Declined my eBay purchase even though a pending charge went through to my card for the first installment as soon as I tried to complete purchase. I understand needing to confirm available funds, but makes no sense to charge me without allowing me to complete my purchase. The amount requested matches the exact purchase total, so it isn't a discrepancy causing the error.
I find it absolutely ridiculous that a pay in four app has something that they call a "Plus" membership that allows you to shop at the most common stores. you can't shop at Amazon without paying an additional $12.99 a month for this app. I highly suggest using affirm, afterpay, klarna, and zip to name a few - every one of these don't have membership fees and allow you to shop anywhere. I'm sure this app is perfectly lovely, but I'm not paying $12.99 to find out.
THIS IS AN UPDATE FROM MY ORIGINAL 1 STAR REVIEW!! My previous review was from 2022. Since then, this app has improved significantly. Purchasing is easy and my favorite part is that the card info sits at the bottom of the screen so I do not have to go back and forth between screens. Only giving four stars because unlike other pay in 4 sites, they have yet have options for travel sites, cruises, and giftcards. They will be at the top once they have those options.
Very deceiving. It was great when I started. Buy something, make 4 payments. it was great. used it for a long time faithfully. Came in handy when your struggling. Then out of nowhere they say you can't use it. They tell you the app resets in 48 hrs, 7 days or a month. Whatever one they want to tell you. They say there monitoring the problem. The developer seems to think support helps you. "Support" does not get back to you.
They approved an amount, so i checked out with it, on a few products I would have waited for until payday. however, they didn't approve it when Amazon processed it. Amazon therefore charged my debit card. That money was for something else and has completely screwed me. Amazon didn't immediately charge me, a few days had passed and it took awhile to figure out what had happened. I recommend Zip and Klarna.
DO NOT USE THIS APP! I placed an order through Amazon for multiple items and was charged creating my pay in 4 plan. One of my items was not available and was removed from my order reducing the actual charge on my pay 4 card. I tried to have this corrected and was denied after sending proof of the cancelation of the one item. I have since paid the card off. I attempted again to have this corrected, providing proof, and again denied. They have stolen money from me through a fraudulent charge.
used to love it. been using this app for awhile now and have an $1800 spend limit. usually I could go in and use the limit I have no problem. all of a sudden it tells me I'm only allowed $35. I pay off my stuff early too no late payments no changes in income except I make more now. when I reach out for support all they could tell me was use another bank. $35 isn't going to help when you have to have a minimum order of $35.
I bought a gift card for my son's game for Christmas, the app worked fine. I made my first payment, went just fine. I thought, maybe its worth it to subscribe to four+, upon my attempt to subscribe it says my account is not allowed to place any further orders and support representatives would not be able to provide any additional information. now what the heck is that all about. Will be paying them and deleting the app. terrible treatment of a new customer.
Its not bad, but they charge me membership fees to use certain stores like Walmart, Target, Amazon, ect which are common stores Memebership is not worth it when other pay laters have them automatically. They give you a credit and have limits on stores, example you may have a $200 credit and can only use $60 of that. You can't and not allowed to use the remaining balance until you pay the $60 off. You do have other options outside of this app that is better.
Although one of my purchases was processed smoothly, I encountered difficulties when attempting to use it again, as I was provided with a credit card featuring an invalid security code, an issue that arose on multiple occasions. I reached out to the support team via email three times, but unfortunately, my inquiries were left unaddressed after the initial response. I am therefore extremely dissatisfied with this app.
worked fine for a month. then it said I have a $0 spend limit even though i've paid on time and paid most of them off already. customer service is nonexistent. this is there response when I contacted the email they gave me lol Hi Elizabeth! I would like to update my review. The company sent back my money. And straightened everything out! Since then the app works fine. I would give 5 Stars but they need to add a customer service number. It is difficult reaching anyone on the app. You can reach them by email but that is a slow process. Please consider adding a customer service number.
was finally able to place order. limit wasn't high, but it helped me get something. easy process. 1 star taken away because the app is faulty. support chat doesn't work when I needed help about being double charged. support chat is stuck on AI assistant. yet doesn't let u choose support option. doesn't even allow u to type manually in chat box to speak to actually human. it's just frozen. please fix
I gave a 1 star because the membership shop price just to shop with popular common retailers like Amazon, Walmart and Target is $12.99 that is expensive compared to others. I don't like the fact that I can't replace any of my debit cards for future payments because I have a order with a balance. what if I got a new debit card and the others are old or I used someone else's card once for a payment, I should be able to replace the cards as long as the balance is brought up to date and not late.
Took me about a year to get my spending limit to $1,000 but so recently my payment declined during the +subscription normally its on autopay, so I redo it and it goes through this time but it tells me my account isn't approved to place orders.. I've tried speaking to customer support but my account isn't on the priority list due to not being able to get the subscription or use the app. My account is basically square one which makes no sense at all.
too good to be true, was about to use the spending limit I have and get four plus then all of a sudden the option disappeared and now it's not even letting me select any four plus stores anymore . big letdown for this app to do this then say u have no spending limit, update, , , emailed support team, they sent a blah blah blah email , I did everything they asked. still no response from them, definitely a scam app, BEWARE
doesnt work well! my virtual card keeps getting declined from the shops im able to purchase from - which is annoying. im trying to reach customer service but they say itll be a while. They did mention if it is important enough that they'll be able to get back at me within days...so there's that. im following their guidelines for my purchases, yet they keep getting declined. theyre sure REAAAAL quick to take my monthly subscription cost though. DO NOT RECOMMEND! USE Sezzle, AfterPay, literally.
I signed up and got a $300 spending limit. I was able to order an item. I signed up for their subscription service to access paywalled merchants and suddenly would get a $0 spending limit every time I would try to shop at a retailer. Despite paying off my first and only order, I still get hit with a $0 limit to this day. Every other BNPL app is better than Four. Everything about Four sucks.
Excellent app, except for one thing. There is a grocery restriction on Amazon? Can't evwn buy snacks... Odd, but otherwise Four is great. No issues ordering. No issues making payments. No subscription issues. Highly recommend this app, for those (like me) who need more time to pay.
Customer service is non existent. there's no way to speak to a human. I have money in my bank account and a decent spending limit on this app. I went to place a walmart order, which I paid more for, only to have the card they provided to me decline multiple times. I also want to add that Four has already taken THEIR first payment out of my bank account (in addition to their $12.99 subscription fee). If I want to cancel the card I'm told my money will be in my acct in 3 days. this is unacceptable
