I love the app & being able to view a lot of options at one time & have used it to find some of our favorite places! The biggest problem that I have with the HomeAway app & it's the same with all of them, the "per night" average is nowhere close to the actual per night charge, no matter what property you choose. It wastes time having to go into each property, enter the dates & then get a quote, just to see what the price MAY be. Additionally, availability is sometimes off, which may be a problem that can't be avoided. However, one thing that can, Rental Agreements. Letting a potential client know if a lengthy rental agreement will be necessary & what the terms are, prior to booking, seems a no-brainer to me. It would save the home owner a lot of wasted time, or so it would seem.
Very helpful for planning trips at short notice and for longer-term plans. Occasional challenges clarifying pet friendly places and key pick up arrangements, but that is sort of to be expected. Stayz could tighten that up though I guess.
Absolutely horrible organisation avoid at all costs. We booked 7months in advance host went missing 3months out. Was advised to cancel & book something else, however due to the event we were attending no reasonable options available. Stayz wouldn't honour their guarantee to assist because I notified them before the end of the full refund period. They suggested other options that weren't available, weren't near the event, weren't suitable for 4mates traveling together or cost 4 X more 🤦
WARNING: You cannot cancel a Booking Request. All instructions in the Help Menu do NOT work. They make it easy to make a booking but impossible to cancel one, typical of a money hungry business protecting profits, instead of creating a user friendly website or App...
The cancellation policy can mean that your entire full payment can be forfeited even months before. 🙄 I prefer to use other sites that allow cancellation till just days before. 👍 😝
Always has the right kind of accomodation suggestions and filters that assist finding the perfect spot (of course with people who have great stayz locations too)
Search for locations works quite well but basic functionality like changing the currency that is used is not provided or not obvious. Showing prices in NZ$ for a European customer searching for European locations is not really helpful.
I have used Stayz previously and found the accommodation is of a higher quality than the others. The houses / units or other places are always clean and situated in good locations
coming from German site fewo-direkt.de Prices only shown in NZ with no option to change. This is an issue since at least 1-2 years. please FIX IT.
During peak busy periods hosts have cancelled on myself and friends many times so they can rebook for a higher fee. There is no way to report them or complain.
OMG I had to go 5 layers deep in this app in order to pay for our booking 🙄 why aren't you more up front with how to pay?
Randomly showing rates in NZ when i am in Australia. Not easy to navigate and confusing.
gives prices in NZ dollars. I live in Germany, we don't use NZ dollars because Germany is in Europe and use the Euro!!!!
I find this app poor. The prices are all in NZ dollars, there is no obvious place anywhere to change this to euros when planning a trip to Europe from Europe!?! Even the virtual assistant can't help with this problem... because I don't have any bookings
Only shows price in NZ dollar... and no option to change. Came from German website "FeWo direkt"...
My currency is set to $NZ and can't change it. Totally puts me off using this app. Really useless.
I can manage my Abritel booking in France very well with this App....as long as I accept it's in New Zealand dollars via bookabach. What is wrong guys?

probably fine if you never need any help or support. the virtual agent (the only way to access support) lies that it's connecting you to a live support person, then repeats the initial dialogue questions. I'm out $700 since May because they won't release the funds despite a 100% refund cancellation policy. utterly absurd
why can't I change the currency in the app? this is the opposite of user friendly and intuitive and it is super annoying 🥲🥲🥲 edit: haven't even stayed in the place yet and it is giving me a hard time. Can't pay my second installment, takes neither of my credit cards. first and last time I used this website.
