Alarms stopped working on my android device altogether. My diabetes management has been so hard and the app is so unreliable that sometimes i wonder what software development methodology is adopted by the company?!
The app uses all of my 5GB monthly data. There's nothing I can do against it because when I turn of mobile data for the app, it stops showing me my glucose despite working via Bluetooth. The app should not need any mobile data at all. I wonder what kind of private information is sent that comes up to 5GB every month. Please fix this. I can't even buy more data because the app will just use it up again. I am going on holiday this year without data. It sucks, it really sucks.
The app has always been slow, and it seems to only be getting slower with time. Every time I open it, I have to wait around a minute until I have both a reading and the graph. The app also constantly loses signal, despite my phone being in my pocket or next to my bed. It sends notifications about this, even though the alarm is set to off. On the topic of not respecting the settings within the app, the low glucose alarm blasts at max volume, despite low phone volume. Very disappointing.
I like the idea very much but the app needs much improvement. Now that it works at all with Android 13, it's Bluetooth connection still somehow manages to regularly interfere with my WiFi network connection. I have to switch off BT to be able to watch YouTube etc without constant interruptions. That means, I don't have contact with my sensor when BT is off and I won't get any alarms. Also, to get the BT connection back for the sensor, I have to do a full reboot of the phone.
Others have complained about this too, but, the alarm volume should be separated from the phone's media volume. That's a rather small complaint compared to how often my sensor loses signal when my phone is at most 1,5 meters away from me at all times. Overall it's not a pleasant experience compared to the Libre 2, which had it's faults, but it was reliable at least.
Seems like the sensor is losing connection quite often. Even with background activity allowed and no power savings for the app. of course the app also drains the battery... But the worst part is the alarms! The sensor connection lost alarm activates even when it is switched off in the app settings! I switched off all alarms, the phone is in vibration mode and it still makes a lot of very loud noise! Why? Unacceptable!
I really don't understand how Abbott took away one of the most useful options, to personalize the sound and behaviour in the alarm options. Due to professional concerns, I cannot have loud sounds disturb me at random times at work. The entire functionality of the alarms, one of the main reasons to switch to Freestyle in the first place, has now become useless to me.
Error communicating with server. Turning my VPN on fixed it. I'm not even gonna mention all the other issues that haven't been fixed for years.
I'm leaving this comment as others also have issues with Alarm sounds and seems that the company has no interest in fixing it. All Samsung phone have an app called Sound Assistant (download at the Galaxy Store) which blocks the sounds of specific apps. And with that it is possible to remove all the sounds (or reduce volume) from the FreeStyle leaving the alarm only to vibrate. (for other brands there may be other alternatives, but the idea is the same)
This app spends more time crashing than running. When I open it, it will show me my glucose level, but will crash after a few seconds and restart several times before it goes back to running normally. And there's still no way to adjust the absolutely ear-splitting alarm volume, which makes it essentially unusable without workarounds for anyone who works in shared office spaces or customer-facing roles. People rely on this app for critical health support. It's honestly appalling how bad it is.
It was working fine. Then, I'm not getting alarms' notifications when my values are out of range. Suddenly, I get several alarms at once, although the current value is OK. I called the team, and no one can help in English! They said that I have to bring someone who speaks German, so they can translate. Really!!!!
(EDIT mar 2024) Despite not using it for months, suddenly the app wakes up and keeps prompting a "cannot connect device" popup and it's impossible to dismiss it. (OLD)The mobile app is poorly designed, especially navigation, visual design, and lack of export options (only png, you are kidding me?!). For that, the desktop app Libreview is luckily available. Overall UX is frustrating.
Alarm sound impossible to switch off. One star rating will be reviewed once alarms can be adjusted to vibration only. Update 19.12.2022: I've managed to silence the alarms via an external app, so that's roughly ok. But... the battery drain is horrible. Up to 25% in one day from morning till evening (about 17-18 hours). Libre 2 app used to drain 2-4%. Libre 3 also does this, but only when blocked via battery options. This is a serious mess. Somebody needs to wake up.
The sounds for high and low sugar are awfull. The fact that it's not possible to change the sound, volume makes the whole point of the app unusable. Also no idea why I can't add a note to a log later on (which was possible with libre2). Kind of sad cause I was looking forward to using libre3 but will have to go back to libre2 cause it's better for managing sugars
There are often signal loses, especially when the glucose changes are quick- for example, when it falls down, the signal is lost for a while. The app crashed and requires to re-register and to re-scan the sensor ,which was not possible - it was stucked at the phase"scan the new sensor ". It wasn't working till we didn't de-install and re-install the app.The app is very slow too.Be aware, that you should register yourself twice- at the app and on their site, otherwise its not possible to order
It's very disappointing that this app fails to work on devices like the Galaxy S24. This app is meant to provide peace of mind for people with Diabetes like myself and yet, 3 or so years after the market release of the Freestyle Libre 3, this product continues to be riddled with issues. This is supposed to be a mature product that should function without any issues. Please ensure that your glucose monitoring devices can do what they were designed for, especially on a widely used phone.
I have the same issue as many people here, the sound volume of an alarm is completely connected to the sound volume of my phone. I am kindly asking, do you have any plans to manage this feature request since lot of people have the same or similar issue to use this product further? The easiest way to handle this problem would be that the alarm sound starts to increase over some period of time, like 30 secs. This could be at least something for the beginning.
The app keeps showing the signal loss alarm, and it can't get any glucose values, because it crashes every minute! It worked perfectly until about two weeks ago, and now I have so many problems with it, that the whole CGM thing is basically useless. I tried changing the sensor, reinstalling the app, nothing worked.
It works ok, but the battery drain has heavily increased in the last few months where after going to bed with a fully charged phone, I wake up the next day with the phone sitting at between 35 to 40% battery. During the day, I can almost watch the battery slowly tick down, just doing nothing on my desk. I have no idea what happened in the recent updates, but this is really unacceptable to need to top off my phone more frequently than before.
I can not imagine my life without sensor and of course, this app. The only reason why I'm selecting 4/5 star is the sound of the alarm! Please make some modification and then upgrade it with the possibility to change the sound on Samsung smart-phone! Honestly it drives me crazy and due to professionaly reasons, I have to stop them. Thanks in advance for your support!
