Feb 2026 review: Years later, I still use the rewards app, but they almost never ask opinions anymore, they mostly want me to upload receipts. ___So it's not as much fun as it used to be, It doesn't give me as much credit as it used to either. 2021 review: I love participating and earning . I just answer a few short questions, and earn Google Play credit. I can rent/buy movies and buy games and apps. I love music and I've even earned enough to purchase more than a few complete CD's.
It's a pretty good app and I use the money for in-app purchases on games that I play however I'm only giving it four stars because it goes through periods of time where it doesn't even pick up where I've been to ask me for receipts, sometimes it works every time I leave the house and sometimes it doesn't work for days like at the current moment. If they could fix those bugs I would definitely give it five stars
As of late it's been taking hours, sometimes days, for it to ask me for receipts for places I have visited. It used to ask me for this while I was in the middle of running errands. That aside, this is an easy way to get some extra Google Play credit on the side. In my case, I use this to help pay for YouTube Premium. I just hope they can fix the issues related to timing for requesting receipts and also consider upping the amount of the credit they give.
Lately there has been a pop up that says "qualify for more rewards - personalize surveys based on timeline" and no matter how many times I click "allow", nothing changes and I'm not getting any more surveys. I've used this app for years but this is a persistent issue now for weeks and it's getting irritating that I'm missing out on surveys because of this issue.
Decent app but it asks for receipts several days to even a week later. People don't hold all their receipts that long. It used to pop them up with in 24hrs now it's taking longer and longer and longer. My most recent ones it's asking for are from a trip that I took 6days before. I can't remember if I bought stuff sometimes or if I was actually at that store or if I still have the receipt. Also it almost never asks me questions anymore which is weird. Always got several a week previously.
It does add to your Google account, and like I saw someone else post, I use it for in-app purchases. It is adding some new updates today for me, so I hope this helps my issue. I have the exact location on and still keeps asking me about places I never went to or are not even located in my city...so I get 0.10$ added. If it actually asked me about a local place, which is rare lately, I'll get a better amount.
This rewards app was great at first. I was making about 22.00 a month from surveys which I could use to buy movies or pay towards streaming apps. But Google has been lowering the surveys lately and also, not asking for my shopping receipts as much. I also notice I now only receive about 10 or 11 cents per receipt when it was more than that last year. So it's been disappointing the past couple of months. I'm hoping the Google rewards app changes for the better soon.
I love using this app. they send me random surveys, multiple choice questions, ect..it's a very easy way to make a little money. you don't make a whole lot but it only takes a couple seconds to answer random things that they send you & depending on what it is, you can make anywhere in between .5-$2 at a time. that's just for example it's not exact numbers. it won't make you rich but it's an easy way to make money if you're on your phone anyway &it just pops up when it wants to ask your opinion.
As much as I love how much free Google credit I got from this app, it's been busted since over a month ago. Every time I load the app, it bugs me about completing my profile, which was already set up, and it acknowledges that... only to bother me about setting it up again and again. There has been at least one update to the app since this issue, and it resolved nothing. It also stopped giving me notifications for surveys and receipts despite them being available.
Excellent app to get free play credits (great for free YT premium). I get maybe one survey a day on avg, since I have location services on and visit places a lot. I do frequently get the exact same questions, and get $0.10-0.40/survey but normally on the lower end. UX could use help. Wish it saved survey responses and had option to go back to previous page. Text input fields need to be the expandable text box instead of one that scrolls infinitely to the right in one line.
If I might suggest? Update your app for the modern era . Places like Walmart especially if you have the app would rather send an electronic receipt than print one out. I literally had to print out an electronic receipt on my own printer tonight to upload it. I should be able to take a screenshot of the 'detailed receipt' (it's the same as the one printed from the store) and upload it into the app without wasting the paper.
free money. just weird. there is only one of two scenarios with this app when it asks you a question. it will either ask if you've been to a list of places that are vaguely around the areas you've been but you definitely didn't go to. or it will specifically ask if you've been to a certain place you definitely have been but the date options do not line up with when you were at said place. like are you tracking me or not?
It was a decent app, but credits expire after a year, and they do some shady stuff about it. I had my entire balance disappear overnight. Supposedly it expired. But I had just spent it down to less than a dollar 2 months ago, so how can any credits over a dollar be more than a year old? Fine, I went into my account and deleted all the survey data, my rewards account, and uninstalled it. Google used to be a decent company back in the day. Now they're just another megacorp preying on us.
Surveys only take a minute, if that. I've been using this app for a long time. It's easy free credit to buy apps and I still think you can put it towards subscriptions. I've paid for Youtube Premium quite a few times from this. Also in-app purchases when I use to play a lot of games. The more you go out and about, the more surveys you get. When it gives you a list of places you might of recently visited and you pick, "None of the above", you still get a little bit of $$$/credit. End of line...
I've been using Google rewards for several years now, I believe... I get receipt and survey requests often. They are really the highest paying for the time invested. They range from 20 cents to over a $1 per survey for just a few seconds. The receipt payout ranges from .10 to around .22 cents each. My other receipt apps I use only pay .10 cents and don't except food or gas receipts, whereas Google takes all receipts. I use Google play a lot so this comes in handy with my in app purchases.
What happened to over 10$ in reward money? I had 10 dollars and some change in my rewards, purchase a gift card with the points I had saved. I should have over 20$ in my account and now its only showing 10$. This app has not been working great for a while. I'll have money on my account and it still charges my credit card. Getting very very frustrated.
I can't wait until I make up my mind as to what to spend it on! About 6 bucks in a few weeks, assuming I missed one or two. It's a good way to buy that "pro" or "non-triall" version of whatever app you're using but can't make up your mind to spend the few dollars. Super simple few questions about a place visited or a search you performed. edit update: no longer using! will not be turning on personalized ads! I hate ads enough already! I foresee a future of me not having a smartphone anymore!
I used to be big on this app, but the question gap got annoying. it used to be simple questions and then it turns into receipt scanning questions only. I didn't mind that the rewards were low and I had about $20 on average. Now it's more of a hassle and it takes away earnings so after not buying and passing off the questions for so long I'm down to less than $2 so I don't really care. It's good if you don't have much but I'd rather not hold onto receipts for everything to make a couple cents.
This app used to be good to do a few questionnaires and be able to pay the couple dollars per month for Google One, but my balance keeps clearing for some reason and no one has gotten back to me. At one point I had over $22 and it just disappeared one day even though it wasn't set to expire for over a year. This is just their way of getting more out of you for free hoping that you don't notice. Don't trust this app.
says I have $6.22 in Google play balance from surveys, which took months (started in June and it's now mid october). I've never used any, been saving it. unfortunately, when I finally go to use it, the store things I only have $2.27 in my balance? I haven't done a survey in 2 days, and it was only $0.22, so it's not that the rewards are pending. kinda defeats the purpose of answering surveys when the rewards don't actually exist when you want to use them.
