Well, it's alright... It definitely works as a gallery, but the popup ads are quite annoying. It's one thing to have a small section on the bottom for ads, but I often get a full-screen ad I have to wait a bit to skip in order to see and use the gallery. It is incredibly inconvenient for a gallery app and is becoming quite the nuisance, to the point I would rather just.... Not have a gallery app at all. Unfortunate that my phone doesn't have one by default like it should.
I've been using this app for several months & haven't had any issues. The ads are few and non-intrusive. After a recent update I now have duplicate folders of the exact same photos/folders. When I try to move one folder to combine with the other it, won't work and it leaves the folders exactly as they were. ?? Also if I take some pictures it puts it in the camera folder. If I take more pictures 10 minutes later it creates another folder. I'll end with a lot of "camera" folders instead of 1! ?
The gallery itself has been pretty good and I like how it separates the videos and photos into tabs. However, here recently the ads have been the type of ads you can't just close, as they block the entire screen and you have to close the app and reopen to be able to view your stuff. Ads are fine for free stuff but those type of ads are unacceptable.
I've had it for several months and mostly like it. The folder feature is plus, but I wish you could make sub-folders because the folders add up! Also, I don't like the full-screen ad-takeover every time I open it! Convince me it's worth paying to lose that! All in all, very good, but if another comes along with more PC-like folder ability for organization, I can't promise not to "stray"!

I'm enjoying the app, but for one thing. When I take a picture and it opens in Gallery, it has no option right there to delete, or scroll through the pictures I've just taken. I have to go out to re-enter the app. That's extra steps I don't want to take. I can share from that first open screen, but mostly I want to delete. Other than that, I like how I can personalize the theme, and it organizes photos well. Thank you!
Since other Gallery is forcing me to pay, I switched to this app. Very nice! All my pics and videos automatically transferred; didn't lose anything. Also like the features to enhance videos. Thank you! Update 6/23: The ads are very annoying and intrusive. I'm okay with an ad ribbon at the bottom of the screen, but full-page ads and videos are really irritating.
If you have a moto g stylus, this app is a must. Motorola did away with any gallery app and just uses Google photos now, which is confusing and I couldn't find my pictures because they weren't organized like I'm used to. But I downloaded this app and now I can navigate my photos with ease. It automatically categorized them for me and I'm sure I have the option to create more albums if needed. I almost returned my phone because of the lack of a gallery! But this saved it.
It was fine for a while, and it was the best I could find, but for some reason it completely stopped working the other day. Every time I try opening it, it just closes. If it weren't for that, it would be a solid five stars imo. Edit: It has somehow gotten worse. The crashes stopped, but now the ads are getting excessive. I know I shouldn't expect any less from a free app, but the ads keep opening random articles on my browser.
Has so many ads, and they're difficult to deal with, you can't just close the ad, hitting the x will still direct you to the ads page, or refresh the ad several times before actually closing. I frequently will close the entire app to get back to my folders because it's easier than backing out of an image. Otherwise the organization is nice and works well. You can set the folder image and label it.
This gallery app is better than any other one on here. Only one thing that is really annoying that keeps it from being a 5: sometimes when you try to move a few pics from one folder to another, it'll move them, but still keep them in the folder you're trying to move them from. So, it's more like copying them even though you pressed move. Won't be that big of an issue if you aren't trying to move pics/vids a lot, but I am. Also the ads are so rare, I forget this app even has them.
Terrible app. I have been using it for over a year and it was ok, with adds. Recently though, it has gotten invasive with adds and locks the screen to force you to watch two entire adds before you can go back to your photos. The worst part has been recently it has been sending me out of the app to a third party site claiming that I won something on Amazon. Clearly a scam. At first I thought this was a problem in my end, but it happened over 4 times, without me clicking anything. Do not use.
this app is just what i was looking for to organize my photos. easy to create new albums, edit, & move pics between folders. there's a ton of options for specialization/editing pics. there's also an easy to use slideshow for displaying pics. you can customize any pics for an easy wallpaper for your phone. best of all if you like this app and want to go ad free, it's a very small one-time purchase. it's nice to have an app these days which doesn't require a constant, monthly subscription payment.
Simplicity and usability is key here! This gallery app does what it's supposed to do, without being unnecessarily bloated or unintuitive. The ads are not intrusive, nor are you forced to view them each time you open the gallery. You may find some basic quality-of-life features here, but nothing elaborate (like system-level folder locking, gif maker, or photo editing tools). I'm fine with this simple approach. This is probably the best balance you're going to get, for a free, ad-based app.
The app is really good almost perfect the only reasons I'm not giving it 5 stars is because its missing (or haven't found a way to use them) some features. Like when I select an image I would like to have an option to select all so that I dont have to select the photos one by one to move them to another folder or delete them. Sometimes I move 100 photos and it's annoying going one by one. The annoyance to have to grant access every time I move or delete a photo. Other than that its great.
TERRIBLE!!! It straight up DELETED a HUGE folder of pictures, some of which were SUPER important. Then today after I go back in, there's random photos and videos missing. I had them all in specific folders, and I KNOW they were there last night. Now they've just vanished. I have to go through a TON of trouble trying to recover all of what this app "lost", and who knows if I'll actually be able to get them back. I'm honestly really angry. I just wanted to look at my photos, not lose them all!
Amazing. All I needed to complete my Pixel. I'd been putting up with the featureless "Files" app for too long, but after having some issues with it finally decided to get this. This is all I ever needed- a nice layout, a photo editor, and (hopefully) a favorites folder that won't empty itself (thanks Google!). The ads aren't really that intrusive, just a banner on the bottom. I'm probably going to pay the $6 to get rid of them forever though. Thank you so much for this app.
A photo gallery should not have ads. It has good quality of life features, album creation and the like, but this gallery app has other, very basic issues. For example, if you've downloaded an image with a transparent background, you will see the original image copied in the background. This is most likely a byproduct of the app makers trying to take shortcuts (you wouldn't be able to tell in pictures that aren't see-through), which is ridiculous, considering the age of the application.
The few low ratings may be a result of user inexperience. I've seen no ads at all during two solid hours' usage, spent organizing hundreds of pics into 32 new folders with absolutely no trouble with speed or lost pics. You can select multiple pictures to delete or move. Google Photos is much harder to use. I'll use Gallery awhile longer and if I find no problems, I'll buy. App is professionally done; kudos. It's almost exactly what I'd try to produce for myself if I really wanted to code it.
Forced ads ruin the user experience with this app. We understand that ads are necessary but the placement is terrible. Right in the middle of a task, while using the app, full screen ads pop up. They basically force your browser to open random links associated with those ads. That tactic doesn't make me want to purchase this app, it makes me want to purchase a completely different app. Otherwise, it's a pretty good app.
I'm enjoying the app, I like it separates into folders. I'm not sure why the pixel gave me no option to organize images, but this does the trick. I did pay for the premium version, simply because it did everything I wanted it to do, & nothing I didn't. I can support the devs one of two ways, dealing with ads or giving them $6. I've used this for two phones now, it's definitely been worth the $6.
