I like the app because I can get a good idea what's available and the general price ranges of things. I don't like the app because it doesn't update fast enough, meaning, the item says "in stock" when the item isn't actually in stock. Another part of this is that when I have tried putting an order in for pickup and waited 4 hours, double the time the app says an item should be ready for pickup. That time I ended up cancelling the order completely and went to the store to get the item instead.
Excellent. I placed an online order which said they had one in stock and was going to be shipped. However, item was back ordered. Emails I received from guitar center kept me up to date and I actually received my item just 2 1/2 weeks later. I was expecting it to be longer since it was a limited edition item. When I went to the store the next day after receiving email that it arrived, the gentleman at the counter was very helpful. Helped me right away to keep me from waiting.
It's cool if you like to browse, it's clunky and will stop in the middle of your session and take you back to the home page. Which can suck, if your browsing through alot, takes time to find where you were at again. I usually just close it after that. Also, it ask me to call when trying to enter my rewards to make a purchase. I would prefer to just copy and paste the code into the coupon area, but nope codes won't let you copy. At least on my phone. Frustrating to say the least.
if the app worked and loaded like it should, it would be a 5 star rating. The images of products take a long time to load, and if you want to sort them from lowest price to highest price, the option never loads to be able to sort it. the app also closes at random, but seems to happen most when backing out of a search, then entering a new product, it'll stall for about 15 seconds then close. This happens all the time as I do searches for product by model numbers that I'm interested in.
App is actually very nice. Easy to use so. When any order is placed on backorder - Guitar Center needs to inform the customer of the next possible or rough estimate of when the the order will be fulfilled. I totally understand items selling out. Then update your website to reflect such. And, instead of appearing to lie - "we as in GC have the item but it needs a few extra days to be packaged and shipped." When that means we are sold out.
decent app, but a bit too marketing heavy. mostly I want to see my account, check my orders, and such. But you have to navigate to those areas, whereas it seems they should be more prominently featured. Rather, the home page is just the guitar center website, geared toward shopping. I get it, I just find it slightly annoying.
This app needs some serious retooling. As a return customer, I already had an account. But the app didn't seem to know it and just froze rather than tell me. I forgot my password and requested a new one. Again it froze. When I requested a password change on the website and reset it, the app did accept it. However, it is less than snail slow at bringing info up. It's far faster to use the web site.
I found this app to be incredibly glitchy. Often, to search an item up, I'd have to search three or fours times for the app to register my search. With that, often when I clicked on an item, there would be no image shown, despite when searching on my phone's web browser, I could find the same item with a picture. There were many other issues, and all in all, I'd say I installed this app, figuring it would make it easier to search Guitar Center on my phone, but the exact opposite happened.
The app is good I have no complaints about it it is a little slow sometimes and I do get a message saying connection problems, but over all it's a good app to find out if your nearest store has what you need. I think if they had instrument specific techs on line to help out with question that could be something to make you have a little better experience for beginner musicians or people into music period. There isn't anything like going into the store and hearing the equipment live.
I mean, the app is fine. It's just a shopping app. But here's the d inside scoop. Where's the place to get good deals on gear, good ole Guitar Center. So with Reverb, musicians charge you what they think their stuff is worth. Everyone thinks their stuff is worth more. But gc being essentially a large pawn shop kind of place, they have rules and procedures for what they charge for used stuff. So I always check GC first. Already found some amazing deals.
Shopping around on the app is fine, but signing in is impossible. I use it to check local availability and that's it. I have to be quick or I get spammed with a timeout token that fills the page, super annoying. I'll go into the store and purchase with my vet discount. Also, no loyalty program? C'mon, it's 2025.
Well, I love the fact that it crashes so often that it is funny. It is nice a game how many seconds until the app crashes or says the wait or close app. So, it is a waste of time using the app. Either just call the store or do like me and just shop somewhere else for new and used gear. Looks like one more win for Sweetwater. I love my local guitar center but they are busy so easier to order online but now will just avoid.
I've successfully opened the app maybe 3 times or so but it keeps crashing and fails to open. I can't really rate the app on too much else besides this. One of the times I did manage to get into the app to search for something, the search feature kept opening and closing my phones keyboard and never ended up searching for the product. If you're curious why guitar center is losing money here's a good reason why. Do yourself a favor and just download the reverb app and you'll be 10X happier.
think twice about placing any order at Guitar Center over the internet. I was seriously disappointed with my order of guitar strings. I placed the order on 04/17, after almost a month the order did not arrive, I contacted them and they said the product would arrive on 05/26. I waited all this time and the product didn't arrive. I checked the site today and found that the order was canceled, that is, they did not send at least 1 email notifying me. Very frustrated with that.
Its a good app! I'm using it to find certain guitars that I'm thinking of buying in the future. There is one annoying thing though. Whenever I search for something using the search bar, im never able to get out of it once I search for whatever im looking for. I tried clicking out of it, hitting "search" or "done", but im always stuck there. After a minute of spaming buttons, im finally able to get out of it, and to start scrolling through products. Other than that, its a good app!
This store never disappoints me. Whatever I need, they generally have it. Case in point, I was looking to get the Rode Rodecaster Duo for my birthday. It was a very sought out product that flew off the shelves as soon as it arrived at stores and online vendors. I took a chance at the Clackamas store here in the Portland area, and lo and behold, they had it! Wow! These guys are truly amazing.
8/17/18 Claims to have fixed bugs, and yet constantly gives me grief when I try to purchase any item. Constantly wants me to log in, but constantly ends session and resets, or freezes up. Similar issues with desktop version of website. This makes me want to shop elsewhere. EDIT: 1/23/21 App seems functional again so far. Will look into more.
Does its job: I could search items and browse supply. Sure there are some glitches here and there that are annoying, the biggest issue is the notifications. Despite the option to tailor the alerts you get according to your instrument preferences, you get a barrage of unrelated notifications that you can't stop. So I've bought what I wanted and now I'm uninstalling it.
Within hours of creating an account and adding an item to my cart I was called by GC to help complete the sale. I removed the item and then was called again by a different tech to see if I needed help since I was no longer interested in the first guitar I added to my cart. GC seemed pretty desperate for a sale. I just wanted to buy a guitar and not be bothered, and yall made me never want to buy from you again. Deleted, shoping on Reverb where no one pressures me to buy anything.
The app constantly crashes and navigating the search feature is an absolute nightmare. When you search for something it pulls up all the product listings but then immediately brings up the keyboard and search window. Making it impossible to go through the listings. If you press back on your phone or on the website it doesn't take you back to the listings it takes you back to the HOME PAGE. So you go back and forth about 10 or 15 times and then it randomly decides to just show you the listings.
