I've been using Goodrec to find and join local soccer games, and it's been amazing! The app makes it super easy to connect with other players nearby, set up matches, and keep track of upcoming games. The community is friendly and welcoming, and I've met great people to play with. If you want a reliable way to stay active and play more soccer, this app is perfect. Highly recommend!

Updated 10/7/25: still 1 star -- if you don't play soccer, you're going to have a bad experience. The volleyball games are really mismanaged, they double book, triple book locations, and they cancel 30 minutes AFTER the game started. You lose commute time and money. I've been a fan for a while, but I do not recommend it at the moment.

it worked for 2 weeks but now it constantly crashes when i select certain pick-up games. the ui could also use some improvement. i think it would make more sense to be able to select the city + sport in the pick-up games page instead of settings. and the competitions should be able to be filtered by city + sport. it would be nice to filter the pick-up games by level, location, gender. i would like to be able to customize my profile picture. prices are a bit high but ok. at least it's legit.

Great idea but poor app execution. I'm very thankful to have a way to find out about games happening near me - that part is great. But it feels like a half completed software. For example, after joining a game, there is no section in the app where you can go and see which upcoming games you signed up for or which games you signed up for in the past. And if you sign up for a game that later gets canceled, you don't receive an email or any notification about the fact that it was canceled.

I had the app in the past. I don't remember exactly if I deleted my profile or maybe I was inactive and they just deleted it on their own. But now I can't login or create a new account. I click ' I forgot password' so I can reset, it says the account linked to my email doesn't exist. I try to create a new account, they use your number, it says my number is linked already to different account. I cant get in at all.

GoodRec is hands down the best app for anyone who loves staying active and trying different sports. I've used it to find pickup soccer games, try out basketball courts, and even join a local volleyball group. It makes it super easy to connect with others who share the same passion for playing, not just watching. Whether you're competitive or just looking to have fun, this app brings the good vibes and keeps you moving. Can't get enough of it!

They raised prices for winter (it's true you need to pay more during winter to rent fields), but they raised prices before all facilities actually raised theirs. Add to that they are not really adding any features, many feel like it's a rip-off now Apart from that the quality of games varies a lot. If you're a good player, be prepared to have some truly awful matches. Occasionally you'll be in a good game, but most of them will be unsatisfying. Try to play with people you recognize in the app

GoodRec doesn't seem to have things very figured out. They have fake signups that make it look like it will be a full game and then they "cancel" last minute. Additionally it seems like they will take anyone as a host. Hosts seem to be able to bring friends and let them play for free which can increase the players reducing paying members playing time. Even with proof of a host messaging completely unacceptable things to a player the company did nothing. Definitely wouldn't recommend.

The just play app was much better. I've seen games cancelled on sunday 3 times in a row. The people who run this app are deceiving and dishonest, adding a bunch of random players (as a way of making lists seem full) is not very professional and how you earn honest people's hard earned money... it's clear that they ONLY care about money. First of all they charge way too much for 1 hr games (players always show up late, teams are unbalanced, we've been yelled at and kicked off the field after 1hr!

GoodRec (Just play) used to be great, but since last year they are adding more and more fake signups to make the games look fuller. The stood things is that games that used to be full they week are now getting cancelled last minute every week because they keep adding a bunch of fake signups, taking the spots real people would normally take, and removing them 3-4h before game time. It has also become a lot more expensive. Until they stop this strategy, Meetup and other alternative are better.

SCAM ALERT!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I signed up for a game and had my spot confirmed. Just before the match, I checked the app and saw I was removed. The host changed, no notice given. Support only offered credits, not a refund. I had to argue to even get my money back — still waiting. Be careful using this app, they can kick you out last minute and make refunds difficult.

I joined this app like a month ago and I've already been cancelled on last minute 3 times while at the location. They are so unorganized. Also, one time the support staff changed my game location and time to another one the day of the game without consulting me first lol apparently now they can pick and choose where they want you to go play. I'm done using this app and I don't recommend it to anyone.

The best app to find pick up soccer games. Consistently has the most pick up games and fields. The app is straightforward and intuitive to use. You can also reserve spots for a friend as well, super clutch

Edit 10/06/2025: knocking down a star since the prices went up crazy suddenly without any QoL improvements. app bugs/ lack of features on Android still haven't been fully addressed. original: App is decent though inconsistent. Need to be able to upload profile pic. stats are not accurate. interface is clunky on android and app feels slow. canceling a game shouldn't be a burden. I don't care for credit so much.

Can't change my profile picture for some reason. It's all just blank. Also if you don't put in a review for a game when it pops up, you don't seem to be able to go back and give feedback. Same thing with messages it sends you about open slots/promotions Service is cool but the app is bad.

Don't like that you can't upload your own photo for your profile. Also, if you accidentally log out and forgot your password, there's no reset option and you can't just sign up again, because it rememebers your email. Had to uninstall and reinstall to get back in, but still don't know what my password is. Needs a reset link, for sure.

Would not recommend. They cancel games until after they are supposed to start because there's not enough players. They don't communicate anything and their customer service is not great. I would recommend using plei if you are using it for pickup soccer since it's a much better more consistent app.

App is bugged. Nothing loads, and when I try and scroll, it's choppy like it loads super slowly. When I try and click on leagues and go to leagues like the Coed tab, it does the loading symbol for about 20 secs then the app completely closes on its own. So completely unusable atm. Was looking forward to finding pickup games but can't with how the app is.

The app works to some degree as long as you don't need to speak to someone or have a problem. Not got an issue with getting credit instead of refund but last time game apparently went ahead with just 2 of us playing and host hasn't cancelled game for my credit refund so I'm down £7 now. The App needs a much improved customer care and the amount you pay is obviously an insemtive to hosts,but the system is open to dishonesty. Before signing up to a game, make sure the app is well used in the area.

The football games are overpriced. The venue itself charges half of what Goodrec charges. The app used to be good when they first began with lower rates. But now a player pays nearly €10 a game ( 11 players pay €10 and the host plays for free). Overall Goodrec earns nearly €110 and books the pitches at only €45. They don't even provide the football or bibs. Absolute scam!
