I never usually write reviews but this app is terrible. Most times Im trying to watch something, the app just cuts out. Even when I cast it to the TV, it just stops. When I try to load the app on my phone, it just does nothing so I have to close it out. To charge ppl for a streaming service, especially a new customer like myself and have so many issues is a problem. Ive noticed after I looked that a lot of other people have the same issues. I want to watch what im being charged for...

The worst streaming app there is. The user experience is terrible. Long load times, constant crashes, quits in the middle of episodes. Doesn't matter if you log out and log back in, or uninstall and reinstall the app. It's awful to use and doesn't function as it should.

frustrating The app keeps telling me to 'renew' making it impossible for me to watch anything. My payments are up to date so not sure what's going on. I contacted customer support and it worked for a while today but suddenly stopped and saying I need to renew!!!!!!!!!!!!

Glitchy 🫣 ive been a Hayu subscriber for years. but im starting to get frustrated. The app lately has glitchy issues. episodes wont start playing. you could be 5, 10, 20 minutes in and the ep just cuts. Im on the most recent update, my wifis good, and I have a brand new phone. Nothing I can do seems to fix it.

The content/shows is what lured me in but the app itself is terrible. The app constantly glitches on the TV and signs me out almost every time I use it (and I've made sure there's no updates pending). It also freezes mid episode on the TV and no matter what I do it won't play past a certain point - I end up having to watch it on my phone.

The app has been slower in buffering episodes since the latest update but overall works very well. I used to have an issue of it thinking I'm on different devices when getting on or off casting, but that's improved. I wish there was a chronological feature, since Bravo shows sometimes cross-feature. Imagine if one could make a playlist, choose shows, and then play so then it would play the episodes chronologically across series but ignore the shows that aren't selected. I would love that.

Errors all the time taking you back to the home screen. When you want to easily access your show you are watching you have to go all the way near the bottom of the tv screen to "continue watching" which automatically plays from an older episode you have already watched and you're not given the chance to select another episode first it just plays from there. often glitches when scrolling home page so you can't get to where you want without force closing the app. poor form for a PAID service.

decent shows, terrible app. App randomly disconnects constantly when casting and never saves the last point watched. I could watch half an episode and it will disconnect, when try to resume play from the app again nothing happens so have to close it down. then once reopened it will open a completely different season mid episode. also the captions are never correct or have caption from 5 minutes back over top of current caption. frustrating, annoying and terrible app needs a lot of work

your app is pure rubbish at the moment. im sorry. It takes a long time to start a video. I can't even cast it to my TV as the TV only shows "ready to cast". plus, the app for Smart tv is even worse. So please make our money worth it and work it on this app. I might cancel if I dont see changes

crashing issues on chromebrook and unable to access on phone. this app constantly crashes and glitches on my chromebook and everything I download to my Android phone I cannot access. the ap goes to ipen but nothing ever comes up on the screen it's blank and therefore can't use on my phone . I'm paying for nothing but a dodgy service

I've seen the bad reviews and I can honestly say none of these issues have ever affected me. I've had Hayu for almost 2 years now, watch via the app on my phone and via the app on my telly mainly and they're both seamless. I love having access to all my favourite shows as soon as they're released and I no longer have to suffer spoilers online whilst I wait for them to come to the UK. And Real Housewives of London was superb! A very welcome edition! 🙌

your tax is incorrect for Australia, therefore the monthly charge should be less. Additionally .. how is it possible for hayu to be charging $2 more than 1 year ago and the app has poorer performance? please fix ... the multitude of issues are increasing and frustrating!

When it works it's great but I haven't even had the app for a year and on two separate occasions I have to delete and reinstall the app as it won't load anything. This has been the case on both my phone and TV. I have connected to different Wifis and used my personal data and nothing works. The first time I was able to log back in after reinstalling it but this time it keeps throwing out errors. It's really frustrating

I have yet to hear back from someone after I have emailed them showing proof that I had purchased another month from the Google Play store, but yet it still says that I need to renew my subscription when I open the app. When I click on the renew it says that I have already subscribed.

Horrible, Horrible, Horrible application. It's terrible on the phone, on the TV, on any compatible device. I honestly can't understand how you increase your prices every single year, but do not invest in an application that ACTUALLY WORKS. Have a think about that. Fix your technical issues. I'm so glad I've cancelled my subscription. Image is constantly freezing with the video playing in the background. uninstaller and reinstalled but didn't help. It's a bit slow and glitchy. Is asking me to finish set up even though I have been using for 2 months after paying for a six month subscription. Cannot view my account details as nothing loads. Does not save where you were up to watching so you spend time rewatching to find where you were up to and waiting for episodes to load.

Edit Nov 2025 Canceled. Price increase in the middle of billing cycle of 1 year. Not legal to increase until the end of the cycle in April. Can't have installed on more than 1 device. If you do you can't play on EITHER device unless you uninstall. Tried to disconnect one device BUT THIS OPTION DOESN'T EXIST on browser or app. Used to be able to have on all devices, stay signed in and no issues playing on another phone.

UPDATE: 5 YEARS ON AND STILL SO BAD. sometimes it doesn't load at all. it doesn't remember where you have watched up til, so you spend 10 minutes finding your latest episode of things!!! I could be on Le season 5 episode 3 and it'll still say continue watching season2 episode 1..... SORT IT OUT! WE PAY FOR THIS!! Temperamental. The app decides when it wants to work and for how long for. Sometimes it works perfectly, other times im spending 20 mins trying to get it to even load.

App doesn't work properly. Think you can download shows to watch when you're offline? Think again. The app will just load for 5 minutes and then pop up with an error, unless you're connected to internet or data. I feel like most people have the apps to have the ability to watch offline. Sometimes, you can watch 1 episode, and then when you go to watch the next, the app kicks you out and then you get an error even though you were just watching. Very buggy, I'll stick with Netflix for downloads.
