I did a lot of research on "kids debit cards" before choosing gohenry. It costs a little more than some of the others, but I liked the features of gohenry better. I like that I can set up tasks, and now the kids are in complete control of how much money they receive each week. We're brand new and haven't received our cards yet, but I foresee no issues there and am excited they can manage their own money. Looking forward to being able to assign daily tasks!

I've only been using the app for a week now and so far I love it. My kids made they first in store purchase with the cards it was easy and they enjoy learning how to use a debit card. I love how you can set up weekly allowances also being able to share a gift link where friends and relatives get a link to send a gift right to the kids card which was perfect for Christmas this year. The fee of 9.98 isn't bad although that's 119 dollars a year it's reasonable considering everything you get.
I recently received an email from GoHenry, stating that the monthly fee will go up to $9.98 in December (up from $3.99). The justification for the increase was "Added features". Well, I think your users should have the option to choose whether or not they have a need for these features. There should be different packages to choose from. For example Basic, vs Premium/upgraded. I now need to find other options outside of GoHenry.
This app is great! It's easy for both me and my child to use, and being able to customize the card was such an awesome feature! I have one suggestion that would be great to possibly see in future updates: if there was a way to possibly add funds besides the parent accounts. I recently had an issue with the accounts that I usually add funds with. If I could've used an outside source to add money to the card (an atm, a banking center, etc) it would've been a tremendous help.
I would like to give this a five star but don't like not having tracking info for card. Card has a fake looking master card symbol on it. Also found that you can't set tasks daily or to even pay out when complete. Payouts gave to be set weekly and twice in a row now I have set the date to be paid and it never gets paid even though there is plenty of money in the parent account.
Terrible because it will decline at the most inopportune time. Send you kid to the store to get something and end up having to go yourself because it declines. Happened today saying he didn't have the money on there. He had way more than the transaction was. Terrible and I will be finding another way to do this. Don't waste your time or $$$ because it is expensive!
I have used this app for some time now. It allows my children to be independant spenders without having to carry cash. What I love the most is how fast and efficient it is to send money when it's needed while I'm on the road. Great app! No issues. 4 starred bc I couldn't get the funds back to my account when I realized that the cards were lost.🙄
Monies randomly disappearing from the account... My daughter wanted to purchase lunch in school and asked for £5. I transferred it over from my parent account. Her card was declined. Checking her balance it was £0. I thought its a mistake and transferred another £5 over. It is showing up on her balance, but 20 min later her card decline, showing £0 amount. Did another test transfer with ~ £1.49 and a few minutes later that also disappeared, showint £0 balance.
I would appreciate it if in the next update you would improve the writing of the name on the card and the card number because the name is erased and the card number is just like if it were just a simple paint, please print the numbers on the card so that they are not erased by touching, if we still pay for the membership per month, it should be a quality card. The details on the card are erased. Back with 5 Stars when the quality of the card will be improved.
Excessively expensive fees unless you are a millionaire and paying your kid hundreds a week! In reply to their comment... I give my 9 year old £20 a month. This costs either £3.99 for basic (+ 50p for each deposit), £5.99 for premium or £9.99 for max. Thats like 20% - 50% more money I could be paying directly to my son instead of on fees. So for this to be considered affordable and good value, you need to be paying your kid a few hundo a month. Apparantly Monzo are good for kids and free.
Financial literacy is important for children to learn from an early age but just like every where else, you're charging for this information too when not everyone is financially able to do so. It's just information so parents can decide whether an option is for their family or not. Hopefully I can find another app my child can use. 20.12.2025 I definitely do not recommend. my daughter learns more about financial literacy elsewhere than Go Henry. There is a fee for everything you do/want to do.
This is a great app to teach your kids about money. There are missions teaching about money safety, savings and so much more that your child can do to earn money. I would recommend this app to anyone who wants their kid to learn about money and have a debit card.😊
I have requested to dispute fraudulant charges on my daughter's account. They are unfamiliar and attempting to draft funds daily. I have not received any instructions or confirmation that my request is even being investigated.
the card won't work for a lot of online game purchases and to get the money out you have to take cash, otherwise pay £5 to transfer out. just very inconvenient
I cannot put my gohenry card on Google wallet for some reason and I can't even transfer money to friends without a gohenry app. it's just annoying how much more free you can be with a revolut card but I'm stuck with gohenry for now. I know you can't fix any of this so it's just annoying how I'm stuck with gohenry
Great app to teach little ones the principles of money, spending and saving. A bit clunky for blended families and could be improved further to support multiple parents in single account and manging of junior isa
Really poor app. Won't accept password despite just being reset. Links within app just crash out. Don't bother.
I keep seeing people say too expensive. its not that bad. do the Acorns Gold for 12$ a month. (Acorns Early) you get easy money tools for your kids. IRA, investments with roundup etc. Well worth it for your kids futures.
I loved this app before Acorns purchased, now it's infuriating. There are restrictions on the amount I can immediately transfer to my parent wallet and a delay in posting, therefore no funds can be added to my daughter's card. On two occasions she was out of town on birthday trips with friends and I attempted a $200 transfer and it permitted but was a 3 day wait, it told me AFTER transfer request, then months later a $100 transfer to parent wallet, again a 3 day wait, only telling me AFTER.
I really love go Henry I find it really useful to use. its easier to manage money however its abit frustrating that it doesnt work on Google pay. it says go Henry isn't eligible for it which is abit annoying I would have preferred to also be able to pay contact less from my phone just like an apple user. please make it so that I can use it on Google pay aswell. but other than that its an amazing app.
