Was in the store shopping and picked up an item that had a tag saying you can get so much off with the "digital" coupon on the app. Went on the app, added the coupon and proceeded to check out. At the checkout the price was not reflected with the coupon. Asked the cashier and was told it takes 24 hours, a full day, to add a digital coupon. That's beyond old fashioned, out of date with current technology trends and plain stupid on the one that wrote the policy governing "digital" coupons.
As a cashier at one of your locations, please fix digital coupons. It drives us all insane to have to get a manager to manually enter the things every time someone comes up with one, and we wouldn't have to do it if they just worked as intended. That being said, I do like being able to see the weekly ad before the morning they put it out in-store, so you get a couple stars for that, at least.
Though some improvements have been made to this app since my original review, the biggest flaw I am finding today is that I can't seem to transfer items from my List to my Cart! You can swipe left to remove an item, but there are no instructions on how to put the item in your cart. I tried swiping right, but it didn't work. I uninstalled and reinstalled, but nothing changed. Very disappointing app. Walmart has grocery pickup and their app works great. Just sayin'.
I like food city but they ordered this app from wish. The design is bulky. Search function is useless. Favorites are not categorized. If there is an unavailable item (from your list), it will say *something* is unavailable. It won't tell you what it is but it won't let you proceed without removing it. Anything you order can be added in triplicate or more to your cart. If you do want multiples of things, you have to navigate away to choose how many and then you start back at the top.
This ap has been updated and now you cannot see enough of the weekly ad or the coupon descriptions to be able to plan your shopping trip in advance. Coincidentally, I've also discovered that this ap does not work on my local stores WiFi. It continuously tells me that my login credentials are not valid. But if I disconnect from WiFi it works with no issues.
Searching for items does not work, it literally will bring up everything except what you searched for. I can't even place an order because it takes hours to go through every item looking for what you need. That combined with high prices and a charge for the pick up service make it unreasonable to consider using. Very disappointed but at this point going out of my way to another store is more worth my time and money.
Never been able to use it. It won't let me register. It says value card number and name do not match. I have had this card for years and no name change. I've used my all permutations of my name, my wife's maiden name, our names hyphenated. Nothing works. There is no option for help. I have deleted the app. I would not recommend this app to anyone. I'm sure over time they have lost business from issues with the app.
App is very slow; some items like Wavy Lay's for example will say "not available at this store"; need to be very careful to check your quantity if you modify at all before finishing order; Walmart app and others will let you know through email or app if items are not available and allow you to remove or make changes. Food City will call you about items not available and then you go back and forth over the phone with youngsters who don't know about products. Charge is unnecessary.
This app earns 0 Stars. I have tried to shop with this app on several occasions but have only done one actual pick-up 1. It is impossible to find the items that I've been buying at my local Food City Store for decades. I'm told this app lists items that are available in every Food City Store. Then, it should be easy to find Keebler Pecan Sandies Butter cookies, right? Nope, not there. The weekly paper is way too small to read comfortably. 1 ☆ for being able to add comments.
I have once again returned to remind everyone that this app is garbage, and they have not improved it at all since my last review in 2023. it operates exactly the same. the search function is impossible to use as their full inventory does not appear to be listed on the app, and that is further complicated by the fact that the search will return with every single item from that aisle. the only use this app has for me is viewing the sales papers before I get to the store.
the store is great and I know a lot of the associates and they always speak. They do not have a self check and a lot of time the lines are way backed up. I use the app a lot and it works well especially since my wife and I use it so we can both add to our list of shopping needs. The negative is it take forever to find the digital coupons and I do not know of a way to find it by search tools.
Absolutely horrible app experience since they have updated it. No longer can see my account without registering an email address, which then requires me to give them my home address because they require you to have a valucard. When I tried just using it as a guest, and tried to just simply change my store to the one that isn't 50+ miles away. It refuses to let me. Horrible new app experience. Fix it.
Unfortunately, I have to say worthless app. Especially for shopping online and setting up for pick up. Slow, buggy, location problems. The Food City 5 minutes from me has curb side pick up available. But the app doesn't work for shopping, so kind of useless. App needs a major overhaul.
The food city app on makes it so much easier for me to shop. I can just tap on the coupons you want or the items you are shopping for. Then go to food city and pick them up. And I love the dilIivery and curbside pickup. It makes it so very much easier for me to shop that way. Especially when I can't get out and go to the store because of my back pain caused by all of the back surgeries I've had to have. I really love this app.
Too many bugs and not user friendly. As far as apps go, this is the least polished and hardest to use. And as of right now, I can't even get into it via my wifi. It works over data and all public wifi connections, but not at home and nothing about my wifi has changed and it's not just the app. The website no longer works either.
Poor, app would not recognize my id and password. I was unable to use it. Went to website to load a didital coupon and was not able to do that either. This whole process is too cumbersome. I've been a Food City customer for years. You have all my information. Its linked to my card. I shouldn't have to enter a login every time I try to use the app or login. This has been a big waste of my time. Off to Engles.
I love the sales and prices of my local store, but the management and staff are less desirable. You can never get service when you need it in the bakery, deli, or meat market. It doesn't matter what time of day it is, they only have ONE register open. they're WORSE than Walmart! I never thought that would be possible! They really need to get NEW MANAGEMENT before they run off all their business. I know I'm not the only customer that feels this way.
if you go there make sure you watch what you are being charged. I won't go there anymore because every time I go I get overcharged, then have to waste time dealing the cashier and managers to get them to honor their prices.
I haven't been able to log in through this app or the website since I created the account. This is a big disappointment especially since Food City is teying to make inroads to our local market share against Kroger.
