This new update completely ruined the ease of using automation. It used to be a tab at the top of the home page. It is the most common thing I need to access in the app. It used to be just the press of one button to get to it. Now I have to click through 4 different screens & tabs to get there, and there's not even a way to add the automations to the shortcut screen! Ridiculous! Such a disappointment. WHY CAN'T YOU ADD AUTOMATIONS TO THE SHORTCUT PAGE?

App just doesn't work well since the last update. Slow response times, connecting with the bulbs takes way too long. If I close my phone I have to open the app back out of the lights and then go back in so they'll reconnect. I find myself more often than not just getting up and turning the switch on and off to turn the lights on instead of waiting on the app which takes forever. It's been 3 months and you have had so many negative reviews since the last update. Please fix this awful app.

No alarm for low battery? total miss. I have temp sensors that I check from time to time but not often. I do like to look back at history temps for comparison to previous years but 2 of my devices have dead batteries for months and now I have a ton of lost data. How hard would it be for the app to send a notification when the batteries are getting low?

Need a lot of work to improve. It definitely isn't intuitive. Schedules seem to be everywhere. I've cleared everything, yet a scene I don't want keeps coming up. I should be able to just say... Between this time and that, do this (run a scene, snapshot, etc). Done. Right now I'm going through every menu on two phones to try to see what keeps triggering this unwanted scene. Frustrating!

Recent version of the app is even more complicated than ever before! Just when you thought the UI layers couldn't get any more complicated. The hardware is great for the price, but the app is not good. Also, as others have pointed out, it's ABSURD and UNACCEPTABLE to require location permissions to use the app. I regret buying these lights, because if I had known the long list of permissions and the unavoidable insistence on precise location, I would have chosen another brand.

Ehhh ... leaves me wishing I tried a different brand. I purchased their temperature and humidity sensor to remotely monitor the temperature of a room. App UI leaves a lot to be desired. Customization/data-graphing is limited, no option to set a temperature range to be displayed graphed. Doesn't update fast enough, always need to go in and manually load graph data. Hardware is good though and the product works. Lacks refinement. I wouldn't buy again unless the software and functionality improves.

The app is totally unusable. Bloated with useless, convoluted pages that never lead you to what you need it to do. My timers do not work anymore, and occasionally my light turns on randomly with a crazy strobe I've never used before. There is no way to program the light to turn on, at a specific time, with a specific color. Fix this???

My devices all of a sudden have a mind of their own, turning on at all sorts of hours of the day. I don't have any Alexa or Google Home integrations, so can't blame a third party. Disconnected wifi to one device, and it didn't turn on, the others did. So did hackers break into the Govee API? I reinstalled everything and still happens. Using Bluetooth only for now.

Possibly one of the worst and most confusing app I have ever used. There are confusing menus, options, demands for permissions (that my phone does not have). It tries to handle a plethora of devices and serves the one I have, a single bluetooth oven thermometer very badly. It is cloud dependent for n reason at all. The best part about it is that my theremometer works really well without it. So I can delete the 95MB app and get space back and get off their cloud. edit: It has now been deleted.

Avoid. This app is so buggy that it turns what is a good physical product into an annoying pain. Changes scenes randomly all rhe time, scheduling/triggered scenes doesn't work. The light is now a distraction an inconvenience. It will also not stay connected to wifi or bluetooth, and playing music through the speaker on the Lamp Pro 2 is frustrating. Tried reinstalling several times. Way too much time spent. There are better options out there.

The interface is clunky, setting a specific color is a nightmare and the connection is awful. I want to change a setting on a bulb so I tap it then I have to wait a solid 10 seconds while it connects via Bluetooth to allow me to change colors or brightness. They're connected to wifi, why is Bluetooth the default? Dumb setup. I must say that the bulbs are pretty bright and the colors are good as well

This app is hard to work with. For a beginner with no instructions I am having a hard time figuring it out. The colors wheels are off the mark, especially the purple, and choosing lighter colors turns my strip lights to white. Turning the lights on is a slow process. Bluetooth doesn't appear right away. The community has not been helpful for solutions.

This review specifically relates to the electric kettle. How have makers of kettles not figured out the #1 use of their product is making tea? There is a brewing timer in the app, but it is confusing and completely separated from the heating function so I have to cancel keep warm, go to the timer then reheat. Also there is no notification when the timer is finished, just a light vibration on my phone. I thought this kettle was smart, but turns out it's just extremely frustrating to use.

After the last update, the app opens but reports a "rooted" device status. Then closes. Developers have got to stop discriminating against this condition. If I'm not allowed to use a product I paid money for how is that equitable? Might as well crack the case open and reflash or replace the controller. At least then it wouldn't give your company my usage data.

app won't start anymore. I have these Bluetooth Hygrometer Thermometers and the last time I attempted to use the app to sync data, the app wouldn't start. it crashes in start and then eventually it realizes that it crashes and suggested I cleared the history. well that doesn't do anything, nor does uninstalling and reinstalling. so now these units I have still work but since I wanted them to COLLECT date 6, they are now effectively useless because the app is broken.

No Alert When Gateway Offline. This is a glaring gap in protection with the water sensors. If the gateway goes offline there is NO Alert from the app and there are NO sensor alerts from the sensors of a water leak. There is no alert of a water leak, and no alert that the hub has disconnected. The whole purpose is to have a system that alerts you. I have contacted customer service multiple times over the last 8 months, pointing out this issue and they have declined to fix it.

This app has never worked well but it gets worse with every update. It's the most convoluted app I've ever interacted with and while sometimes they make things better, mostly it gets so confusing and buggy that I only have the mental space to use the most basic features. It won't even connect to light groups now and if you move you have to update the wifi for each and every device, one at a time. Don't worry, the network and password will autofill inside the app for each one 🙄

Worked great last year. Then they did an update. Can't get it to stop changing the temperature target. Every time I close my phone I have to reset it. The connections constantly drop, too. I also can't change the preset. I can only cook for a T-Bone, even though I am cooking a turkey. Looked all over the menu and setting and they apparently got rid of the other options.

I just installed this app, and I must say I am very disappointed. The app is so cluttered, confusing and hard to understand at times. The whole app could use a nice UI and transition refresh. Additionally, I cannot connect any devices to my network at all. It literally just does not work. Other than that, device connecting was fine, controlling with Bluetooth directly does work, but that's all I can say. Ads are controllable from settings so that's fine I don't care about that.

overall it's like a 3.5. meh its a light/product app that you can control for lighting settings. it's got a good number of effects and can work with music if you have the right model for the app. I need other things than just what I got but it's overall easy to use, the rewards part is working. and the prices are a bit large , but it's for aLot of lights or other products that it sells out the store.
