This is the only clean and simple app for calorie tracking for any desired macro ratio. Edit (2019-09-19): While this is still the best calorie tracking app on the market, the new approach with video ads, pop ups and larger banners make it pretty much unusable to me. The monthly subscription is too high for me and no one time purchase is available. Unfortunately, I will have to use a different app from now on.

I think it's very misleading that they don't add to their Google description that they're UK based and a lot of items will not show up because of that & most will need to be added by hand; which is very time consuming. Don't make the mistake as I did and get a year subscription to find out it's databased only in the U.K. and lose $27.00 for something that can't really be used. They should at least have something upfront letting people know. Don't recommend to anyone outside the UK.
I’ve used this app for years and appreciated how users helped build the food database by scanning and adding products. Now many basic features, like creating a shopping list or copying a full day, are locked behind Premium. Even with a subscription, some actions are limited. I understand monetization, but paywalling core functions makes the app far less practical.
thought it was a great app but day two and im struggling to log anything. keeps saying 'an error occured' 😒
The app is very complete. I've been using it for a couple of weeks now, haven't tracked my weight loss progress just yet, but I'm finding it easy and comfortable to use. Perhaps the workout section is lacking some basic weightlifting exercises like hip thrust, leg press, hack squat machine (at least I haven't found them). It would be nice to be able to view the ingredients we have favorited when creating a recipe. Update: lost 3kg! Progress is looking good
It's fine as a calorie tracker. If you scan the barcode of food the calories and macros are usually wrong, or the weight of the item is wrong. May just be that the data is old. Other smaller issues, the rating for "healthy" food is nonsense, MacDonald fries is 4.6/5. It analyses ingredients in food, but identifies things like sugar as very harmful, even if it's in tiny amounts. Overall it's fine for tracking calories, the interface is clean and nice and easy. Just don't rely on their data.
In-app marketing is too offensive. I want to test the app and if I like it, I will buy the premium version. Constant pop-ups are very annoying, especially after adding a meal! I know that you earn money from ads, banners are okay and maybe one pop-up per day, e.g. after adding first meal, but not all the time. This is really annoying and does not encourage to purchase the premium version. It does quite the opposite.
Originally 5, then 1, then back to 3 stars. I reiterate it's the best app out there, but they have added intrusive ads unless you pay (it was bound to happen, the app was too good to remain fully free). I just hate how it (intentionally, it seems) takes like a second for the ad pop, so it stops you from performing the action you were going to do and instead you click on the ad. Quite annoying and scummy. They recently also changed the font and it is horrendous. Please revert it
My first impression is an 9/10. The information that offers it is really complete. Furthermore, you can connect it with other Apps, what it is really helpfull if you want to track your diet. The design is not bad, I like it more than other Apps like My Fitness Pal, this could be improve by adding a Pie Chart to see the proportion (percentage) of carbs, protein and fats in your dayly or weekly intake
Good things about the app, but.. Once you put together your own 'dishes' (incl eg coffee with milk, granola etc), it gets easier. But finding the right ingredients is iffy. VERY often the macros are incorrectly added by, I assume, other users of the app. The finding and editing function of one's own 'dishes' should be easier & more intuitive. Because of the previous point, creating one's own dishes is crucial. My way around it was adding my name to the dish's name
Compare to other apps I tried, this is the easiest app to apply food count in my daily dairy. It contains a lot of food products for you&add. Even if you cant find the product, you can add a product/dish, input the calorie values and easily input the portion you had from it. It's an eye opener to know how much I actually eat and now I am able to consider and judge the amount of food I take in -food shopping last longer and saving money, maintain a healthy weight for my size. Thank you, great app
Whoever created this app must have a genuine passion for helping people get healthy. 🤍 The free version is just so good, I have been using it for 1-2years. Upgraded version must really rock it, but basic one does for me what I need 😆💪🏼Tip 💗 Click on various bars, buttons, options to play around with it, and to see how many useful features there are. I can't recommend it enough, especially for tracking macros, minerals and vitamins. App: Please continue to verify/delete new products.
I wouldn't waste your money on the AI image scanner. Its estimates of the type and weight of food are not only wrong but inconsistent. I took two virtually identical pictures of the same food and once it thought there's 50g of an ingredient and another time it said there was 5g of it. In reality, it was neither. This alone makes it virtually useless. Plus, it doesn't learn. Even if you correct it, it will still give you an incorrect answer the next time. It's just a dumb tool.
It's hard to look for the basic foods, because of the brands. I'd suggest to developers to designate a separate category for the basic products. Also the widget was advertised, but it's not working, I couldn't find how to add it on my home screen. "Motivation" tab is too far and hidden so I don't always remember to mark the things I've done. Besides these little issues that hopefully will be fixed, the app does it's job and helps a lot
Good choice if starting to count your calorie intake, specifically due to its barcode scan option (although not all products are in its database). The app has fundamental problems, and the support is not very responsive. I bought the subscription to create my own dishes, but I have had problems since the beginning. After emailing a few times, they acknowledged the problem and said they are working on it. Almost four months have passed, and no change. I am fed up and canceled my subscription
App is great, it helps me a lot to control my diet. But I noticed some mistakes in the amount of calories in some dishes in recipes section. I reported that but till now no one changed it. Mistakes like that happens when common people adding new products and dishes and no one controls it . Overall, i can still recommend Fitatu, but use it wisely.
I honestly couldn't recommend this app highly enough. I love the macros per meal breakdown, the ability to track water intake, the meal reminders, the way it let's you copy meals to other days/meals, the way it saves recipes... Really it's only "weakness" is it's database, which doesn't bother me much since I try to eat mostly whole foods. Anyway, it's an outstanding app!
You need to pay for some of the options or to connect to basic training apps, you cannot customize some of things without it neither. Because some meals are added by the community, it's inconsistent with kcals and other things and just makes it inconsistent and most of the time (unless it's a mean from a big chain) inaccurate, which just makes it pointless. There's a lot of pointless things in one place which makes it confusing.
The features seem very good, but the registration / login experience is so badly design, that it is hard to give it much credit for the rest. You start, it collects lot of data, then after you have filled a lot of the data, you realize that you're not logged in, and the data could be lost. You log in, then it says it has to delete all the data, ok, you proceed, Facebook, all data again, it gets stucks, you restart it, you add all again... you restart the app, now is asking for data again...
please add the feature and ability to do custom intermittent fasting with flexible timing.
