard on the eyes. No controller support. No auto save on close. Seems a little laggy at times for no reason. Colors of villages look horrible. Sprites are eh. Pros: Slightly better music.

I'd give it a 4 if not for the drm and I'd give it a 5 if it had an option for original difficulty. Shop prices are halved and experience for level up is reduced. Makes the game too easy especially without the bonus content from previous releases. Went for throw back graphics, why not throw back difficulty? On the plus side the music is beautiful. So too are the visuals. Spell effects especially. Seems they we're going for a sort of 16bit+ look and feel and I think they nailed it.

I bought this version to have something to play while in waiting rooms. I already bought it on the switch 2, but I didn't want to bring a whole switch with me. this is my preferred version. I grew up playing Gameboy and Gameboy advance games, so games with pixel graphics like this just feel more natural to me on a smaller device. even though I've loved the final fantasy series for 15 years and gotten very far into many of the games, this is the first FF game I have defeated the final boss in.

Good and yet it upsets me a little. As someone who played the original on nes it looks similar and yet plays like a different game. Should have a setting to play in classic mode. You know, in case one doesn't want to be level 17 in 4 hours. The Peninsula of Power being absent REALLY upset me and makes me of the opinion that use of the word remaster is wrong.

I played several different versions over the years and enjoyed this one as well. Other than sound and picture upgrades, the only noticeable differences than previous versions is that it felt slightly easier (easier to level up and prices in shops seemed slightly lower). However, the areas towards the end of the game were still challenging. Overall, I'm glad I got and played it.

Overall had a great time playing this game on mobile. Game ran mostly smoothly and sounded great. Only issue I found was when selecting enemies to attack sometimes it would just attack inorder instead of the opponents I selected to be attacked first. This issue happened atleast 1 in every 20 fights. Luckily the fights are pretty easy mostly so it doesn't matter, but I can see it being a issue if you try to speed through the game and get into difficult fights without good equipment.

Decent game for its time. Like it much better than I remember, but possibly because I actually knew how to use a map this time. Final boss has a hell of a difficulty spike compared to the rest of the game, was the only time I had to do any grinding. The rest of the game was a steady progression that didn't take me away from moving the story along.

So, having spent 15 hours and beating this game again I must say it is very good. Everything about this is pretty great. There is one exception, and that's the encounters in dungeons and world map. It's not random, it definitely feels like every 10 or so steps you are in combat again. It does get to be very tedious, ESPECIALLY on the ship. But, I can kind of see why they did this. There really isn't much grinding required to teach lvl 50 for final boss.

I am a big final fantasy fantasy fan and have tried to play this for a few months now. I downloaded it on my old phone and it crashed every few minutes. I used a ln emulator on my laptop that I use for all my high end mobile games. It still crashed every few minutes. Months later, I get a brand new high end phone that runs exceptionally well. The game doesn't crash anymore. Instead it is unplayable. I got stuck in the first town due to dialogue not working. Then the third battle black screened.

It really is the best way to play the game on mobile. The new music, pixel art, and touch controls make it a much better experience than emulating an older version. I had no game breaking bugs and minimumal slowdown (but not 0). Save often as like any mobile app, this will close if it gets sent to the background and your devices RAM fills up.

Most of the complaints you see here are valid. The OST and graphics have been improved BUT there is no controller support and internet connection is required to play. If you've already bought the previous version of the game, then I'd recommend from buying this one. Literally nothing much has changed and there is no added content. Overall great for new players but just needs a little tweaking.

The game looks and plays really well. However, it requires an internet connection to boot the game, which was an issue with the old FF mobile ports. Hopefully Square decides to remove the requirement for a connection as it partially defeats the purpose of the game being on mobile. If this was removed, it would be one of the best FF1 ports.

Going all the way back to the beginning, just in time for Stranger of Paradise - what, you haven't heard of that yet? Go watch the trailer on YouTube. This translation shaves some of the difficulty off the original. Veterans will notice a wider variety of curatives. The inclusion of dungeon maps in-game makes the experience much more accessible. Whether you're a long-time Final Fantasy fan or a newcomer to the franchise, now's your chance to experience the game that started it all.
