I've downloaded several apps to turn my old phone into a security camera and I couldn't get any of them to work. I downloaded this one and honestly I think my 5 year could have set it up. It was truly that simple. The rest of the ones I downloaded were way too technical with having to know ip addresses and port numbers and such. Didnt have to know anything for this one. It's cut and dry. Simple. Downloaded it. Its awesome. Plus the picture is good too!!

It is a really good app and it works as described. I only have two things that I would change. When I have it set on 1080p the motion events are super laggy. Granted the phone being used as the camera is basically a toaster lol so I run it on 480p. The other is that the motion detection clips are too short so I end up with a billion clips to sort through even set on medium. Wish they were in longer intervals. Besides that, great job developers and thank you for all of your hard work.

Changed from 5 to 3 stars. Videos won't play back any more unless you go to Google drive. Really getting tired of it randomly unable to connect, my network checks out fine. App works, until recently you have to stop and restart it from time to time on the camera phone. (paid for it too, not just a free trial)

When the app works and you can stream your video using another phone, it works fine. Most of the time, it doesn't work. The app is very inconsistent and super slow to load up the live stream or cloud videos. The web viewer also doesn't work and I only see a black screen after I logged in. This feels like a beta version and not production ready. You get what you pay for.

After researching apps I went with this all several years back and have no regrets. I went w the free account for some time, and that's really all I needed, but upgraded at the time to support the developers. Pro account provides unlimited time plus more. You can use old devices and you can expect to hear back from the developer if you email them. Lastly, I tried a handful of similar apps and was disappointed for a wide range of reasons.

If you are looking for a surveillance system, look no further than wardencam! Put your old phones to use again by using their cameras to watch over your belongings. I have never run out of space on my drive storage and have even left my cameras on for continuous recording for several days in a row! Plus, you only pay one flat, affordable fee to have access to a solid surveillance system. Highly recommend!

paid the one time premium, hooked it up to a free Dropbox 2gb cloud account, and have been using it for a over a year running on a old cracked cellphone. You can't get better security for under $10... Works great, lasted almost two months without even touching the phone for a restart. Only thing is updates were finicky early on, if you update one, updated all your devices...

The free version is limited and only good for a short time. i have had to reinstall the app on the viewer phone 7 times so far as requested by the app itself. Even though i had trouble, i paid the upgrade fee thinking it would improve my experience. it didnt. The app on the viewer is still in free mode every time i reinstall and it wont upgrade. i put in a request for support. depending on their response, i may edit this post for + or -.

SO many issues. Constantly goes dark for no reason, if you switch apps on the viewer phone then you have to restart it cause of bugs, and there's no option to extend your screen timeout settings past the 10 minute default on your old phone. So, when the phone goes to sleep, so does the camera. Not exactly effective if it blacks out randomly and only works for 10 minutes!!

It is a neat idea be I really want to use it, but it keeps on uploading multiple versions of the same files to Google drive, filling it up with megabytes of unnecessary data and killing my drive space. Its not occasional. It's constant, rendering the app extremely difficult to use, as you can't find your videos in the hundreds of copies. (note - I've found that using Dropbox doesn't have the issue).

The concept. Ok. Execution not good. Very hard to setup . Kept saying I have free version after purchasing it. I then logged out and back in after the purchase on each and every device to change it to pro. Even that was only successful after many attempts. it is almost impossible to monitor in real time. It just buffers and my line speed at home is 100 mbps upload and download. The motion detection is pretty much all that really works. But the app is laggy and slow. And I have a s8 which is fast

A good idea, but simply not stable enough so takes too much time trying to get the viewer mobile to work. It kicks you out and you can't get back in, or it closes other apps I'm in and opens itself up, also the amount of times I've had to delete the app and re-install it again...well, I've stopped counting. This might be a great app one day, and I've had some great night shots with foxes and hedgehogs but you have to position it somewhere close to a street light or solar light to get any use.

Camera crashes randomly. Longest up time was just 3 days or so. Phone is new, bought just for camera app. I have disabled or uninstalled whatever possible. Without apparent reason, camera app gets relegated to background and stops streaming. No response from technical support. I give up at this point and switch to competing app.

I'm from India. I liked the app and purchased a license. The concern is there are no regular updates even when there are a lot of technical issues in the app. The last update was in July 2023 in which the issues were still not fixed. The app is extremely slow. Seems like I made a mistake by paying for it in 2017. Such unreliability encourages people to not pay for licenses or resort to ad-based apps. Hope you will take note of this and let the app be a competitive solution in ip cam segment.

It seems like a good app. It has nice features when it's working. But the app crashes too often to be useful. I tried two different Android phones and it just isn't dependable. On one phone it crashed about every hour or two. On the other phone it works for two to six hours before it needs restarted. The phones were Android 8 and Android 10, so at least one wasn't completely ancient. And then it has the audacity to ask you to upgrade to premium to continue crashing on your phone.

Sometimes the app is great and other times it gets so buggy that it will not detect motion. When it does detect motion it will send notifications to check but when I check nothing shows up. Also, there are times I'll receive notifications and the recordings will show up...but they're from 2 days ago. Other times the two devices I use as cameras will stay stuck at buffering. The only way I've found to temporarily fix this is to uninstall and reinstall the app. This only works sometimes.

It works, but I spent money to upgrade to pro and it only upgraded to pro on my viewing phone, not my camera phone. I'll be seeking a refund when I figure out how, but the app itself doesn't have customer support. I had meant to use this app while I was away for a few days, but since the camera is on the free version it shuts itself off after 12 hours. I don't have time to troubleshoot before I leave so I'll be relying on a different app.

2014. - I have spent a lot of time checking all available surveillance apps, and this one is the best at the moment. Only thing that is missing is possibility to choose frame rate for each video resolution (depending on network quality, android spec., etc.). Keep on good work, you're on the right path :) ...5 years later - still no option to choose frame rate, mostly cca. 3-5 fps. Pity, 'cause it's still one of the best apps, worth money.

Nice app, at last ive found a work for my old android phones. Motion detection works as i expected , send push and saves videos on motion. Using it to watch my pets while i am out for couple of days i can control their food in plates and call to pet service when it needed and also xontrol service guys when they come, absolutely free security system, but ive bought full version to get all my devices connected to the one security system. Awesome!

This app is amazing!! I paid the extremely inexpensive one time cost of the app and have been using it for about 5 years now and I couldn't be happier with the Warden Cam app! I definitely recommend this app if you are someone who wants security cameras but can't afford them cuz you can use your old smartphones a security cams and they are just as good if not better. Just think how many old phones you've thrown away. Eat one of those can be a potential security camera! So thank you Warden Cam!!!
