The Hik-Connect app is adequate, but just barely. If they don't correct the most glaring glitches, then I'll probably go with a competitor's product, even though it costs more. THE PRESETS DON'T WORK RIGHT. To get a preset to 'stick,' I have to enter it at least three times in a row, then wait 15 seconds. That usually works. But, randomly, presets will switch places ... so that preset for Driveway actually points to Hedges. Then, I have to reprogram them ... again. PLEASE FIX THIS!

While on video playback, if viewing on anything above 1X speed it will freeze up if it reaches the end of an event. It will take multiple hours and even days before allowing playback of recorded content. Can only view "Live View". It will just constantly say that "The number of streaming channels exceeded limit. Please stop playing other channels of the device and try again." This has been a constant issue for over 1 year. When will this be fixed????

1 star for the lack of accessibility. It must work with wifi and it doesn't. The cellular data reception at our home is extremely poor and generally unavailable. That renders the product unusable while at home. "It's intended to use while traveling" we were told, but that's when you WOULD be using wifi, especially when out of the country. Please make it usuable with wifi.

This review is mainly about the cameras. Siren and light cameras go off at the most random times despite being armed "silently" - or even while disarmed. As I type this, the blue & red lights are going off outside my window despite the camera being disarmed & nobody/nothing in the garden to set it off. Also, the night lights are on all night instead of only if there is motion. Then, tried to view footage from a few days ago, & the app just hangs. What's the point then. Fat waste of money.

Works great for the most part. I'd like to see a timer. Can't tell you how many times I've disarmed the system for working outside and forgot to rearm. How about an option to disarm for an hour, 2 , 3 and then it auto rearm. My doorbell does this. Would also be nice to have an option for the cams to open expanded every time so you don't have to scroll horizontally.

Horrible app missing a lot of features. For instance 1) no option to download a saved video to your phone, you first have to share it. 2) device frequently times out if it takes longer than 20 seconds to download your video, which is ridiculous 3) no way to clear failed downloads list 4) no 2X 4X 8X speed to Rewind video, only for fast forward. Try to use something else.

The app is full of bugs. I'll get a notification, tap on it and the app opens up without requiring fingerprint ID. After viewing the notification, you have access to the entire app. It would be nice if all my cameras showed on the home screen rather than having to tap, load more all the time. It would be nice if I could adjust the sensitivity of cameras from the app. Constantly get buffering issues on Wi-Fi at work despite IT granting access to the IP address.

the app is quite basic, and the videos that it picks often are due to an insect flying in front of the camera. The video summary does not show a summary image of the videos, which is annoying as you only have the length of the video as a guide to see if it was just a bug or something else. The software could be greatly improved, but it works well, and when we got robbed, we had the face of the robber in every angle for the police to use as evidence.

App is laggy after the last few updates. The App was working good before but the last few updates have caused it to become slow. When you open the Recent Live View page, it takes time to load the recent live videos which was not the case earlier before the updates. Sometimes it takes ages to open the live view of a particular camera, when you open any particular camera. Developer, please fix this.

The latest update is a big UX regression. I have multiple cameras, and the Home page used to default show me a small multiview of all cameras. Now, my device is collapsed & I have to manually tap to expand a list of cameras then tap to view. When viewing one camera, I can no longer consistently swipe to see the next camera. Opening the app from an alert notification causes the app to try and open in split screen (why???) and crash bc split screen is not supported. Last version was better.

I loved these cameras & the app in Sept 25 when I first got them. Four months later, my system is pointless. The live view cameras work, so the cameras are working fine & have been installed correctly. My internet connection works fine. But despite the cameras doing their job & recording, the playback doesn't work & isnt fit for purpose. It takes an hour to bring up any videos because of playback faults. Once you do get a video, it lags and freezes & is therefore useless.

Facing trouble from few days. says device offline. then after few hours it automatically gets started and few hours later it again shows device offline. technicians have visited the site. still no improvement. shows recording of when it was offline which means the system is working. only I am not able to see. clearly it's an App issue

After latest update, image and video preview stopped working in notification. please fix it quickly. Giving 1 star as the issue still open for many days and no response from support team 3/3/2026 Its been more thaan 1 month and still no resolution for the thumbnail problem. what is the purpose in getting notification but unable to see the picture worst customer support 5/3/2026 Latest update also didnt resolve the problem...No option to revert ordownload to previous working version

2nd review for Feb '26: This app, once again, isn't working on Android for me or my wife. Bearing in mind that all we do is monitor the live feeds - nothing complicated like alerts, recording or playback (which doesn't work, BTW) - all the live cameras just hang... and then time out. We've both now abandoned it completely and found an alternative app which actually works, making it superior in every single way. Goodbye and good riddance, Hik-Connect, never has an app made me so mad.

I am using hik vision camera system . I am experiencing horrible customer service and for the last 7 days, I had tried all chatbot, phone numbers to connect with them and I am not able to connect with them with any contact number mentioned on their website. if you wish, you can try. I am seeing some people writing about their great service and I really dont know through which phone number they are connecting. Kindly share the medium through which you can avail their great services....horrible.

The reviews seem to suggest that many others are experiencing the same problem I have with this app/system: the live video streaming takes forever to load and in most cases it fails, making it impossible to watch what's happening around the house. A "security" system like this is pretty useless.

Problems, when you playback videos, you cannot scroll through the video, othertimes you select a specific video and it loads up a different one, sometimes the video just crashes and freezes, used to be a very good app, but now its very poor, i hope they fix it ASAP, this has been going on for around 6 months

The app used to be smooth. But now, when I open a DVR to view it live, it's loading slowly, and when I double-tap on one camera, it's stuck. If I got lucky, the stream will works fine. Otherwise, the app frozen, and not moving, ended up closed automatically.

Can't replay 1 of 4 cameras (main 1), 'decoding device timed out. Check device network connection'. Installer can't fix it. 1 camera looks over a narrow pathway (single file only but widens to 3m x 3m at back) leading to a dead end & a narrow locked shed & oil tank. Every day it detects people and cars! Makes me wonder how reliable the other three cameras are! Also every night, a cat comes in, sits on my parcel delivery box facing camera & sleeps undetected! Again, I wonder if its reliable!

unreliable. It would be helpful if I can rely on the app to open access to all cameras. for some reason playback is not always possible and cameras intermittently go off line. this is a huge issue as reasonably, we should not have to worry about reliability of these cameras or the app. playback is critical!
