Google Meet

Ever since they changed to the new style of meet calls, I can't make outgoing calls, but incoming calls work fine. I can clear app data and cache and get the old one back for one call and that still works. Whatever they did to meet, it's not working for me. A video calling app that doesn't make calls is pretty useless. Edit: the supplied help article isn't relevant to my issue, and I've been trying to get help from the help and feedback forum, they've tried to help but not working yet.

this "upgrade" is anything but. i cant make or complete calls( either i get an error saying the person unavailable, or it just rings - come to find out the other party isn't even notified of the call), the effect filters and backgrounds have been removed, no more video messaging (text or video) and (going back to point 1) calls are not notifying to the caller. if it wasn't for the fact that have the calls tied to my nest mini i wouldn't even know i was getting a call. take us back to DUO

Completely broken. After months of missing calls (no ringing), the app no longer functions at all for video or voice calls. When calling people with the app, it says I am calling someone who can't receive calls. Tried reinstalling, clearing cache, and restarting my phone and all have failed. I never leave reviews but this is horrible. Bring back Duo and separate it from Meet. If I could give zero stars I would. Time to use an alternative app

After having a Google pixel for a long time now, this switch to meet from duo is going to make me switch to apple products. I can't go to my texts with my wife anymore and just hit "video call" I have to go through this nonsense of sending links, yada yada. Unless I'm missing something, meet is updated on all of our phones, but the lack of being able to simply video call like FaceTime is a complete deal breaker. If this is a roll out issue, y'all better fix it quick.

Google meets has a lot of issues going on, from constantly missing calls and having massive delayed audio up to 21+ seconds. I can't even talk to my girlfriend real time due to stupid delayed audio, the video may be real time, but the audio isn't. Restarting the wifi, Restarting the phone, devices, and more doesn't work, I submitted feedback months ago and nothing is working, this is making me and my girlfriend crash out, this sucks. Fix your 2p2 servers!!!!

They should've kept the previous version of meet. The app shuts down in the middle of conversations. It recently cleared my whole contact and history list out of nowhere. I finally got my history back and now I'm unable to video call the regular contacts I call on a daily basis. I just resent a link for them to connect to my meet, let's hope it works. overall the app fell off completely. I find it better to use WhatsApp for my video calls instead of meet!

Can you guys create a safety feature so we can stop receiving random video chat requests from people we are not associated with? Multiple times, I have received calls from random email addresses, and it's highly unsettling. I use this app to video chat with long-distance family and friends, that's it. I don't want to receive calls from random people, and it's extremely ridiculous/tedious to block each person individually, when it could easily be prevented all together.

Buggy in almost every way. Does not respect Bluetooth headphones settings consistently. Video quality is very iffy. The worst interface of any video chat app. And the most annoying of all: I can't lock the screen in portrait mode! I use the facial recognition to avoid rotating unnecessarily, but it doesn't work when the camera is enabled for video chat. Please allow that option!

Update: still a 1 star program. With every release, new issues with very few old issues being fixed. decided to upgrade to a pixel 10 pro and what a mistake that has been. Calls on WiFi or 5G cannot stay connected for more than 30 seconds at a time. Never an issue with Duo but Meet has been a consistent disaster. This needs to become one of the many projects Google abandoned already.

I love using Google Meet. it's reliable for both voice calls and video calls. I use it for meetings, classes, coffee chats, etc. The app would be so much better if the host of a call could get a list of all people who joined the call at some point or the other (not just the people in the call at a particular time). It would be great for marking attendance at meetings and classes.

My last call was taken on my home wifi network (I've never changed the app settings and it's always connected to my wifi in the past), but that call was counted as data usage. The app did not notify me during the call that it had unsolicitedly changed from wifi to data connection. I've since disabled the app and will not use it, at least on my phone.

Can no longer enhance appearance when using app on android. The setting options are minimal. There are OTHER setting options when you're on a call which is extremely unhelpful if you want to have it set ahead of time. But regardless, the settings that are available when you're on a call do not include appearance enhancement. that whole option is gone. I'm not using your app anymore. I'll use another video chat app

This app sucks. It would've gotten a 5 star review if it didn't have so much lags and glitches. While I'm playing other games it kicks me out of the game, keeps hanging up on whoever I'm calling, audio messes up alot, it's just annoying. Please please PLEASE fix it ASAP! I don't have any other apps to FaceTime on and this is my only option. Please and thank you.

Seems to be a bug with the latest update. If you turn on the additional encryption setting and call a contact, they can not hear you until you turn it off. I tried, power cycling the phone. Force closing any and all apps accessing microphone, took-away and returned mic permissions to the meet app and none of these steps got the microphone working again until I went into my Meet app settings and turned off the additional encryption. It worked up until this current version though.

I used to love this app. However, since the new Meet, nothing works like it used to. All of a sudden, none of my video messages go through. I keep getting an error code telling me to try resending, but it never does. The Q&A was useless. Now that I've uninstalled and reinstalled the app, there's no option for video messages at all. I tried to re add the legacy features. None of the troubleshooting techniques work. I wish the ppl that decide to do all of these so-called upgrades would STOP!

Another issue found that has not been fixed in months. When you select your video camera to full screen in a call, you can not go back to the callers full screen. The only way I have been able to get the callers image full screen again is to end the call entirely and start a new call. This is EXTREMELY frustrating and makes the app very unpleasant to even use. This used to work fine for years and after an update about 4 months ago this issue came about. Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra.

With the new layouts, it keeps frustrating me. Firstly, why do I have to full-screen the video myself every so often? It's unnecessary, especially when screen sharing because I'd like to see what's on the screen being shared rather than having to full-screen it myself. Additionally, who's idea was it for the call to automatically hang up if you close the window from the app overview? It's annoying, especially if someone can't pick up the phone immediately.

Traveling from one geographical region to another the app needs to be updated in the new geographical location. But after returning back to original geographical region the meet direct calling option is not working, its forcing to create meeting link not showing call options. To make it working, needs to uninstall all the updates of the app and do update freshly. After that needs to set all the original settings. calling option bugs should be fixed.

This app has become very disappointing these days. When trying to make a voice call, it automatically switches to a video call. The app performance is very slow. There is no indication showing whether the other person is online or offline. The call keeps ringing regardless of whether the other person is online or offline, but in reality they do not receive any ring or notification when offline. Responses are sometimes delayed. Calls occasionally disconnect even when the end button is not pressed

This app is completely broken. Cannot make a video or audio call to other who have the app who I had no problem calling a month ago. Issues started back in January when I would miss calls because there was notification someone was calling me. It has only gotten worst. Bring duo back. I can't even uninstall the app can only disable it. Clearing cache doesn't work and neither does restarting my phone. If I could give zero stars I would.
