The app scanner doesn't work. When I scan the barcode, it shows it's accepted but when I manually put in the number, it states the item isn't covered. Also you can only buy a certain quantity bottle of allergy medicine. Why? If you pay for the brand why can't I purchase a larger bottle? It's actually cheaper and saves the consumer money.
Update: After a month & app update, still can't login. As others reported, I can't get past the login. When it sends the code via text, I get the code, then switch back to the app to enter it, but it has logged me out - I can't enter the code. If I enter credentials again, I just have to get a new code, and go in circles. I'm not too interested in the service anyway due to being limited to Stop&Shop or Walmart; this fundamental app problem makes me unlikely to ever bother trying Healthy Savings.
Many of the items listed say they are at the stores in my area, but they are not at the store or the selection is very limited to the point of it being useless. I end up going to a store not covered (whole foods usually) to get the items I need. This has wasted time and money because I end up doing 2 stops instead of 1 and they are generally not close to each other. I have tried 3 different stores in the list already with the same frustration at each one.
Very disappointing!!!! Every since I've gotten it, I have yet to get any help or savings from it! Every merchant I've visited states a reason why they can't access your platform or find me in your system! Why can't we just use as a debit card with funds to purchase what's needed. I've wasted more money on bus fare or paying someone than saving, this is entirely too ridiculous. I've lost 3 months of funds plus my own money for what?! If you're limited to certain or no items, what's the point?!!
Half the time I ended up spending more because the discounts didn't come off at checkout. There's a process where you can submit a form to get the discounts reimbursed, but you'll never hear back. Now I've been booted out & it keeps telling me I have the wrong password. When I ask for an email for a temporary password to change it, I never get an email. Not thinking this is worth the aggravation.
The healthy savings app shows discounts for only branded food and medicines. Only 2 things (apples) aren't prepackaged, and those apples aren't ones I recognize either the type or brand from any store I visit. At most, I'd save $2 ($1 per type of apple). Except for the apples, there are no simple foods from the fruit or vegetable isle. For the packaged goods, I don't recognize any of the brands. This app may be great for some people in one area, but it's not at all for me.
The items available are either too expensive to justify buying for the tiny discount offered or aren't actually healthy. There's no way this app is worth it for my budget or diet. No fresh produce, no meat, only "lean" and "healthy" (but not really) snacks, a severely limited selection of canned goods, and a bit of dairy. All of the stores listed are within driving distance but there's maybe 2 items available for discount that I'd bother buying.
There are never any products in the list that I use (and most I have never heard of) or any coupons or savings that are more than the pitiful amounts you get from the manufacturers. I have never been able to use this app at any store because it always says you have no benefits on there no matter what I do. This app is worthless. And almost all the reviews are negative for the last few years so how does it have 4 Stars? Google is not being accurate but that's not a surprise.
The entire program is an utter dissapointment and waste of time. If I had purchased these promoted items both my wallet and shopping cart would have been less healthy than my regular shopping habits. This week there is only one fresh fruit and my store didn't have that brand of pears (yes, because I'm always checking for the brand of my produce...obsurd!). And the only vegetable, a canned option, wasn't in stock at my store either. You'd be better off cutting coupons!
I have activated my card, and scanned every product in the fresh fruits and vegetables section of Walmart. Nothing was accepted. So, I asked the customer service person why Nothing registered for credit with my Healthy Savings card. He told me that they weren't set up for that card, because they would have to order special items and they weren't going to bother with that. So, as I have written Medica about this program that isn't really helping people. Please, investigate, we need this food.
The app doesn't do a very good job of explaining what your account makes you eligible for. Health insurance providers talk about benefits such as online ordering and getting a $150 allowance for fresh produce, but the program actually has several tiers, and if they have you in the lowest tier, you don't get those benefits, just a few rather meager coupons. Since the app doesn't give you any details, you have to call the company to find out what benefits you tier includes.
This used to work fine. The past few months, logging in has been super frustrating and buggy, just like other recent reviews have said. Fingerprint doesn't work, and when you open the text with the two step verification code the app logs you out so you have to start over. I can only get in if I copy the code from the notification. Please fix this.
Have been unable to log into the app for several weeks now. Same problem as others have experienced, sign-in info just disappears. Uninstalled and reinstalled to no avail. Sent an email to Support but got no reply. Will someone please fix this app? When it works, the scan feature is very handy to see what products are part of our savings program.
Why did I even bother? The savings weren't worth the effort of setting it up. I only have two stores in the area that are covered. The discounts are for items/brands I wouldn't buy. There's no fresh produce, and it's mostly peanut butter and yogurt. The app itself is okay. It's pretty easy to navigate and it looks nice. My only issue is that pushing the back button on my phone exits the app/logs me out. It's supper frustrating. Make the phone's back button work for the app!!!
Since this last update at least, this app has been really slow. When I click on a discount to see what's eligible under it, it loads really slow. Then I get an error message saying that it can't load the page that shows all eligible products under that discount. Still trying to understand this whole program as I just got this insurance, the beginning of the year and nothing/nowhere describes detail steps about it.
My health insurance sent me the information to sign up for this and I was really excited. My diet is based on a vegan diet and I was looking forward to saving on produce. I went to a grocery store on the list closest to my home to find out the Scan doesn't work, the store did not carry the brand of produce listed, and when the checkout clerk scanned my number from the app it didn't work either. Not sure if it was worth the trip to a different store to save $0 dollars on the 1 item I bought from the list which cost more than at my regular store.
Having captcha INSIDE THE APP means that we can't use password managers. I can't remember every single robust secure password I ever created and I do not re-use passwords between apps. So there I am at checkout and the app immediately erases every attempt to use pasword managers or disability access/memory aids to log in to it. And there's no 'keep me logged in' option for those of us with secured phones. One star because it's absolutely unusable. Wish I could reverse thia app-breaking update.
There are almost no offers that would be used by most families. The items that are discounted are not items that would we would ever buy. Nice idea but very poor execution of the purpose of the app/card. Not to mention that UCARE thought this would be used by all the people that they sent a mailer with actual cards for this app inside of it? How expensive and what a waste of the paper and cardstock that was laminated for the cards? You could do better than this!?!?
will not use my stored password, just switches back to beginning. very annoying to have to look up password each time. also changed to only categories and can't scan all even though there is a button for "All". It should be made more simple, not harder. Constantly drops out of app while scrolling through products, having then to log back in. At this rate I will never be able to order anything and forfeit my benefit.
This app used to work. I could use it to check my balance on my card. At some point it decided when I logged in with biometrics it would skip letting me in and land on the login page and lock me out. I have been unable to get in for months. Today I went to the store and my account came up unauthorized. I have had so many issues with this app. Use with caution!
