I only use it for habit tracking, not the adventure game components, and it's such a good habit tracker, without ads, that I have used it for almost 2 years, to great effect for my habits. Finally decided to subscribe to support them and even that was a very affordable price. It's nice that the social and gaming component will be there if I ever decide to use it.
Very fun way to reward yourself for staying on track with regular goals. I have a lot of chronic illnesses, and if I manage them well, I'm fully healthy. Managing them well is close to two hours of work daily and fifteen different (mostly small) tasks. This app helps that daily work feel less onerous and reduces the stress of remembering all the little things I have to do
I used this a long time ago and left the app. I cant remember why. All my data is still there, and I have no recollection how to reset anything, remove tasks or habits, game mechanics, etc. I was hoping to start over. I cant even really explore the app, as an error comes up every 30 seconds to tell me it has disconnected from the server, and I have to re-allow privacy settings every 2 minutes. Buggy af
Using this less for gamifying chores and more for general organization. I've found it very useful to have certain tasks I need/want to do multiple times a day or week listed as "habits", and there's a counter to show how many times I've done it in a day/week/month, whichever I chose to reset it at. Helpful in case I forget. Although, seeing my first pet was a wolf was exciting, because I adore wolves, and I want to collect all the wolves now, so that's good incentive for me to keep using this.
I've been using this app since 2018, it's helped with high school, college, and now daily life stuff! This is the only organization app I've used that doesn't beg for your money! There's a paid membership that I have always wanted because I care about collecting pets/mounts lol, but nothing excessively tries to pressure you into spending money! You're never forced to pay in order to progress, there aren't constant pop ups, and best of all--NO ADS! I only wish you could gift items to others lol
It's pretty good. Can be a bit frustrating when push notifications are inconsistent. I had hoped to rely on this to remind me when I need to do things but the notifications don't consistently appear. I'm not sure what makes a difference because it's not like they *never* come through. For something free though I'm not going to complain too much.
I've really enjoyed this app, as I've been using it for half a year now. Only downside is you do eventually run out of things to work towards unless you pay for a subscription. I've reached the point where there's no new quests to do, no more stat points to earn, and no new pets to unlock (without a subscription). Because of this it has started to lose my interest.
I've been using this app for almost a year, and been a subscriber for extra perks the whole time. I really love how you can party with people and defeat bosses, etc. There's a lot of parts to this that genuinely help me so much. Overall, I just wish there was more to do, like a daily adventure or something that you go through a dungeon or small adventure (with your party could be fun too) I don't really know what could be added, I just wish for more to do/more creative content
Didn't expect this to be as handy and motivating as it is- it's great for errands and reminders as well as chores. It does freeze up if it's been sitting open or if I clicked into another app (say, to make a phone call), which is annoying, but closing and re-opening the app fixes it. Would definitely recommend to anyone who needs a little extra encouragement to get things done, including things you might be a little anxious about (like phone calls).
Honestly, this app is amazing. I was struggling to keep track of tasks and stay motivated in doing online courses, but I've been doing great since picking up Habitica. I strongly recommend for anyone struggling to remember or find reasons to do something consistently. Levelling up my character, doing quests, and finding items is so incredibly satisfying, and the whole app is free! It has a subscription model, but it's for unlocking cosmetic items only and doesn't change core gameplay. 10/10!!
It's a great app, I love it, I've often forgotten to drink water and eat food (adhd), but now that my dude is in danger of dying every night if I don't do that, I've improved quite a bit. My only problem with the app is that the notifications are never on time, and if I have a notification already, it often doesn't notify me for any other notifications. But that's the only thing I can find wrong. Almost at lvl 10!
It's a really nice app for those who want/need a little push sticking to it's habits, thanks to it's gamification. It has nice widgets, which help keeping an eye at pending tasks and everything at hand. Also, the possibility to mark habits as positive or negative is a differential. Syncing (auto cloud backup?) is also great to have. However, one thing that I really missed are statistics, as I've found in other apps - being able to see the days I performed each task, frequency per week day, etc.
Wow! It takes a few weeks with this app to realize how unique it is. If you are the type of person who would like to present a negative consequence to not fulfilling your task, this app does it in a fun, safe way. For example. A goal of mine is to eat more meals during the day. (I usually eat one a day) With this app I was able to personally fine tune things so that I would get rewarded if I ate a meal on time. But every hour after that meal I can enter a "minus', able to subtract points.
This app helped me start turning my life back around. I was neglecting basic self-care, but making a game of it made it fun to get back into the habit of regular meals, showers, and even remembering to brush my hair to keep the tangles out. I know making it a game may not work for everyone, but it worked for me. it has options to set habits for any daily increments you choose, though nothing smaller than one day, but ultimately it turned out extremely helpful.
Great idea in theory but lacking in execution. It starts out fun but then lacks incentive for you to keep going, as there's not many skills to learn, quests are insignificant, grindy, and boring, and there's barely any character customization options. They should also implement some sort of story mode along with random events to increase engagement. I'm already level 18 and will stop using the app soon. There's not much more to discover other than collectibles and microtransactions.
I'm a breath away from uninstalling this app again. Half the time it doesn't even do what it's supposed to do, some things it doesn't even let you do inside the app, you have to go to the actual browser version to do it. On that subject, the mobile browser is beyond awkward, no chance of navigating it properly! If I'm supposed to log into an actual PC just to check off that I did a workout or washed dishes, forget it. Right now the only reward I get is having my good mood ruined; certainly not worth it.
If you're looking for a to do list or a way to schedule your day this works fine, but as an RPG game type way of doing that its lacking. Almost everything costs gems, which can only be bought or won extremely rarely in competitions, including quests, most pets, all food items for pets, etc. There's not much you can do RPG wise for free in this app, so if thats what you're wanting, I wouldn't bother unless you're willing to pay for those features over and over again.
Really loved at the start, super motivating and fun. Unfortunately I've found as your level progresses, there really is lacking incentive. You can only get so many potions and food before it becomes useless. When you hit level 100 no more allocation points. There is a huge imbalance of hit points on bosses so often your hits count for nothing because one player does all the damage in less than a day. Gear doesn't get better or more powerful. Nothing to strive for in the higher levels. Bummer.
I've been using this app for years at this point. Great way to keep track of daily tasks, habits, and to do lists with the added bonus of gamifying it! The gaming aspect of it could be better but I also only have the free version. Plus, if it was too distracting it would become a hinderance to my productivity! Which, I think, would be counterproductive to the apps purpose. 5 Stars!
Great app, I only have one complaint: The Tavern system doesn't work. I went on vacation and knew I wouldn't be able to complete my dailies or even open the app for that matter, so I entered the Tavern thinking I was safe for the couple weeks I'd be gone. I just reopened the app and it told me I had died twice, took all of my gold, two of my items, and decreased two levels. Honestly considering deleting the app now, as I had over 100 gold saved and lost a piece of rare equipment
