I love hot topic! it's one of my favorite stores. though I do wish the deals worked normally. like the buy 2 get one free, the free one was the more expensive one or smtn. I tried to use 30% off on an order and it had the buy 2 get one free in it too and it got rid of the free part. but whatever. STILL A GREAT STORE!
They recently changed their delivery service to a company I stopped ordering from Shein because of. They're considered an "alternative" delivery service and is delivered by an individual driving their own car which says it all. Yet Hot Topic still has the audacity to charge $7.99 shipping for orders under $75. There are also items that appear to be in stock, but once clicked on, it shows they're completely out of stock which can be super frustrating.
The apps kind of works. It isn't laggy and my profile does keep the items I ❤️ in my favorites. But using the filter is pretty worthless. It may work initially but if you try to view an item and then return to your filtered results, they aren't filtered anymore. Also, about half the items I want both aren't in stock for shipping OR in a store, even within 100 mile radius. If it's sold out, remove it. Or allow people to sign up for notifications if you plan to restock.
Be careful buying online because sometimes the items won't reach you. They'll have it marked delivered, but it never reaches you. Forget having 2 identification for your order. If you don't have the tracking number, they can't help you. Even if you have an account with name and email, they can look up. Just buy from the store so you don't lose money on a product that never reaches you. Just use the app for rewards.
This app has become just a glorified wishlist. Any time I try to place an order, it gets hung up when I get to payment. Cannot add a payment method and claims I have zero balance or just freezes. It splits the items up and half are marked for shipping and the other half for in-store pick-up despite not selecting ship to store. Real hassle to have to find things again on the site to actually place an order, what's the point of the app at all? Just saves me money I guess!
The app is not good. Every time I hit review my order, it freezes and won't actually let me buy anything. I restarted the app, but literally nothing goes through, and it just keeps stalling. Same issue on pc as well. Also, for some items low in stock, you can neither ship or pick them up at the nearest store?? EDIT: 1/26/24, update did absolutely nothing. Same exact problem, and customer service isn't great either. Tried asking for help, and the guy hung up on me for no reason.
its very useful and quite helpful, but it keeps adding more and more items to your cart. i had 1 pair of shoes and 1 crossbody bag in my cart, I go to check out, and now I have 2 of each item? so I went back to fix it and it said there was only 1 item. I exited out of the app, went back in, and now I had 3 pairs of shoes and 2 bags 😂 I just used the web browser and paid for my items that way, but you should fix that small issue 😂😂
Great to browse on. Won't let me checkout though. Each time it says too many redirects. App is up to date too. Hopefully bug gets fixed in next update. Edit: Still will not let me checkout. I enter all my info and when I hit 'Review Order', it deletes everything! Web browser isn't any better. I log in and when I try to view anything on my account, it takes me back to the log in screen...
An ok app to use when I don't want to go to chrome and do things there. It would be nice if you'd stop showing items as "in stock" then when I pick an "available" size none are in stock. Also, if you advertise an item (like short alls) it would be nice if you mention what shirt is with it in case we want to "complete the look"... It's difficult to search "long sleeve top" then have to look through 23 pages of said search...
Infuriating. If I had to describe this app in one word, that's what it would be. Orders almost never go through. Not with cards, not with paypal. Never do in store pickup because then when your order does go through, it doesn't matter if the order estimate was 2 to 4 hours or 6 to 10 days, you will ALWAYS be waiting longer. In-store pickup should not take longer than home delivery! I had one in-store pickup item take 15 days! Ridiculous.
I'm trying to check out and it keeps putting half my order as store pickup and I'm alil too far to be going there, and when I try to check out it says I don't have a balance and that I don't have to pay, but I'm literally looking at my balance and shipping, so it won't let me check out and says it's an error. The exact same thing is happening with Box Lunch as well and it's very frustrating. Please fix immediately or my Christmas is ruined!!
I have been having a hellacious time trying to place an order since Monday and they continue to push me off and then I I miss out on the items because they"sell out" of the item after I've already purchased it and it's pending in my bank account then they just decide to cancel the order over and over saying that it's my bank's problem even though it's not I've confirmed it with my bank I confirmed it with my account and I've confirmed it with well everything that I can possibly confirm it with so it's just a ridiculous excuse that they've been using and I have lost out on multiple items because they sold out and multiple sales because they've ended and that's absolutely ridiculous and they're customer service is horrible. They constantly just point the blame onto customer and then when everything's all said and done and you lose out it's too bad so sad. Very disappointed wouldn't suggest trying to do it I have tried 3 times now and still haven't been successful not only am I not going to get the gifts for people that I anticipated but supposedly they are sold out.
I've had to completely cancel all my orders because the app glitches every time I try to order anything, and half the time it kicks all the items out of my cart. Most recently I selected the ship option for all my items, but after going to checkout all of the items except one switched to store pickup. I'm not paying $6.99 for shipping to still have to drive a half hour to pick up my items anyway.
I hate the fact that you can only have 50 items in your cart, and I tried to look at my cart today and all of my items were just gone? I don't know if Hot Topic just deletes everything in your cart after a certain amount of time, but it shouldn't. And it's also annoying how everytime you open the app, it refreshes the whole site. Not sure if that last part is just mine or not though.
I'm disappointed with Hot Topic as a company & their app is absolutely terrible. No matter how many times I've tried to log in, it just won't. Today I tried to check out and it keeps adding more of the same item to my cart. I'm only trying to purchase one shirt and it added five to my cart. Each time I go to remove them, once I go back to check out, it has added another. Even after clearing my cart, it's saying that the cart is empty, I go to add the product one more time & they're there again
Weird app. App works fine. Ish? Using gift cards on the app is an impossible feat? I log in on the app and see my wish list(which i badically use as a shopping list), then I log into the same account on my browser and my wish list is empty, so I add things to my wish list, but it doesn't transfer. Who knows how many different wish lists j have on the same account. But I just want to be able to use a dang gift card on the app. I put the code in then it just sits and spins.. what...
Any time I try to order more than 1 thing for delivery, it says one item for pickup and 1 item for delivery. No matter what I do I can't change it, even when the items say they're available for delivery. It also won't let me check out if I have more than 1 item in my cart at a time. The payment option won't come up and I can't do anything but go to the previous page, remove everything but 1 item, and then I'm able to check out. The app needs work
I like the app more than I like the website, although they have a tendency to leave items that are sold out on sale. *edit For some reason, the app stopped working. Whenever I use it, I have to log in again then when I look at my account, it says that I have no order history, and when I click on the payment info, it tells me I have to log in again to view it, even though I already did. This app needs some major TLC.
Since it's last update it won't let me place any delivery orders. I get to the checkout and it doesn't show me a total, when I try and hit place order it says an error occurred and to try again, and that the payment method I entered was invalid, even though I've had multiple past delivery orders placed with no issue. I wonder if it's just a bug or a glitch, but could it be looked into?-
Prices for merchandise cost more through the app than they do on the actual website or in person within going to the actual store itself. If you don't believe me, check it out for yourself. Unless they have changed it recently, items do cost more when using the app which does not make sense to me. Also, the only reason why I gave this app 2 stars is because it's easy to navigate and doesn't crash. Otherwise, I would have given it only one star.
