Update: My account was dormant, hence the issues I was having logging in (issue now resolved). I've only increased to 3 stars because error checking because the lack of error handling resulted in poor user experience. Aside from the initial login issues, the application seems okay. It certainly meets the requirement of posting a score. Can't get past accepting the terms and conditions. Click Agree and Continue, nothing happens. same behavior on the website.

It is nice to have but not user friendly at all. If you tilt your phone to see your scorecard the app crashes. If you click '2025 Rewind' it shows year 2024 data. It calculates handicap, and I can use it to keep score, and it has GPS for most courses. It is very useful, just too buggy. For what I pay annually to track my handicap I expect a better performing app.

Barey okay. Apart from tracking scores and maintaining an HI database, the free version's functionality does not compare with other GPS apps. I frequently experience issues switching between GPS and scoring modes. Free version only provides distance to center of green. The paid version is expensive for the added functionality.

Great during posting season but sucks during the offseason because you can't use it for scoring. you want to charge extra for the features, but this app doesn't work for me for 5 months out of the year where I live. this is a simple fix, make it so you can keep score in the app but during the offseason it doesn't post to your handicap.

It was working fine and now it won't let you post scores, or do anything, as soon as you select the golf course and how you want to enter the score it takes you back to golf course selection.

this app is terrible. it blocks my access to my handicap and I can't post any scores. I don't want this new program. l even tried to down load and was impossible. when I open the app to post it immediately went to that program.

Restarts EVERY time I try to keep score for a group. Doesn't matter if I shut it down doesn't matter if I restart the phone.

UPDATE: 10/19/25; GPS subscription was purchased but the GPS function hasn't worked for weeks. What did I pay for here? Fix this nonsense or get a refund to me. Extremely handy and useful app for tracking handicap, posting scores and calculating playing handicap on the go. No golfer with a GHIN index should be without this app.

Although the GHIN app works fine on my Pixel 10 Pro phone there is still a hangup to sync the Pixel 4 watch. Is it the USGA, the GHIN app itself or the Android software that prevents its use. I dropped the iPhone and many are flocking to Google Pixel products. Whoever heads up these applications need to think hard about the audience they are missing..

on android, after tapping the right arrow on the "helpful tips" shown after you load a course, the screen is unresponsive. Can't tap the next button to move to 2nd hole, can't tap any button.

Horrible. The website won't do anything after clicking the post score button half the time. The app locks up ( just shows spinning icon ) after changing golfers. If I get it to change then after clicking the post score button on the homepage it goes to a blank white page and does nothing. Closing the app and reopening won't fix it. The search for courses to enter isn't very good. I.e. it darn near has to be perfect to find the course. Somehow the recently played course list says none...

Overall functionality is fine. The problem I have is if you have a poor data connection, good luck because the app doesn't work at all. If you post your score for a certain hole, and then attempt to go back to GPS mode, the course has to download again. Why can't the course just download and be stored in the background?? Where my home course is located, I have a poor data connection. So I can't reload the golf course. Because of this, the app's GPS function becomes essentially useless.

Although the intent of this app is great, the course GPS is sketchy and only works at approximately 75% of the courses you play. Its frustrating to get to a course that does not provide golf cart GPS and I try to use this app and it doesn't always work.

Lately, mid round, the GPS stops working, and I can only input scores. I get out of the app and back in to no avail. Yesterday, I even rebooted my phone with no success in restarting the GPS portion of the app. In the meantime, I can switch over to a bushnell golf GPS app, and it's working fine. So I know it's not my phone. I'm paying the $40 a year for green reading, and when the app stops working mid-round, I'm not getting what I paid for. I expect better quality from a GHIN app!

App automatically updated on my Android phone (Motorola) on 1/6/2020. Entered GHIN and last name, scrolled through the info pages, then the app sent an error message and went blank. Have uninstalled and reinstalled the app multiple times with the same negative result. No way to even report the problem. App has gone overnight from being an important golf companion (I play 250+ rounds a year) to being TOTALLY WORTHLESS. What a shame!

Update: It gave me errors everytime I loaded it ... I have a Samsung Galaxy S7. After reading a few reviews I found a way to make it work... Install the app, before opening it go to your settings / apps and ensure you give the GHIN app all permissions, then go to the app, log in but leave off all zeros from the front of your GHIN #; for example mine started 00... I did not put the zeros in. It allowed me to log in and now it works fine.

It would say "gps not available", so I contacted customer service and they promptly replied with a fix. I appreciated that. It worked. My hope was to use it for gps, scoring, and posting scores so that I could do everything in one app with the added benefit of having hole scores automatically adjusted for handicap. However, I found the gps and scoring much less user friendly than the 18 Birdies app. So, I will continue to use 18 Birdies for gps and scoring and this app for posting. Oh well.

I pay for the advanced features. The GPS charts are fairly accurate, especially on approach shots. Some of the traps and trees are off by 5yds. If you're going to play in a serious match, playing a practice round and walking off or shooting the yardage would be much more accurate. This is especially true if you need accurate cover distances. The Green maps are helpful if you like that kind of thing. Submitting your scores is a breeze. I'd say this is a must-have app and you will enjoy it!

Absolutely fine for posting scores. I wish the gps portion of the app were compatible with Android/Samsung watches. I use another app with that support to keep score during the round and then manually input the statistics into ghin separately. Would love to use the same app but having to pull my phone out of my pocket for every shot just slows play down too much.

This app continues to disappoint. Constant crashing at different points in the app, issues where the map will just stop loading in the middle of a round, no Samsung watch support. Also would make a ton of sense if I could manually update the average yardage of each club in my profile. The fact that I have to pay the yearly USGA membership fee to even use this app makes the poor performance even more frustrating. Running this on a Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra for reference.
