The frustrating part is when pulling up the Google Search bar, it goes straight to AI assistant. Leading me to have to click over to the standard 'ALL' tab for the normal search bar. it is irritating. Im sure this can be adjusted in settings. Still, I just want the freaking search engine to default to the basic search bar. I will access AI assistant when I want to.
This is truly a great app. Informal, stories, news, and I can visit apps I can't download, and I love that they're adding AI! However, this breaks down quite a lot. The first time, they thought I was young when I wasn't, and now the excuse is just, 'Something went wrong', and I have to sign in again. It tells me to type in my password, and I do, but it doesn't work. I tried getting a verification code, but it takes 48 hours. Please look into this so I may FaceTime and watch YouTube again.
The Google Images app is a pretty well-rounded tool for quick visual discovery. While it doesn’t always hit the bullseye—occasionally serving up results that feel a bit off—it still manages to deliver a surprisingly decent experience overall. Whether you're hunting for inspiration, verifying a visual, or just satisfying curiosity, it does a good job of pulling together a wide range of images with speed and ease. It’s not perfect, but it’s reliable enough to keep in your digital toolkit
Very disappointing support experience. My account was hacked, and even though I have my phone number linked and tried account recovery multiple times, there is still no solution. The hacker added Family Link / parental controls, which completely locked me out, yet Google support was not able to help at all. Recovery options are very limited and mostly automated, with no real assistance for serious cases like this. I expected better protection and support for account security issues.
Still getting 1x2 widget wrong. How? Now the mic is gone? Would be 5 stars, but you condensed the widget icons when it's displayed as a 1x2 widget, whereas prior to the Android 15 update, the 1x2 widget had plenty of room to be able to tap the text entry area. As of right now, that space is nearly gone and almost impossible to tap on the first time. I have a before and after image I can show someone so they can fix it, if there were a place I could send it so someone can see the issue.
An OK app but not as good as you might expect from a big company like Google. The Collections component remains enduringly clunky..
Google is one of my favourite search engines out there! One feature that stood out for me is the Google lens, it helps me to search up images instead of searching for the prompt I want unlike other browsers. Something that can be improved for Google Lens is the results that come out, especially for "homework", the images that come doesn't help with the answer. Not an issue with AI overview as it is very accurate and tends to show up at the top of result list.
Google is constantly either lagging for me or shutting down on me completely. The random lagging/shutting down got so bad that the app was beginning to interfere with some of my other, unrelated apps, so apart from updating the app, which made no difference, I had no other choice but to put Google in deep sleep to see if doing so would make a difference, but it really hasn't. I don't know what the issue is, but something needs to be done because this is getting frustrating.
this rating is for Google Play store, because it won't let you give a rating for that. It's very poor for finding what you want. search for "parkopedia", And you can scroll through over 100 apps before you give up, and it cannot even find the only app that actually has parkopedia in the name. I was able to verify that app does exist, by finding it from a link from their website. If Google's search doesn't even work when you know the exact name of something, that's pathetic.
I searched up "12th generation intel" to see when the 12th gen Intel CPUs came out (they came out in 2021), and if I try to delete it, I get an error that says, "Couldn't remove item from history." Why?! My Internet speed is good!!! 😂🤣 I even to the webpage to delete the search term, and no luck. This app is so broken. And, on the saved images page, why would you get rid of the ability to search an image?! It was useful! Now, I have to manually find it myself, which takes a long time!! Fix it!
I've done everything from uninstalling updates, to restarting my phone, to clearing the cache, etc The app is always crashing whenever I try to use the search widget. Even the Google app won't work when I try. It just crashes after being open for 2 seconds. What the hell, Google? I literally can't do anything unless I open chrome and search in there. I may just download another search engine cuz this is stupid
Google search stopped working and app crashes everytime on my Samsung Android phone. Uninstalled and installed the app. Cleared the cache and search history. App not responding. Crashes everytime when hitting the search bar. Restarted the phone. Nothing worked. Cannot even type anything on that. What to do?Update:did multiple times these and search app started to work finally. Now it shows that there is an update for google app. I'm too scared to do the update if it'll stop working again.
Since the last update the voice commands for making calls and sending texts in the car have stopped working. Keep getting a message to say I need the latest update to do that but I have the latest update available on my playstore. Really inconvenient as I'm on the road a lot and can't do any calls or texts when I could a week ago.
Edit 3/11/25: More UI changes for the worse. Removed(?) the weather feature, "Sponsored" ads more often. General trash, would give it even fewer stars if possible. The UI changes made over the last couple days are dumb as hell. You get two to three results for a search, then it goes to completely unrelated videos, and then starts throwing other search results at you as an entire new blocks of screen space.
They just push updates that you don't want, and break your phone, with no way to undo them. My phone is now speaking the results aloud to me anytime I search for something. I've gone through all the settings to turn this off, and gone on various Google forums. No one has a solution for this.
Stop forcing AI integration into every facet of apps! It is making even the most basic Google search impossible! A search engine should not intuit which sources I might like to see based on my location or what it thinks my interests are! It should only give the most accurate sources for that query. I did the same search under two different user accounts and got different results!
I think that this app is very supportive and a brilliant search engine where you can surf through internet. Kinda.... well if I need to tell the truth, I think giving it 5 stars is just perfect as this tool helped me with my homeworks for years.. 😀 so good job 👏👍 only the thing that is to be added is an additional option of AI would be quite pretty good.. 😊😊 yeah that's it
Ever since the update, voice command via android auto does not work. Tells me I need to update the Google app in order for it to work, yet I have updated it. I've even uninstalled this, reinstalled it, and yet the problems still persist Oh and to top it off the email address on this page to report the problem comes back as not monitored and links me to their support page. Unable to find my issue via their support page.
Circle search functionality is broken. I used to use it for voice search all the time, now it defaults to searching what's on my screen. For example, if I'm on my home screen and I try to do a voice search for any question I have, it will first try to analyze my home screen. They've made it absolutely useless.
From my point of view, Google is an incredibly useful tool for finding information quickly and easily. I appreciate its powerful search engine, which helps me access a wide range of topics and resources. Google also offers helpful services like Google Maps, Google Drive, and Gmail, making everyday tasks more convenient. However, I have some concerns about privacy and how data is collected. Overall, I believe Google is an essential resource for learning and productivity, as long as users are awar
