The day this app doesn't have SOMETHING wrong with it will be the day I can finally relax. Constant bugs, terrible app
I've asked three different people and no one was able to help describe or show how to map a route with this app. It shows the locations of bus stops, but not how to get anywhere (as far as anyone I've encountered can tell) and doesn't show the areas (, tickets are based on areas served) clearly. However, it is easy to purchase tickets. Bad that tickets expire within 24 hours once activated, so use it or lose it (ie, don't change your mind and decide to walk because it's a nice day out)
good when it works but very unreliable, sometimes the bus stops just don't show the map and the search feature comes up with no results making the app useless. I like being able to see where the bus is on the map because that's more accurate than the time tables. We get a lot of replacement buses in the area and some of them are not tracked, but the counter still goes for them.
Rubbish. Unintuitve and not much help. It shows where the bus is but gives ZERO clue as to how long it might take to get to your stop - which is ridiculous as the signs at the stop show this - so why doesn't the app? Also there are often a number of buses that go to the same stop - yet you have to click on each bus number separately and keep flicking to and fro. Once you have nominated a stop it should show you all the buses going there at once. Also can't reverse direction of buses for return
Loads of navigation bugs since the update. Can't go from a stop's departure list to bus tracking, can't get to the departure list from starred stops . Edit: Since a recent update, live updates on the C6 stop in Bristol never work. It always states "a technical issue" 2026 update - the password reset flow is completely broken and now I can't buy a ticket. it also sends you to some random "corethree" domain so password managers don't work smoothly.
very unreliable bus time tables, even the live maps sometimes confuse the buses, sometimes it doesn't even show, the timetable says one thing but the bus at the same time doesn't even show. I rarely review but I just had to say this, been using this app for 2+yrs, the buses for around 10yrs in Wales. horrendous in everything. makes University life a living hell.
Absolutely garbage app. Has always been terrible, with terrible bus tracking, incorrect timetable, "live schedule" flat out lying, ghost buses. As of today, the app is just wasting space on my phone. Couple weeks back it stopped showing bus stops, if I tried to view the ones in my favourites or history, it'd just say technical issues. As of today, I can't even purchase tickets anymore. Useless app, useless service. How's it got over 4 star average when I never see anyone say good things?
Worse than useless. It shows busses that don't exist, it doesn't show busses that do exist. Cannot be reliably used for its primary purpose. Instead of making apps, just have the busses actually show up. It's awful bus companies like this that cause more cars on the road. This app is only useful as a great example of the total lack of respect and consideration Worst Bus have for their customers.
Rubbish user experience. I can't deal with this new dark theme map! It's VERY difficult for me to see, especially on a bright day, and there seems to be no way to switch it back to light theme. Come on devs... Almost every modern app has this option, especially when it affects readability so much. Also there is an error that keeps popping up about a "shell runtime library" which is very annoying. Can't you debug new versions before releasing them? Very disappointed. This app used to be good!
This app used to be functional as a journey planner, but has recently become blighted by technical issues. Still allows tickets to be purchased, but outside of that it's easier to guess when you'll need to get to a bus stop.
PUT SINGLE TICKETS ON ! USELESS. Can't even buy a single ticket or return for 3/6 quid from yarmouth to norwich. just bundles dont need for dailys. sort it out, below par service. such a backwater service usually aswell that if there's a crash on certain roads they'd rather stick thier heads up thier asses than find alternative routes.
Been using the app for years, but it's recently gotten to it's absolute worst state. Weekly lock-outs of using the very ticket I've purchased unless I reverify my email address constantly. Plus today they had a 'survey' which pops up across the entire screen upon launching the app and FAILS to close down past it, yet again being another obstruction trying to access my paid ticket. First Bus app has become a hoatile environment which disrespects paying customers because of the above.
Due to roadworks the buses through my home town are bypassing six stops. NO indication of this on the app, so I only found out when the app showed my bus at the next stop from where I was waiting. I ran to the next stop - only to have the driver, who was several minutes early, move off as I approached the bus. The usual shoddy all-around performance one expects from First. I'm posting here as, typically, it's impossible to actually get through to First to lodge a complaint using the website.
Had the app for a few years and it's always worked fine but since an update I've had to re install and it lost all my saved stops etc and now when trying to buy tickets it says my CVC and postcode is invalid! Tried 3 different cards...what's going on? I can't buy any tickets anymore.
this app used to be quite good but in the past week it's been shocking - buses keep appearing and disappearing. no consistency between the info in the different parts of the app and on the bus stops. Infuriating! sort it out please
Glitched one day and I couldn't view my bus pass even with my data on, sometimes bus time schedules don't show up on the app so I have to rely on waiting for my bus without knowing whether it'll show up or not, I also wish there was a feature where I could be reminded a few days before my monthly bus ticket expires.
Reliable until it isn't. When the bus tracking is working it's great, but if the bus is on a weird time or isn't showing up they'll just default to the timetable time, so you have no way of knowing if it's delayed or not turning up at all.
Don't like dark mode! Any way it can be changed to light mode? Also, since last update flashed a warning message saying:- "You are using a shell runtime library. make sure to process y..." No idea what "y..." means. This needs fixing!
Very reliable and efficient planning routes would recommend. However I don't think there is a way to move saved bus stops across different devices, that could be good or bad.
Great app when it works properly. sometimes, the buses don't show on the map, and you have to refresh or close the app and open it again. It's a small issue but would make the app run more smoothly.
