Genesis Digital Key

Reached out to support and after they either couldn't figure out the issue or just got tired after only 3 emails in total, total silence. App thinks my phone is rooted and wouldn't work. It's not. Used another phone and it worked. Same android version and manufacturer. I inquired about status and have been ignored. If there is no solution or a bug, just let me know, give a little guidance, don't ignore me. POOR SUPPORT.

Totally and completely useless app. Cannot even sign into the app because it can't detect the network. Tried on wifi running at 800 Mbs and mobile 5G network, both with full signal strength. This is the only app that can't connect. Deserves zero stars!! Uninstalled and tried again. Same result. Now I give it negative 5 stars for wasting time out of my short life.

too many steps to activate the key. the digital key and the main Genesis app should be more integrated. you all have them like 2 completely different apps which is fairly inconvenient. there should be a way to integrate and access by a pin if security is the concern.

the digital key app works way better and faster than the Genesis App. it almost seem like a better experience to use the web browser than the app! please Genesis, catch up to the Lexus app asap. It would be great to disable certain door notifications each time it's opened, when the car is left unlocked or after a specified period of incremental time that the user can control. The overall app experience is just not fluid and it's not like these updates are impossible, not as customer intuitive.

I would love to try it. But apparently buying a 2.5 L Advanced trim package for around $60,000 is not a good enough car for Hyundai to put the digital key option on. The salesman told us we can do it but when we called they said my car was not equipped with digital key. Nor heads up display which my entry level Kona has. Pretty disappointing

Just bought my GV70 Electrified 2 weeks ago, and I set up the digital key tonight. The app kept saying it failed, so I tried like 20 times deleting and starting over. Then I decided to just test it out even though the app said it failed. Everything worked. So, even if you get a failure, test it out and see if it works before getting aggravated like I did. I still gave it 5 stars because if I wasn't drunk and high, I probably would have achieved success on one of my first few tries.

Third review. Upgrading back from 2 to 3 stars. App itself is fine. It is a complex system. And this system was broken for me from July 2024 whe app was updated till September 15th when i got new firmware update in the car. I could open, close etc. but i could not start the engine. Support had no clue. E-mails had no answers. They probably knew and were working on fixes. It works now. Useful. I like it. But several times you will use Uber or someone to help with keys.

Doesn't work at all any more. Uninstalled/reinstalled. Still doesn't work to unlock the car. Starts it nut that doesn't do much good if you can't unlock it. A little undependable. Unlocking the car with my Pixel doesn't work a lot. Downgraded to two stars due to the poor dependability.

Useful if you misplace key fob, but not a substitute for BlueLink Genesis Intelligent Assist. Digital Key is without intervention, there is no customer service. It makes smartphone a fob. BlueLink is better, does everything Digital Key does AND more, it provides extraordinary services and customer service, though it has its faults. Do not confuse with CARD KEY! CARD KEY, size of credit card, is great to carry in wallet for emergencies.

App freezes a lot. Most "advantages" in the app can't be used. App key should be able to be used at any relative distance to the car. Starting the car from the key should not require a mathematical equation of distance. Good for ppl who lose their physical keys but a DEFINITE nuisance.

The app doesn't work well at all. You got to be very close to your vehicle for it to connect, and it takes forever to connect. I end up standing at my vehicle for a while for it to connect so that I can unlock the door. App needs major improvements!

buggy.... ive only had the app a few days and it keeps closing... I cross my fingers ever time I try to start my vehicle hoping it starts because this app seems extremely unreliable.. additionally, i was only able to lock/unlock my doors once utilizing the option to tap the phone on the doors. ive never been able to use the in app commands to lock/unlock. very close to useless.

Worst app ever..... I am uninstalling it. Wants permissions to everything on your phone... and if you don't just keeps you in a big merry go round loop. I even tried enabling everything and still big heap of doo doo... I will never use this maybe that is what they want a seriously ticked off customer that will never buy this car again what a shame. I will find a car that actually has remote start on the fob... no need to be that nosy about my information.

This is the worst app. It doesn't connect to the car. It constantly says there is poor internet and cannot connect. The car never recognizes my smart keys and always makes me grab the physical key. It's crazy how much more convenient my tesla is than this.

It has been a very difficult process setting this up on my new to G70. Between this app and the MyGenesis site, it took several days to add my vehicle, set up a key, and share one with my wife. Lots of failed attempts. Finally got it all set up - The app displays terribly on my Galaxy S23 - the UX is crude, buttons and text overlap, and its difficult to read. Functionality seems to work, but it is so buggy, I'm hesitant to rely on this app alone. I expect a much better experience.

This app leaves much to be desired. It works, but it's a bit clunky. It takes a while to load so it's just faster to use my key card, and if course even faster to just use the fob. But it can be helpful on occasion. Just not good enough for regular use.

This app is a joke. . try to add a new driver their verification code refuses to work. And in what world is this a replacement for a key. With a key in my pocket I can open the doors by touching the door handle. If I have my phone in my hand I can do the same thing but why would I want my phone in my hand to open my car? Then I need to put it in a special place to allow the car to start??? Oh you want to add a spouse? You'll have to redo through this process yearly. Far from luxury!

there's no point in having a digital key app when you have to carry the actual physical key with you or take your phone off from the case and place it on the wireless charger for it to work this is nonsense

Useless app, why does it need Internet to work? Why can't it use nfc?. Depict that if I convince myself that internet is needed then why does it need from mobile data? when I try to use in garage, I get wifi but app won't work till I turn on mobile data. Let's me again agree to that fact that it need mobile data, then why does it need mobile data to be ON in BOTH sim cards? In my pixel 5 only one sim can have internet ON, now this app won't turn on by saying "turn Mobile data", why ?

Once opened the app can't be closed. It keeps displaying in my phone header so I assume it is sucking battery. I have to reboot the phone to exit. Please, give an option to exit once I'm done using the key.
